Trench Crusade reveals medical crowdfunder for Warhammer art legend Karl Kopinski
The team at Factory Fortress Inc, makers of Trench Crusade, have announced a new fundraising campaign to support Karl Kopinski, a prolific fantasy artist best known for his work on Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Fantasy Battle in the early 2000s, and who is still recovering from a stroke he had in 2025. Hosted on 3D model marketplace MyMinifactory, 24 model creators including "top wargaming brands" will contribute "high quality STL packs" to a bundle of digital miniatures that will be available on November 5.
Wizards of the Coast rejects D&D union effort, says it’s “not neutral”
Wizards of the Coast "doesn't intend to voluntarily recognize the D&D or Studio X" teams' efforts to join the United Wizards of the Coast Union, according to a statement made on the Union's X dot com account on Wednesday, October 14, and confirmed by a spokesperson for WotC. The matter will now be referred to the National Labor Relations Board, leading to a secret ballot in which all staff will vote to decide whether or not to adopt the union.

Star Wars X-Wing may be out of production, but its legacy lives on, with fan communities continuing to support the game, and exciting new projects from former designers. I spoke to Max Brooke, a former Fantasy Flight Games designer who worked on both editions of X-Wing, to learn about his upcoming new game Precipice - a mech piloting wargame designed to make you feel like you're really in the cockpit.

Why is Lugia EX suddenly the #5 most costly Pokémon card of all time?
A copy of Lugia EX from the Black and White era Pokémon TCG set Plasma Storm has just sold for a staggering $660,000. The sale took place on October 12, 2026 on the auction site Fanatics Collect and it appears to be the largest sum of money anyone has ever spent on this particular card.
As D&D staff fight to unionize, Project Lamordia reads like a cry for help
To steal a phrase from Critical Role, I can't prove this is allegory. It's unlikely that the Dungeons and Dragons design team released a new module just to make a political statement. But, boy, is it hard not to read into Project_Lamordia. D&DBeyond's new scifi Ravenloft module has some eerie parallels to the real-life labor issues at Wizards of the Coast.
Warhammer 40k Boltgun 2 dev promises “bloodthirst and rage” from its new daemon enemies
The original Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun was an unexpected classic, a high-octane retro FPS that pitted the player against relentless hordes of pixellated cultists, Chaos Space Marines, and the daemon servants of the ruinous powers. With the sequel Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 due to release the same day this article drops, I took the opportunity to interview lead designer Matt Bone to learn how the sequel has taken the forces of Chaos to new extremes.
“It shouldn’t be fun, and it’s not”: What playing the world’s longest board game is really like
The Campaign for North Africa is an infamously arcane war board game, which takes longer to play than the WW2 campaign it depicts. Andy and James, a pair of friends from England, have completed the six turn tutorial, playing weekly for two entire years, and Stockholm syndrome is fast setting in.

DnD stats explained in simple language
When you want to sling a spell, dodge a blow, or fell a foe, it's the six basic Dungeons and Dragons stats that decide your fate. Every time you roll a D20 to take an action, one of your character's fundamental stats (a.k.a. ability scores) comes into play - sometimes saving you from a bad roll, sometimes dooming you in spite of a good one. Understanding how DnD stats work is crucial to the whole game - and this simple guide will teach you everything you need to know.
Top 50+ most expensive rare Pokémon cards of all time
What are the most expensive Pokemon cards in the world? After 30 years of regular Pokémon TCG releases, there are quite a few staggeringly valuable cards out there. YouTuber Logan Paul famously blew over $5 million on a Pikachu Illustrator in 2022 and sold it in 2026 for $16 million, but that's just the tip of the iceberg. We've searched online auction houses and scoured Pokémon history to find the 69 most valuable rare Pokémon cards ever sold (nice).
This magnetic, modular D&D DM screen is the most elaborate I've ever seen
Dungeons and Dragons DM screens are a funny thing. In the age of laptops and tablets, they're less relevant than ever. What rules can they hold that a digital screen can't? What do they conceal, except for dice rolls? Despite this, us D&D fans are reluctant to give them up. In fact, we keep iterating on them, finding ever more elaborate ways to present and conceal information at the table.
The best Warhammer 40k games
From tabletop-flavored strategy titles to grungy first person shooters, Games Workshop's grimdark universe has spawned over 70 videogames since Warhammer 40,000 first hit tabletops in 1987. Many of them have, sadly, sucked - but we 40k fans are nothing if not persistent. Gathered for your edification, these are the best Warhammer 40,000 games you can play right now, from recent releases to retro classics.
Hunt for Blackbeard is a thrilling board game about myth, history, deception, and piracy
Everything you know about Blackbeard is, probably, wrong. Captain Edward Thatch's career of piracy has been glamourised so extensively that even historians often struggle to separate fact from fiction. Every aspect of his life has been embellished, from birth to death. This sensational legacy gives you ideas about what a Blackbeard board game should look like.
Games Workshop seeks math-minded designer to make Warhammer 40k “fair, balanced, and enjoyable”
Games Workshop is recruiting a new Technical Designer for Warhammer 40,000, a designer-cum-editor who will "be responsible for establishing quality standards by developing tools to improve efficiency, and ensuring the mathematical and logical robustness of our game mechanics". If you think you can do a better job making Warhammer 40,000 "fair, balanced, and enjoyable" than the hardworking designers at Games Workshop HQ have achieved so far, now's your opportunity to put your money where your mouth is.
MTG Reality Fracture’s Alchemy cards are so good they deserved to be in the main set
Wizards of the Coast has begun to reveal Reality Fracture: Alchemy cards, the digital-only Magic: The Gathering format's final swan song before it is officially consigned to the scrap heap. And the more I see, the more I wish these were 'real' card designs, part of the set proper. We could've had an Urza-style Jace saga land, and a blue-white Quintorious? You can't see me, but imagine that I'm shaking my fist at the sky.
These Tag Team Pokemon cards are exploding in price - and they’re not even that rare
If you've got a binder full of rare Pokémon cards from the Sun & Moon era, now could be the time to re-evaluate what you're holding onto. Demand has been steadily growing for an overlooked class of cards: Tag Team Pokémon, characterful full art holo rares featuring two or more monsters fighting side by side, printed in 2019.
Critical Role’s new canon Exandria series stars Matt Mercer, Marisha Ray, and a bunch of VTubers
Critical Role just announced a new Daggerheart series, and it takes us back to Exandria. Matt Mercer will DM Shattered Legends, a new, canon mini-series. While fellow founder Marisha Ray also stars, the rest of the cast are more unexpected. Shattered Legends is made in collaboration with holo-live, a Japan-based virtual talent group. That means the rest of the players are all VTubers.

We all have our favorite Pokémon, whether it's the first starter Pokémon you ever recruited, a cutey-pie like Pikachu with great EV and IV values you train into a hero, or a game-breaking Legendary who led us to victory as the Pokémon League Champion. But which is the strongest Pokémon of them all? This guide has the answers!
