Ben Affleck lost 3 years to Starcraft, has strong Valorant opinions, and mourns RTSes as a genre, so there's solid odds he's one of our regular commenters
Unlike PC Gamer's UK editorial staff, Ben Affleck knows ball. Metaphorically, I mean. Though he probably also knows what the Miami Heat is. Speaking on the October 12 episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Affleck reflected—with a touch of regret—on the time Starcraft swallowed his entire life.

Steam sale deep cut alert: this ARPG originally developed for Nokia N-Gage is brilliant on Deck
Xanadu Next is a Diablo-esque JRPG originally developed by Nihon Falcom for Nokia N-Gage. Those bullet points were enough for me to grab it when Steam's algorithm surfaced it for me last week as part of the ongoing Autumn sale. I wasn't expecting it to be good, but I was definitely curious.
Got myself a Pip-Boy... sorry, I mean a ‘Rad-Lad’
Got myself a Pip-Boy! Sorry, for legal reasons, it's actually a "Rad-Lad." I recently bought my first ever smartwatch (a Garmin Vivoactive) and now my evenings are spent being completely inactive as I sit on the couch downloading cool watch faces and trying them out. This is a really impressive one called the Rad-Lad by MarekSoso that turns your watch into a Pip-Boy, complete with different tabs for time and date, body metrics, weather, and even a world map. You can even complete quests! It's pretty rad. All that's missing is VATS.
Developer gets a little too silly, recommends deadly psychoactive ingredient in its bad boy-themed cocktail
Fun, thematic videogame recipes are not new. Suggesting dangerous and potentially lethal ingredients, however? Well, Love and Deepspace might just be the first game to make such a bold move.

Jagex apologises after AI-generated six-fingered character: ‘That’s pretty hard to explain away’
RuneScape developer Jagex descended upon Birmingham (the British one, not the Alabama one) over the weekend with its annual RuneFest. As part of its RuneScape keynote, it showed off a trailer for its upcoming Dragon Slayer 2 quest which, er, featured a player character with six fingers and a bizarre sneaker-like sole on their very not-sneaker armoured shoes.

With a monster CPU? Yep, it’s still a good deal.
Prime Day is tomorrow and yet I doubt any deals will beat this OLED gaming monitor
G27G41ZDF: was $499.99 now $299.99 The cheapest OLED gaming monitor I'd recommend right now: you're getting a fast response time, high refresh rate, and everything else you expect from a modern OLED panel. Key specs: 27-inch | 1440p | 240 Hz | 0.03 ms | QD-OLED

Garry Newman responds to s&box criticism in lengthy YouTube comment: ‘I don’t like giving up on things, I am stubborn’
Facepunch founder Garry Newman (Garry's Mod, Rust, s&box) gave an emphatic, extensive mea culpa to the s&box community in a YouTube comment. Newman was responding to the latest video from Eridium, "S&box's Free To Play Weekend Isn't Enough," a highly critical state-of-the-game from the s&box-focused creator.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance studio co-founder says a lot of RPGs are ‘still games for teenagers,’ and that he’s ‘tired of all the RPGs where you are this chosen one’
In a recent interview with PC Gamer's Joshua Wolens, Warhorse Studios co-founder Martin Klima traced the inspirations for Kingdom Come: Deliverance back to boredom with the typical RPG—kill the dark lord, romance a companion or two, and so on. Klima added that this formula is still a mite too widespread even now for his tastes, and wondered if gamers haven't outgrown it by now.
Brigador devs: ‘The ’90s PC classics often taught really special things, but not because the story said, Wow, violence is bad!’
Brigador was a great sleeper hit of mech and simmy gaming, and studio Stellar Jockeys recently released its ambitious follow-up, Brigador Killers, into early access. I spoke to lead developers, brother duo Hugh and Jack Monahan, over the summer. They told me about the challenges of adding on-foot gameplay, the importance of not trying to please everyone, as well as why they emulate the "show, don't tell" morality and storytelling of '90s PC classics.
Oh crap Dark Souls turned 15
I somehow missed that Dark Souls turned 15 two weeks ago. Honestly, what do you even say about it that hasn't been said already? I guess that's why I'm relegating this to a quick post on the PC Gamer Hyperfeed™ rather than a 3-hour YouTube video called something like "The Haunting Ambiguity of Dark Souls 1." The game is undeniably hauntingly ambiguous, though, no word of a lie.
What does your dream videogame concert look like?
It feels like the last few years have seen a huge upsurge in videogame concerts, at least over here on British soil anyway. Undertale, The Legend of Zelda, Stardew Valley, The Witcher 3, Sonic, Metaphor: ReFantazio, Final Fantasy. The list goes on and on!

