Have sales slowed for most online stores?
I’ve been in store front for almost 20 years and this is my first year doing online, started my LLC in January m. Long story short, end of August was great then it’s fallen off a cliff. I have been so slow on my website and eBay it’s insane. Is this normal for Ecom? I mean, I was expecting a dip at the beginning of September when school started but we are well past that now submitted by /u/FrigginMasshole [link] [comments]
Burnout
I’ve read the tips for managing burnout but I just need to vent that I am burnt out. Even with having more time off I have no motivation to work in or on my business. Business is small and doing well. Im just bored of doing the same thing for 6 years. Financially, I am able to step back and let others work in the business for me. Any recommendations for how long I should do that in hopes I’ll get my mojo back? I know it’s hard to say but looking for experience from others in the same boat. Thanks :)
I built a 6-foot wedding arch and want to start renting it out to venues. Where do I start?
Hi everyone! I’m looking for some advice from anyone who has experience in the wedding/event industry or running a small rental business. I built a 6-foot wedding arch for my own wedding, and I’ve been thinking about turning it into a small side business by renting it out for weddings, bridal showers, and other events. Ideally, I’d love to establish relationships with local wedding venues and event centers rather than relying entirely on individual bookings, but I’m not sure how that process typically works.
Cosmetic wholesale
Hi everyone! 😊 Has anyone here ordered cosmetics from Sunmore Cosmetics (Lydia) or D&T Beauty? I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience. Were the products authentic? Did everything go smoothly with the order and shipping? Did you have any issues or concerns? I’m considering placing an order, so I’d love to hear your honest feedback before making a decision. Thank you! 🙏💕 submitted by /u/Longjumping_Sock2223 [link] [comments]
For those who do bookkeeping / monthly reports - how do you auto-categorize Stripe, Shopify, Square, bank transactions?
Question for people handling bookkeeping for small businesses / side projects - How are you currently categorizing transactions from Stripe, Shopify, Square, bank CSVs for your monthly reports? I've been doing it manually and it takes hours - same descriptions every month that need the same category. I made a small prototype on the side to solve my own problem: It's a simple rules engine - e.g. "If description contains X, force category to Y".
Local Small Businesses
Hey everyone with small businesses that still require you to run every aspect, I ran a window cleaning company and enjoyed the overhead side but it was hard doing it all. I don’t have a service to charge for, just getting it out there now. But I did wanna see if anyone’s having trouble with their business numbers and maybe I could help? My corporate job is draining and I really enjoyed this stuff so even if it’s minor please message me! Could be issues like: - getting sales but not seeing profit - busy but not seeing more revenue
UK M.Arch + Canadian Design grad working in China supply chain. Transitioning to self-employment — where would you find your first client?
Hey everyone! I've been thinking about starting my own business for a while, and I guess I'm at that point where I could really use some advice from people who've actually done it. A little about me: I studied Art & Design in Canada and got my master's in Architecture in the UK. But life didn't exactly go as planned. Instead of becoming an architect, I ended up working in international events, business development, and eventually export trading and sourcing in China. Looking back, it's been a pretty interesting journey.
Retail Store Finance Guidance
Looking for financial guidance for small retail business. We've been in business for a few years now and have had a successful go, yet my business partner and I always feel like we're "winging it" financially. So far we've been well in the clear and business has done better than we'd ever expected, but we'd like to have a good grasp on finances rather than the limited snapshot we currently live off of. Current situation: We're a retail shop with very small overhead costs. We have 60 day terms on 90% of our merchandise we order for the store.
Sales tax built in
Hello guys! Im new to selling and retails. Right now im selling products for $15 flat. No sales tax added at the end. Im planning to just build in the sales tax in that $15 already. Is this ok? And on the filling day do I just add all gross sales and deduct the sales tax % amount? And thats what I file? Doing a quick google research and. I think im understanding it correctly. Ill just add all gross income, do a bulk “reverse-tax” and that number is what i’ll put on the nontaxable sales/deduction section on cdtfa.
How should I deal with this situation? (Small business employee rant)
I’m 17 in online school and I’m working two jobs to save up for college right now. One of them is at a local coffee shop, I’ll probably be quitting this job next spring or mid summer at the latest but I’m considering doing it early because of a lot of different reasons right now. I’m just kind of looking for guidance/advice on how I should go about this?
Funding to re-open gas station
Recently bought gas station that was shut down in 2020. It was in operation when it closed. I have a quote for $200k to put new fuel dispensers and a new underground storage tank. I have applied through SBA and get denied because they require 2 years in business. What avenues are recommended to take to secure funding? submitted by /u/UPHustler906 [link] [comments]
What do you actually give someone before handing them your social media?
I ran the brand and marketing side of my family's bakery for a while. when I stepped back and someone else took it over, it was maybe a few weeks before the instagram and the flyers stopped looking like the same shop. nobody did a bad job tbh, I'd just never written any of it down. for those of you who've handed social media to an employee or a family member, what did you actually give them? a one page doc, canva templates, or do you still approve every post yourself? submitted by /u/Clean_Candidate_5496 [link] [comments]
Are pedal boats still a good attraction for family-friendly destinations?
Family-friendly activities can make a lake, resort, or recreational park more enjoyable. Pedal boats seem like a simple option for visitors who want to spend time on the water without a motorised ride. For people managing tourism or recreation businesses, are pedal boats still worth considering? What matters most: safety, maintenance, visitor demand, or operating costs? submitted by /u/PracticalFondant5291 [link] [comments]
Creative ideas for marketing swag?
My business works in the real estate industry and fall/winter is convention season. We are usually set up as a vendor and sponsor of several coventions and always have some branded swag to give away to anyone who stops by our booth. We always have the usual items such as bags, pens and pads and try to have at least one other item that is somewhat of a standout or has some utility outside of the convention. Most recently we've done magnetic "chip clips" and those rubber grippers for opening jars.
What is your trick to collect from non-paying B2B customers?
We are in B2B sector, and payment is regular wire-transfer, and we face a challenge with some of clients who are not paying on-time despite consistent follow-ups and reminders. We've used a method to send a notification as a heads-up for an upcoming invoices, and this seems helped in some way collecting on time. What is your method/trick that worked with you to push them paying on time? or at least to pay the due amount? submitted by /u/_1x1 [link] [comments]
