Blues Masters at the Crossroads Concert Series Kicks Off With a Pair of Stunning 180gm Live LPs from Tab Benoit and Tony Joe White, Recorded a Year Apart at Blue Heaven Studios in Salina, Kansas
When I attended my first Blues Masters at the Crossroads event back on October 17 and 18, 2014, at Blue Heaven Studios in Salina, Kansas—i.e., inside “The Church” performance space that aligns at the very Midwestern intersection between Analogue Productions’ head honcho Chad Kassem’s very heart and soul—I only had a limited advance inkling of just what I’d be hearing that whole weekend.

Just what the doctor ordered—quite literally. Pangea Audio has just announced that the Record Doctor XI, the 25th anniversary edition of the well-respected—and well-reviewed!—Record Doctor series of vacuum record cleaning machines (aka RCMs), will be shipping this month.
Is the 200g 1LP UHQR of The Who’s 1971 Benchmark Album Who’s Next the “New Boss” Vinyl Standard?
So much has been written over the last 55 years about The Who’s landmark, triple-platinum, best-selling, and (arguably) best-ever single-disc album, August 1971’s Who’s Next, that it is almost pointless to try writing something fresh about it. About a decade ago, The Wall Street Journal posted a short video about Itsushi Hamasaki, a diffident and rather nondescript man living in Tokyo. As the voiceover informs us, to free up money for his loudspeakers — a pair of hulking horns costing north of $100,000 — Hamasaki lives in a 250 ft2 apartment, and hasn’t bought a stitch of clothing in 15 years. And because the speakers occupy most of his tiny living space, every time he opens his refrigerator, he has to move the couch.
Billy Idol’s Iconic, Fist-Pumping 1983 Rebel Yell LP Is Ready to Give Us More, More, More With 180g AAA One-Step DSS LP Coming on November 20
If I say, “in the midnight hour, I want more, more, more,” that can only mean one thing, right? That said, if you think I mean anything other than I want more vinyl, then you’re in the wrong place. Anyway, that statement of intent is my virtual curled-lipped, fist-pumping way of letting you know the fine folks at Interscope-Capitol have just announced Billy Idol’s breakthrough November 1983 Chrysalis LP Rebel Yell is soon getting the full all-analog Definitive Sound Series (DSS) treatment for its limited-edition 180g 1LP release on November 20,
