    [WWTBC] Historical romance involving luddites?

There was a book series about generations of a family in an industrial town in England in the 19th century. I think one of the MMCs is called Blaize? The FMC ends up having to marry the brother of the guy she's in love with to save her virtue. The following book follows her daughter I think. There's a lot of class politics about the changes being made as labour moves to machines and social issues like slavery. I think it was probably written in the 70s/80s. submitted by /u/misswrite347 [link] [comments]

Fmc calling the mmc baby (pet name)

Hi, i recently finished {tears of betrayal by michelle heard} and i really liked how after an injury the fmc started calling the mmc “baby” she was like “its ok baby im here”, “baby you have done so much for me now let me take care of you” and she kept calling him that it was so sweet to me, usually its only the mmc who has a pet name for the fmc. Could you give me some books where either fmc calls him baby or they both call each other that? Thank you. submitted by /u/najpoziomka [link] [comments]

[WWTBC] Looking for a romance where the heroine leaves after the hero takes his ex to the hospital

I'm looking for a grumpy sunshine romance novel set on a farm. The heroine is a sweet sunshine type girl while the hero is grumpy and owns a large farm. I think they have a one night stand and she get pregnant, although I'm not completely sure about that part. For some reason he convinces her to move in with him to his house .He has horses and I distinctly remember a scene where they help a horse give birth to a foal. He also has a younger brother.

    Playful sex

Hey everyone! I am looking for books rec where the sex is a fun activity for the couple. Like they are laughing, teasing each other and all that. In most books, it's always that the sex scene is just full of dirty talk from the mmc and the fmc just moaning. While that is also undoubtedly hot, I am looking for more relaxed playful sex scenes. I would prefer a younger couple but honestly anything works. Just no multiple partners. Thanks!

Need a trope-informed FMC who is delusional and trusts "real life" WILL turn out like a romance novel

I think most of us are sick of FMCs who love romance novels, and part of the reason for that, for me is, they aren't delusional about it. The FMC will get into a fake dating scenario, but hem and haw the whole time about how it isn't real and it won't work out like the romance novels she loves, because she isn't living in a romance novel herself (haha, get it? /s).

MMC thinks FMC is dead, but she comes back with amnesia

Does anyone know any books with this kind of plot? 😭 Basically, the MMC thinks the FMC died, but then he sees her again years later and she's like a completely different person. Maybe she used to be sweet and bubbly, but now she's cold, aloof, and distant towards him. He starts wondering if it's even really her or if she's just someone who looks exactly like the woman he used to love. What he doesn't know is that she actually has amnesia and doesn't remember him or their relationship at all.

    Dual POV with distinctive voices

I saw a post on here a few days ago about dual POV which isn’t genuine because it is so heavily weighted in favour of one character. My issue is different and founded in writing quality: are there any dual POV books where the voices are consistently well constructed and distinctive? Where the characters don’t just sound the same, but one swears more?

Every aspect of a different social life can't be oppression when you chose to marry into a different kind of family

I may be a minority in this, but it irks me in a weird way when the female protagonist marries a very rich, high-society kind of man, and then, obviously, there are a lot of problems, but one of the narratives is about learning table manners, knowing where the forks go, what the different spoons are for, and being told to talk a little less loudly. Like, somehow, all these etiquettes are shown as attempts to change her personality.

Chill or slight thrill biker romances?

Haven’t read any biker romances and i’d like to give them a try :) i’d prefer something that feels a little more down to earth/grounded; well rounded characters, gradual relationship development as opposed to insta lust (please, i hate this). ideal fmc would be average/romantically inexperienced, quiet, independent thinker i’m ok with some dark content but less is more 👍🏼 submitted by /u/ybutton [link] [comments]

    Let’s do some polls!

I believe that we can’t post polls in this sub but let me know if that’s not correct. Anyway, I’m an AVID romance reader with strong views in what I like. However, I see lots of posts on here of people that like basically the opposite of me which I find fascinating. How dare people have different taste to me lol! Anyway, what do you prefer? Single POV or Dual POV? [I prefer dual. My favourite dynamic is down bad MMC and oblivious FMC] Contemporary Romance v Historical Romance? [I prefer contemporary.

Mmc's who exist separately from the fmc

Hey y'all. This is going to be a bit of a rant where I explain what I mean by my title. Something I've noticed in a lot of romance books, especially dual POV, is that the mmc only exists to be in love with the fmc. What I mean by this, is that the mmc does not have any motivation, dreams, or aspirations outside of being with the fmc. All there thoughts centre around the fmc, often in sexual ways, and they kind of just exist to simp for and support the fmc.

Mafia, OWD **but** the MMC publicly chooses FMC in response

It's ya boy Moony back with another Slightly Too Specific Request. In today's flavour, I am looking for something Mafia with OWD, however the MMC chooses the FMC in response. I want it to be an immediate response, no hesitation from MMC whatsoever , he says "Sorry OW, FMC is my girl" or does something to show he has no interest in the OW anymore. Ideally he does it the first time and keeps doing it, and everybody including the OW and FMC know it (sorry Nero, you're ruled out here tho I love SJ Tilly).

    Books that depict jobs/professions accurately

I just read a post about inaccuracies in jobs or fields that take people out of the book or make them DNF. I’m looking for the opposite: books that depict professions accurately. Can be any subgenre and featuring any job or profession. Bonus points for unusual ones or ones that aren’t often portrayed in fiction. submitted by /u/absintheonmylips [link] [comments]

DNF'd At First Spite by Olivia Dade, did anyone feel this way too?

I tried to read {At First Spite by Olivia Dade} because I was looking for something featuring a depressed FMC, and it was recommended on here. I kind of struggled to pick it up because I hate cartoon-style covers, and most of the time they make me think the book will have juvenile writing 😵‍💫 But anyways, I started reading, and... sadly, it did not prove me wrong. It was indeed full of juvenile writing and cringey pop culture references. I couldn't help but think that the humour was very white woman-coded, which made it very unfunny to me.
