Ducks Recall Roger McQueen From AHL San Diego
First reported by Elliotte Friedman, the Anaheim Ducks are calling up forward Roger McQueen. The 20-year-old is entering year one of his three-year entry-level contract, signed back in April out of his freshman campaign at Providence College, scoring 27 points in 36 NCAA games. Further to that, on his amateur tryout agreement, which slid the ELC to this being his first, he added three points in seven games to cap off 2025-26. His AAV is $1.075MM, so with Anaheim sending down defenseman Travis Mitchell earlier, this offsets the move monetarily,

A player dealing with a similar situation, Detroit’s Dylan Larkin had his “C” stripped and was booed
Canadiens Recall Owen Beck
The Montreal Canadiens shared earlier today that forward Owen Beck has been recalled from AHL Laval. No corresponding transaction was made, although the move is a result of Florian Xhehaj’s day-to-day status while Oliver Kapanen is on injured reserve. Montreal now sits at 12 healthy forwards, and if Xhehaj is unable to go tomorrow against Buffalo, Beck could draw into the lineup. For what it is worth, head coach Martin St. Louis utilized 11F/7D in Saturday’s shootout win over Detroit.

Central Notes: Bedard, Morrissey, Stars
Chicago Blackhawks superstar Connor Bedard is “trending” towards playing tomorrow against the Pittsburgh Penguins, head coach Jeff Blashill told the media today. (via Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times) The Blackhawks’ captain is still working his way back from offseason shoulder surgery and has not yet made his 2026-27 debut. Bedard became a non-contact participant in Blackhawks practice a week ago, and upgraded to full contact yesterday. Now, it seems his return to Chicago’s lineup is imminent.
