Bravur, Grand Tour - Swedish microbrand with cycling links. My love of cycling made me do it. Seiko, SNSC79 - bought around 8 years ago and started off my mechanical watch fascination. Seiko, Dolce - just thought it was a cool quartz dress watch. Rolex, OP - bought this after a good year at work. First ‘luxury’ watch. Farer, Durham - cool British microbrand. Love the dial on this. Oris, Momotaro - a daily go to. Hated the original denim strap so stuck on something more to my taste. Just thought I’d share some watch stuff!
[Junghans Max Bill Handaufzug] is this watch too small for my wrist?
Hi everyone, I recently got this Junghans Max Bill Handaufzug, which is 34 mm in diameter. I was very curious about this size, never had watches this small and I decided to give it a try because I tend to like smaller watches. Be honest: does it look too small? Does it look like a women’s watch? Ideally I’d use it not only as a dress watch but also with some more casual outfits. submitted by /u/WhitebeardLion196 [link] [comments]
Help me choose my first Rolex Datejust 31!
I’m torn between a few Datejust 31 configurations and need your honest opinions! I want something timeless, elegant, and versatile that I won’t get bored of. P.S. The second picture is a 28mm, just for reference on the chocolate dial/rose gold look I’m going for. Which one would you pick and why? Bonus points if you own one and can share how it looks! submitted by /u/littleglam [link] [comments]
Reconsidering A Smartwatch: The Garmin MARQ 3
One side effect of working in the watch industry is becoming the default person to ask when there’s a watch-adjacent question. While I have a go-to answer for most questions, the occasional “What smartwatch should I buy?” was always a bit of a curveball. Until last month, I would have recommended that you stay within

Omega „Seachero” or not?
Dear OF, please tell me if in Your oppinion it is „Seachero” or just Seamaster? How to recognize it? I was always thinking that ref 2990-1 is connected with „Seachero” - true or fals? Thanks!

Cartier Chemo Commemoration
Just celebrated Day 100 post-chemotherapy (thank god not for cancer; had a bone marrow transplant for IBD) and marked the occasion with my first Cartier, a Tank Must XL. Loving it so much, and it’s just perfect for what I wanted out of my next watch. Looking at it reminds me to be proud for getting through the ordeal, and gives me hope for what comes next. submitted by /u/robbieoverhere [link] [comments]
Help me pick an open-heart watch for my boyfriend’s milestone birthday — I know nothing about watches 😭
I know basically nothing about watches, but my boyfriend really appreciates the engineering/mechanical side. His favorite watch he owns is a dark green Seiko 5 Sports, and I know he likes Omega (the moon watch???$, but that’s way out of my budget right now 😭 For his milestone birthday I want to get him an open-heart watch just to be cheesy I’m choosing between: Tissot Le Locle Open Heart Tissot Gentleman Powermatic 80 Open Heart Orient Stretto Day & Night
[Citizen] cal. 8100 - One of the most underrated chronograph ever
- Automatic - flyback - 28800 a/h - compact size (38mm case size) - timeless design Citizen caliber 8100, year of production 1972. A direct rival to the legendary Seiko 6139, in my opinion it wins hands down from a technical standpoint, and also in terms of style. The design is absolutely contemporary and the compact size makes it very elegant. submitted by /u/beboYep [link] [comments]

First Look: Fortis Updates its Space Chronograph with the Fully Luminous Novonaut N-42 Halo Editions
In recent years, Swiss brand Fortis has worked hard to update most of its collection and mechanical offerings, including a refreshed Flieger collection, the return of the Marinemaster, and the introduction of the Stratoliner with a space-tested movement. In 2023, the brand tackled the task of revamping one of its most important models, a model once known as the B-42 Official Cosmonauts
Been seeing a lot of first timers getting lucky at ADs! Here’s my husbands story
Hello! Long time lurker first time poster! Figured I’d share my husbands insanely lucky story! He wanted a Rolex for some time and even browsed CPO (not sure if that’s the term) but couldn’t find anything he liked fairly priced. Anyways he was out one Sunday, and decided to pop into Bucherer NYC. He called me losing his mind saying he MIGHT be able to get a watch…mind you he had zero relationship with the boutique.
Dial Authenticity Check - ref 135.011
Hello all at the Omega forums - first post so nice to meet you all. I love Omegas, specifically those from pre-1970 (although I’d love one of the Bond modern seamaster 300m professional if they weren’t so large - 42mm seems a bit bulky for me). Can someone please help with an authenticity
MB&F LM1 Evo Hands-On: The Two-Time Hybrid Sport Heritage Watch
Geneva-based MB&F is a brand I’ve been covering since nearly the start of aBlogtoWatch. I started covering MB&F when it launched its second major model — the Horological Machine No. 2. — and I recall most of the brand’s major introductions. At the time, all new MB&F products were intended to be novel, as the […] The post

[Discussion] What are some of the best microbrands out there ?
I've been collecting watches for a couple of months now and recently fell down the microbrand rabbit hole. Here are a few pieces I came across that I think look really cool. I'd love to hear about some of your favorite microbrands too! Also, I'm heading to Japan soon and planning to pick up this Knis watch, debating between these two. If anyone here has bought from them, how's the quality? Any thoughts would help a lot. 😁 submitted by /u/GenBoogie [link] [comments]
[Discussion] This Seiko watchmaker has the best take I've read regarding why you should avoid showering with watches
Full comment on a watch forum: "These are sentimental and valuable things to own. Maybe take the watch off for the time it takes to shower? Gaskets need replacing or at least should be checked every year or so if diving iirc. What about the temperature changes? Chemicals and oils and so on? How does that affect the gasket? If you are gonna shower with it in hot steamy water expect to check those seals even sooner, expect the air inside the case to heat up.
