Strong performance. I keep almost wishing for a string of poor bench sessions so I have an excuse to switch strategies and start block pressing just because I find it fun, but I’m not going to change

Becoming Canis dirus - SvenG’s Training Log

God is a Beast - 2026.c13w3d4 Wednesday - 14 October 2026 Workout: Conditioning, 1930-1950 (20 minutes) Sled sprint - 90 lbs + sled - 50 yards - 6 rounds Walk - 5 minutes Slow and steady WAS the name of the game, and tonight, that meant a new round every 60.33 seconds (on average)—basically it was go-when-you’re-ready, which was almost EMOM. Happy I decided to get all of the regularly scheduled work in today—maybe that’s me trying to: SvenG: strap on a pair and get serious. Onward and upward!

KRAKATOA: PowPowPunishment’s Daily Ventures of Destruction

@SvenG Thanks friend! Sucks that the guy in front photobombed me. Deload Overhead press 95 x 5 115 x 5 135 x 5 Decline bench press 185 x 10 205 x 3 x 10 Chin-ups: 20, 15 20 dips Been feeling horribly nauseous and burpy in the mornings for a couple of weeks now. It persists until the early afternoon and seems to have crescendoed this week. After reviewing past patterns, my theory is it’s from increased caloric intake paired with lifting too close to bedtime, so I’ll make some adjustments there and see if I feel better.

Davemccright’s Dangerous Dave’s Diabolical Log for Density and Destruction

Tonight will be legs but I’ll share chest and back sessions from the last two days! These have been brutal! But we’re at basically the apex of the upper body portion of Gamma Bomb! The top of the pyramid in terms of volume and intensity and I am FEELING it! Actually feeling pretty ready for the next two weeks of deload sessions. My client schedule has caused my sleep schedule to be weird and it has made an impact on my recovery. My circadian rhythm is probably a bit off this week. Both workouts were phenomenal though!

Ep 392 - Training Frequency for Hypertrophy

Trexler and Helms dig into training frequency and hypertrophy, prompted by a wave of recent discussion and two new papers: a new original study comparing three weekly sessions of three sets against one session of nine, and a new preprint from an independent research team utilizing the openly available data from Pelland’s previously published meta-regression.

Doing Dumb Stuff as a College Kid

Current game plan: I found a coach to work with and that’ll start Monday. Going to take a deload rest of this week. My body feels like shit. Was going to squat for reps and 265 felt like a heavy single (on SSB). Very very annoyed and pissed off but pretty sure I’m more irritable from the exam load (which is over now) Good news though: hip is slowly getting better

The Return of Even More Movies You’ve Watched This Week III

I watched about a half of “The Smashing Machine” last night. I really liked what I saw. There were many great small details that sucked me in! Kerr’s voice inflection, Paul Varelens’ fighting stance, Mark Coleman’s EZ chair, even Sakuraba’s orange shorts. Some scenes/conversations were taken directly from the OG Smashing Machine documentary that I saw once like 20 years ago. Or news stories or just general perception of MMA around ’98-2000. It really took me back! I’m excited to finish it up
