Hands-On: The Revised Glashütte Original 70s Watch Is An Understated, Excellent Dark Horse
It’s not something that enthusiasts bring up very often, but the Glashütte Original 70s collection is technically Swatch Group’s flagship contender in the industry-spanning integrated bracelet sports watch arms race. Certainly, the Tissot PRX is a definitive entry-level take on the style and the Omega Constellation “Manhattan” might be more iconic (as divisive as it
Is The Tudor Pelagos 39 Better Than A Rolex Submariner?
Put the spec sheets for the Tudor Pelagos 39 and the Rolex Submariner side by side, and the two watches look almost suspiciously similar. Both are roughly 40mm steel or titanium dive watches with in-house automatic movements, ceramic or aluminum bezels, and depth ratings most owners will never come close to testing. On paper, this […] Visit Is The Tudor Pelagos 39 Better Than A Rolex Submariner? to read the full article.
First Look: The Cyma Grand Maestro “The Chess” Chronograph Triple Calendar
Cyma‘s history in Swiss watchmaking dates to the establishment of Tavannes Watch Company in the 1860s, and it had its ups and downs like the rest of the industry. Recently, we reviewed the Grand Maestro Steel Cross Chronograph, a modern sports series with a layered dial, powered by a familiar Swiss automatic movement. The new
Is scamming common on this forum
Hey do people try to scam forum members on Omega forums, is it a thing? So I have a couple wanted adds for watch parts and got this private message today. The thing that seems off is the member is new with zero posts zero likes. See screenshot below. So is my instincts right? Thanks for the help.
Picking A Saxonian Watch Bouquet: Introducing The Glashütte Original × Meissen Senator Cherry Blossom
Somewhere in a remote corner of the internet, there must be a place where people debate whether enamel or porcelain watch dials are nicer. I didn’t go down the rabbit hole into a heated online argument about these two delicate dial-making techniques, but from time to time, I do have an internal discussion on the […] Visit Picking A Saxonian Watch Bouquet: Introducing The Glashütte Original × Meissen Senator Cherry Blossom to read the full article.
Books and Reference Books
Omega Forums is pretty rich in posts about Omega and other brand reference books, but I can’t help but wonder if a thread that is a kind of a book clearing house might not be helpful. When I was looking for a thread featuring general horology books I came across a post by chipsotoole at https://omegaforums.net/threads/antique-watch-horology-books.126176/ who was describing some of his more interesting finds at a small auction house: a fake Rolex, and some 18th century horology titles... Good day, Looking to sell my Longines 3640 with breguet numerals with a pink patina dial. Not sure if originally pink or aged that way. Unfortunately no movement pics cause I can’t get the back off and rather then damaging will leave it alone. Watch is in lovely condition and running fine

Would it worth to buy 166.002
Hi, I was looking on a local trading website, and saw this 166.002 for 450 USD. Even though I have relatively knowledge on watches, never bought an antique one. Dial seemed super nice, and I can maybe only change the glass to keep it affordable. Does it makes sense to buy or at least check it out?
Omega Speedmaster Missions Patch thread for Gemini Apollo Skylab Watches
No thread yet i could find for this rare series of watches from 1998 showing all the NASA Missions so i post my New Arrival and hope you join in. I think these deserve more love and attention as only 150 pieces or so per Mission were available for sale, except for the Apollo 13 one from 1995. My new watch is the Omega Speedmaster Apollo 15 ref 3597.18 In 1997, as a tribute to 40 years of NASA missions, Omega released a collection of 22 Mission Patch... Read more

Calling all Pocket Watch Buffs
Since there is not a forum for pocket watches, several of us pocket watch “nuts” have put our heads together to see if, by focussing on the topic of pocket watches in one “catch all” thread, we might be able, through combined synergism, actually have a thread to call our own. My first pocket
Can Omega restore this PO to like-new condition?
Hi everyone, I've been eyeing the Planet Ocean for a few months now and am thinking about buying one second-hand pretty soon. With a 6.7-inch wrist (17 cm), I was initially leaning towards the 39.5 mm PO in black. However, I recently came across someone in my area selling a 2201.50. The watch is 42 mm with a 48 mm lug-to-lug, and from what I've seen, it seems to wear quite well on a wrist my size. The first generation is definitely more toolish-looking compared to the 39.5 mm third... Read more

Silver Snoopy strap to bracelet
Back to the 3861 bracelet. I’ve been wearing the Snoopy on the AT sailcloth strap with deployant clasp for the past 6 months. It is a great alternative to and way more comfortable than the OEM blue tang buckle and strap. But, I never gave the metal bracelet a fair chance. The 3861 bracelet changes the whole watch. BTW, the Bergeron 7825 Spring Bar tweezers are excellent once you get the hang of it. No scratches. Now, time to celebrate.