GTA 6 won’t be letting up on the satire: ‘sometimes you need to forego realism’
The promotional blitz for Grand Theft Auto 6 continues rolling out, with the latest example being a cover feature in Love, a fashion magazine that only publishes two issues a year. I guess you've got to reach the people who don't know what the Miami Heat is somehow.
Steam’s global top sellers are my Top of the Pops
Steam's global top sellers are my Top of the Pops A new entry for an older game, Cyberpunk 2077 is number 5 thanks to a 70% discount. Who let the dogs out? Wardogs continues its slow slide, dropping to number 4. Former number 1 EA Sports FC 27 slips as well, dropping back to number 3. Counter-Strike 2 is number 2 and will stay there until morale improves. Steam's new number 1, soaring over 30 places, is AION 2: a Korean MMO with the same art style they've all had since Lineage.

Deadlock’s new hero Rat King has over 100 voice lines dedicated to throwing rats at you
Gaming's worst-kept secret Deadlock received a humongous update earlier this week, one that redecorated its entire town and added six new classes for players to sink their teeth into. On the subject of teeth, one of these classes is a tank called Rat King, a giant humanoid rodent who started out as a fan concept before becoming part of Deadlock's official roster.
2026 is the year big brands have finally pushed gaming mouse technology forwards
I'm not sure niche brands would be able to change the industry like this.
Necks vs Milk experiment proves gamers like necks, hate milk
My experiment to see if gamers were as interested in milk as they are in necks has yielded conclusive proof that they are not. Those pageviews don't shown above don't lie. Gamers don't care about milk. Gamers only care about necks. I will focus more on neck-related content from now on. Please do not visit this website if you are looking for milk. Thank you.
Ace Combat director’s dreams made real
Well, I was mostly joking when I took credit for Ace Combat's director finally getting to fly in a real jet. Turns out our interview really was the catalyst. If anyone else has a dream waiting to be realized, give me a shout. Apparently I have the magic touch.

The Rat King has arrived
The votes are in—the first of Deadlock's six new heroes just dropped. The Rat King is here, and one of his abilities lets you throw a bunch of rats at people, like that Eminem meme.

You should buy Lorelei and the Laser Eyes
I played 2024's Lorelei and the Laser Eyes earlier this year, and it was a revelation—scratching exactly the kind of post-Blue Prince itch I'd been looking for. You go to a big mansion full of weird stuff, and solve puzzles to uncover an eerie mystery. The vibes are on point, and the puzzles find the exact right balance of difficulty—just enough friction to make you stop and think without tipping over into frustrating moon logic. And it passes the classic puzzle game sniff-test of being worth breaking out the notebook over.

