  Bike just to trail hop?

I’m looking into dual sport bikes. I’m interested in using it as a dirtbike 99.9% of the time. However in California some good trails are separated by roads that require street legal bikes. So I’d need something that has a plate just to ride like half a mile or so down a road to the next trail. What bike do you guys think matches this situation? I wouldn’t need something with high top speed or good road comfort/stability, basically just a license plate.

  Xr650l tires?

I just bought a 93 xr650l and it’s starting to need a new front tire. The only off-roading I’ve done was a klr650 on e705s. I was wondering how much of an upgrade Shinto 244 or kenda k270s are. I have a street bike so I’m not concerned about road grip all the much. I’m only really worried about lifespan and offroad grip. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated! submitted by /u/Odd_Western_7384 [link] [comments]
