    6 watch collection

Bravur, Grand Tour - Swedish microbrand with cycling links. My love of cycling made me do it. Seiko, SNSC79 - bought around 8 years ago and started off my mechanical watch fascination. Seiko, Dolce - just thought it was a cool quartz dress watch. Rolex, OP - bought this after a good year at work. First ‘luxury’ watch. Farer, Durham - cool British microbrand. Love the dial on this. Oris, Momotaro - a daily go to. Hated the original denim strap so stuck on something more to my taste. Just thought I’d share some watch stuff!

[Junghans Max Bill Handaufzug] is this watch too small for my wrist?

Hi everyone, I recently got this Junghans Max Bill Handaufzug, which is 34 mm in diameter. I was very curious about this size, never had watches this small and I decided to give it a try because I tend to like smaller watches. Be honest: does it look too small? Does it look like a women’s watch? Ideally I’d use it not only as a dress watch but also with some more casual outfits. submitted by /u/WhitebeardLion196 [link] [comments]

    Cartier Chemo Commemoration

Just celebrated Day 100 post-chemotherapy (thank god not for cancer; had a bone marrow transplant for IBD) and marked the occasion with my first Cartier, a Tank Must XL. Loving it so much, and it’s just perfect for what I wanted out of my next watch. Looking at it reminds me to be proud for getting through the ordeal, and gives me hope for what comes next. submitted by /u/robbieoverhere [link] [comments]

[Citizen] cal. 8100 - One of the most underrated chronograph ever

    - Automatic - flyback - 28800 a/h - compact size (38mm case size) - timeless design Citizen caliber 8100, year of production 1972. A direct rival to the legendary Seiko 6139, in my opinion it wins hands down from a technical standpoint, and also in terms of style. The design is absolutely contemporary and the compact size makes it very elegant. submitted by /u/beboYep [link] [comments]

[Discussion] What are some of the best microbrands out there ?

I've been collecting watches for a couple of months now and recently fell down the microbrand rabbit hole. Here are a few pieces I came across that I think look really cool. I'd love to hear about some of your favorite microbrands too! Also, I'm heading to Japan soon and planning to pick up this Knis watch, debating between these two. If anyone here has bought from them, how's the quality? Any thoughts would help a lot. 😁 submitted by /u/GenBoogie [link] [comments]

[Discussion] This Seiko watchmaker has the best take I've read regarding why you should avoid showering with watches

Full comment on a watch forum: "These are sentimental and valuable things to own. Maybe take the watch off for the time it takes to shower? Gaskets need replacing or at least should be checked every year or so if diving iirc. What about the temperature changes? Chemicals and oils and so on? How does that affect the gasket? If you are gonna shower with it in hot steamy water expect to check those seals even sooner, expect the air inside the case to heat up.

[GS & Rolex] My proposed 2 watch collection

Why own anything else? Seriously. After owning everything from Rolex, Patek, Lange, Romain Gauthier, Greubel Forsey, Gronefeld, Breguet, Ming, AP, FPJ, and others, I found myself selling and simplifying. What do you really really want in a watch? For me, something robust and something beautiful. Rolex explorer 36mm fits the robust and GS UFA at 37mm fits the beautiful. Both accurate timepieces (though the GS has been +1 second in 6 months!!) Over the years, I’ve found a call towards some purity and these two keep calling me over and over.
