New here, mostly lurking in the Black Library section
Hi all. I've been reading the Black Library section for a few days before signing up, mainly the Bjorn the Fell-Handed thread and the one asking whether Cannibal Gate is worth buying. I'm a lot more into the novels and lore than the tabletop side, though I do have a small box of unpainted marines sitting on a shelf that I keep promising to deal with. Which of the recent Horus Heresy novels would you start with if you've only read the first few? Its hard to tell where the series picks up for someone coming back to it.
Astra Militarum Crusade Pack v11.0
Updated the Astra Militarum Crusade rules for Eleventh Edition. Also brought forward Warlord Traits and Relics from the Ninth Edition codex as additional Battle Honors and Crusade Relics.

How do GW improve sales?
Share price is down, profit growth is slowing, how do they realistically improve sales? My thoughts Encourage cross system sales: we wont get back to chaos daemon glory days but letting new Custodes be in 30k AND 40k was player friendly. Knights and Admech could benefit from this too. Slight contradiction: more plastic 30k primarchs Primarchs: Russ has been teased enough Primarchs for Legions Imperialis: this is free money, tiny plastic Thunderhawks sold like crazy All Black Library ltd editions be (partly) print on demand.
Random 40k Errata Drop
A few seemingly unannounced erratas and FAQs have popped up on the Warhammer Community download page. Adepta Soroitas Adeptus Mechanicus Adeptus Custodes Imperial Agents Leagues of Votann Tyranids Space Marines Aeldari WH40K Event Companion These seem to mostly match the app changes that also went live today, however the document for IA implies they have lost the Aquila Killteam unit for some reason (app still has it).
Death Company
Succumbing to the Black Rage, it is said those have touched the Lethe/Oblivion River and lost themselves. They bear blue markings symbolizing the Rivers of the Underworld, namely the Lethe they have drank from and the Styx which they walk down, approaching the realm of Hades. They are watched over by the Chaplain Marcus (counts-as Lemartes).
THE APOTHECARION: LAST WALL CHARITY EVENT
The Apothecarion is running the 3rd Chapter of their event to raise money for Children's Cancer Research. Here are all the details, including a painting contest this year!! Playtesting Angelic Inheritors
I have just had my first game using Angelic Inheritors and I am a lot more impressed than I expected to be. My initial impression of AI was that it was over-costed and was a downgrade over its 10th edition incarnation. But actually rerolling 1s to Hit and Wound is pretty strong in a post-OOM world with the new Marine profile. I just played my first 1000 point game against Necrons and tabled them Turn 3. My list is below:
It’s all Greek to me
I forgot about starting this thing...should go ahead and put it to use for my Blood Angels Successor Chapter. I'm taking the Greek theme/aspects and cranking it up hardcore. Name is a WIP, I can be indecisive. Ethereal or Aethereal Angels is currently high on the list.

Power surge
Hi Folks, The Power Generator I wanted to add in my 12MoH pladge is not fully painted. After a plasticard job, I ended with this big square box to be painted. I initially though about copy/pasting a real world colour scheme for Diesel groups such as that one: I have kept the inspiration of the dark colour for bottom reinforcements and shifted to red (as painting yellow ain't my stuff), but I gave up bicolour stuff on the main panels. Why? Just because I forgot mainly.
Initial Plans
So far, what I have decided is primary color will be Maroon, including shoulder trim. The inside of the shoulder will be colored to designate Wing/Company. For other skull/Aquilla details, I am still deciding on Silver, Gold, or White. I will probably use the Dark Angels emblem but a different color, still up in the air but leaning towards either yellow/gold or green. The cloaks/cloth I am debating between dark green or black.

2 Color Schemes in 1 Army?
Okay, once again my color scheme ADD has kicked in by watching two historically accurate* films back to back (300 and 300 Rise of an Empire). I was thinking that I could take my spearmen and paint then up in brass and red like the Spartans. And paint my Sword and Shield troops and vehicles like the Athenians Would it be dumb to have 2 different colored cloaks in the army? What are your thoughts? *in comparison to the other movies I saw over the weekend: Gods of Egypt and Godzilla (1954).
Combat Patrol as a Stand-Alonge Game Mode - How Is It?
I'm curious about your thoughts and experiences with Combat Patrol. Is it accessible and relatively easy to pick up? Are the teams balanced? Is the "game mode" fun? Please share your thoughts. I'm asking because I'm looking for a game-ready excuse to paint different armies and am considering either picking up a couple of Combat Patrol boxes or getting into Kill Team.
