6 Things to Check Before Buying a Motorcycle for a Custom Café Racer Project
Building a custom motorcycle starts long before the first component is removed or the first modification is made. Whether the goal is a café racer, scrambler, bobber, or tracker, choosing the right donor bike can determine the project’s cost, complexity, and ultimate success. A motorcycle that appears inexpensive at first can quickly become a financial burden if it has structural damage, expensive mechanical faults, or missing components. A careful pre-purchase inspection helps identify potential problems before they become costly surprises.

Digital Privacy Tips for Motorcycle Travelers: Staying Secure on the Road
Motorcycle travel offers a sense of freedom that’s hard to match. Whether you’re riding across the country or exploring unfamiliar back roads for a weekend adventure, staying connected has become an essential part of the journey. Riders rely on navigation apps, accommodation bookings, weather forecasts, and mobile banking while travelling. However, using online services away from home can expose your personal information if you’re not careful. While premium security tools can help, safe online habits remain your most effective defense.
Dropped a half ring into hidden oil return port!
2013 Ducati Monster 1100 evo Time to freak out? I plugged the two visible return ports in the rocker bay and thought I was good. Turns out there’s a nearly invisible 3rd port, only saw it once I got out a mirror. I think the collet went into it. I’m going to go magnet fishing, if that doesn’t work I’ll drain the oil and hopefully it’s on the magnet of the oil plug. Any other suggestions? Does this mean an engine tear down if I can’t find it? I’m new to this stuff with Ducati, any wisdom appreciated. submitted by /u/BeemerCalm
Alpinestars T-SPS Air V2 Waterproof
Hi everyone, I recently bought the Alpinestars T-SPS Air V2 jacket after entering my measurements on the official Alpinestars website. I entered around seven measurements, if I remember correctly, and the recommended size was M (Medium), so that’s the size I ordered. I usually wear size M in T-shirts and long-sleeved shirts. I’ve attached some photos showing how the jacket fits me. For reference, I’m 1.76 m tall and weigh 75 kg. The jacket doesn’t feel tight around my body or arms, but the front seems a little short.
Took pictures of riders at the last trackday of the season!
This September 27 was the last trackday of the season so I decided to go and check out the dudes in their leather suits! 😋 Since it was the last trackday in six months, I decided to try out panning shots for the first time to get a sense of motion in the pictures and they turned out pretty well. I'm sure Adobe Lightroom could help improve the lighting in some of these pics but I'll try to another time. Hello! I hope this does not break any rules here. If I could trouble you for 5-10 minutes of your time, would you be willing to complete a short survey? Do I have this tailbag secured well enough?
Wildheart PVC500D 40L bag. Never ridden with a tailbag before. I have the front bag straps looped through the passenger pegs on each side, and the back straps looped through the license plate arm. It feels secure but I want to make sure. Also the extra bit of the straps are twisted around the secured bit of the strap and Velcroed to it. I'm just worried about the straps coming loose and getting caught in the wheel while riding. submitted by /u/MasterFondler69 [link] [comments]
Which Ducati to complement a S1000XR?
Hey all, I'm shopping for my first Ducati and am looking for something to complement my S1000XR. The SXR is an amazing sport touring bike for long days in the saddle but I'm looking for something just for the canyons for 1-3 hour riding. For that use case, which of the following 3 options would you go with? 2019 Ducati Monster 1200 25 Anniversary 2024 Ducati Monster 30th Anniversary 2025 Ducati Panigale V2S Not doing any track days, just riding in SoCal mountains on windy roads. Thanks for any feedback! submitted by /u/Havage

Video: Standing vs. Sitting For Off-Road Riding
If you’ve got a lot of experience as a street rider but none as a dirt rider, one of the first things to learn as you head off-road is the capability to stand while riding. This is especially true if you’re coming from cruiser world, where feet-forward riding is the norm, and it might not even be practically possible to stand on your cruiser’s footpegs. But if you’re going to ride the dirt, you’ve got to make that transition, and Barry Morris of Cross Training Adventure is here with some thoughts about the process.
