We end the week with some action, first up we have a disco-punk, space horror action game, followed by the 8th installment in a well known air combat franchise.
Microsoft CEO Says Xbox’s “Streamlining” Is “Great To See” Following Recent Layoffs
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella called Xbox's ongoing job cuts "great to see," commenting on the restructuring led by Xbox CEO Asha Sharma. The remark follows Xbox's latest layoffs, which cut 268 more jobs on top of the 1,600 eliminated earlier this year, part of a plan that has already folded studios together, reshuffled franchises like Halo, and pushed several developers out entirely. Nadella made the comment on the Sources Podcast with Alex Heath during a broader interview about Xbox's place within Microsoft.

PNY Reportedly Denies Melted RTX 5090 Warranty Claim, Says Native PSU Cables Not Covered
PNY has allegedly denied a warranty claim on a burned-out GeForce RTX 5090 and closed the customer's ticket after he asked which part of the warranty it was citing. He says the card ran at stock clocks with no overclock, a power limit set below default, and was idle when it failed. The cable he was using was not a cheap third-party adapter; it came bundled with his ASRock PG-1600G power supply.
Halo Studios’s Next Halo Game Was “Years Away”

AnyPS5 Project Skips Emulation Entirely, Aims to Port PlayStation 5 Games to PC Directly
A new open-source project called AnyPS5 aims to run PlayStation 5 games natively on Windows and Linux, without emulation. Its GitHub page describes it as a tool that relinks PS5 executables into the host system's native format and reimplements the console's system libraries for dynamic linking, similar in concept to Wine or Proton. Since the PS5 already runs on x86-64 Zen 2 hardware, close to a modern PC, AnyPS5 skips CPU emulation and recompiles shaders into SPIR-V for Vulkan instead.
NVIDIA Files Patent for AI Tool to Help Developers Diagnose GPU Performance Issues
NVIDIA has filed a patent for an AI tool that could help developers diagnose and optimize GPU performance issues through a plain-language chat interface. The application, published September 17 and first spotted by Respawn First, describes a system connecting an LLM-based chat agent directly to GPU profiling tools, letting a developer ask about a performance problem and get back custom-generated code that digs through diagnostic data to find the answer. The patent describes separate agents for general GPU questions versus report-specific ones,
Intel Expects 14A Node to Be Within 5% of TSMC’s A14