Or at least to respect them. I'd settle for that. And if you feel like embarking on a journey of discovery, I can help with that, too.
Monitors are still the best deal in gaming
Fancy a gaming monitor with a 200 Hz refresh rate for less than $200?
I’ve decided the perfect mouse doesn’t exist, so now I swap between two of them
The odd thing about computer mice—gaming, ergonomic, or otherwise—is how subjective they are. I guess we've all got different hand shapes, finger lengths, and technical needs. I've been hunting for the perfect mouse for my particular hands for years now, and I've refined my selection down to two.
Metal desks nearly destroyed a Valorant tournament
Wireless gaming mice are great and have only gotten better with time. They're so good, in fact, that I would not go for a wired model unless I was really looking for a budget option. And yet it turns out wired mice were the best choice for the Valorant Champions tournament in Shanghai, where custom desks were apparently interfering with the signal.
Riot’s absurd expectations of player counts ‘in the high hundreds of thousands, if not millions’ doomed 2XKO from the start
The cost is too dang high.
TIL: The Steam Frame can be used as a pair of night vision goggles
I've yet to get my sticky mitts on the Steam Frame, as our review sample is in high demand. But I've just learned it can be used as a makeshift pair of night vision goggles, as demonstrated by YouTube channel azadovski. And that's just freaking cool.
Micro Center reportedly asking RTX 5090 buyers to declare they won’t export the card
With price gouging and some buyers exporting graphics cards to China, Micro Center is reportedly making customers swear they won't do the same. And with a signed declaration, it's maybe a bit more airtight than a pinky promise.
I hate scalpers but I’m not sure I love Sony’s brand loyalty test either
My kingdom for a reasonably priced and readily available bit of kit.
A tiny desktop gaming soundbar for AU$63 is a yes from me
Sound Blaster GS3: was $89.95 now $62.95 A gaming soundbar, you say? Well, it does have RGB. Aside from that, the form factor is purpose-built for a desktop arrangement (if you're a console or TV-centric gamer, you might as well go and look at a normal soundbar). This model fared decently in Ian Eveden's 76 / 100 review.
After a record-breaking September, ‘it’s safe to say Steam’s yearly revenue will blow past $20B for the first time’
The first six months of the year were Steam's biggest, thanks to continued growth in back-catalogue sales as well as blockbuster new releases like Forza Horizon 6 and Resident Evil Requiem. As industry analysts Alinea Analytics report, September was another record breaker based on their estimated figures.
9 new 2026 games on sale in the Steam Autumn Sale
Including three $70 games that are now under $50.
Houses I’d build in a survival game, part 2
Real houses that look like something I'd build in survival game, Part 2. My first house is always a square. But what happens when I acquire too many crafting benches to fit in my square? Time to build a loooooooong square. (Don't call it a rectangle: we're not fancy here.) It's blue because I crafted a buncha dye made from surplus blueberries and you know I'm gonna paint somethin' with it.
There’s something even scarier than Huggy Wuggy in the Playtime toy factory this weekend
It's been a while since I set foot nervously inside the Playtime Co. factory, but last time I was there I was hounded through the halls and air vents by a towering blue plush toy that wanted nothing more than to hug me to death.
There are so many games coming out in October you guys
We're all spoiled by choice this month.
If Ace Combat’s too pricey, this excellent indie alternative is on sale for just $12.50
And it's got better out-of-the-box HOTAS and VR support, too.
Talos Principle 2 is $3
The Talos Principle 2, my favorite puzzle game, is $3 during the Steam Autumn Sale. Croteam's Talos Principle sequel went underappreciated in 2023, which is wild, because this series is like if Aperture Labs dumped its entire warehouse of esoteric gizmos into the player's lap to tackle increasingly weird spatial conundrums. The puzzles are smart, peaceful, approachable, and many. Speaking from experience, it might be the greatest "podcast game" in the world.
One story about my first 30 minutes in this post-apocalyptic robot game led multiple people to buy it
ABOVE: A brief gameplay clip from Radiosol. You can't spend too long in the sunlight. "A journey through a desolate world burned by a planetary cataclysm"I related this experience in PC Gamer's work chat and multiple of us bought Radiosol, called by its developers "a journey through a desolate world burned by a planetary cataclysm," on the spot. It helps that it's only $9 on Steam, and that its jaggy megastructures look exceptionally cool.
How to conquer Kuttenberg
Bypassing Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's main quest by taking Kuttenberg myself.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance studio co-founder hopes Grand Theft Auto 6 will ‘blaze a trail’ to higher game prices
Warhorse co-founder Martin Klima says games keep getting more expensive to make, and that money has to come from somewhere.
‘We needed a potentially infinite resource of party members so that we could then kill them:’ Entropy dev James Wragg explains how you fit permadeath in a party RPG
Entropy is a very cool, very funky RPG you can play in early access right now. It's a turn-based ode to the likes of Final Fantasy 10 or Lost Odyssey, but it's also got some PC flair—lead developer James Wragg cites Fallout 1 and Games Workshop's tabletop Mordheim as major inspirations as well. I asked Wragg about the game's mercenary hiring and ambitious permadeath system in a conversation this past summer.
At last: I can build a home out of raw Windows Vista-era nostalgia
Frutiger Home is a house builder for those who yearn for the glossiest time in tech.
Myhouse.wad remains very cool
It rules that we still don't know who made myhouse.wad. The surreal, unsettling Doom mod had a sort of ARG-lite element to it: The mod's original creator is said to have died, with Veddge, the uploader, either having expanded on something he left behind—or, more troublingly, having found the haunted map among the original creator's possessions.
You can now buy more than 2,000 games for $5 or less on Steam
That's right: The 2026 Steam Autumn Sale is live.

I mean, I guess I sort of do.
Resident Evil’s executive producer explains the deeper meaning behind Requiem, and I just can’t get on board

I’m here to inform you the wrist rest included with the new Logitech G Pro X2 Rapid is very good and very wobbly
I'm here to inform you the wrist rest included with the new Logitech G Pro X2 Rapid is very good and very wobbly. Watch it wobble below. But more seriously, I enjoy this wrist rest so much that it's relegated my old HyperX one, which I previously swore by, to the floor. The giant and sturdy-but-slightly-wobbly silicon goodness that forms this one from Logitech is the best I've tried. It's hard, which is good ergonomically, but not quite as hard as wood. Perfect. Plus, wobble. Just a shame the keyboard that it comes with costs $230.
Where to find the Nangan region Treasure Hunt in Forza Horizon 6
This week it's spring in Forza Horizon 6 and there's another challenge to complete. We've got the Nangan Treasure Hunt to track down, and doing it will grant you some season progress. The British Automotive Festival Series is currently underway and there are a couple of season reward cars to grab, namely the Lotus Esprit V8 and Lotus Emira. Finding and smashing this chest will get you a little closer to earning them.
This lovingly ludicrous keyboard is a sad reminder of when Google at large had a sense of humour
Is this a piss take? Okay, this is definitely a piss take. Google Japan has posted a YouTube video showcasing the new Gboard Conveyor Belt Version. What we are talking about here, people, is "a keyboard whose keys are delivered straight to your finger tips." Literally.
The biggest upgrade I’ve made in 2026 is this cushion for my arse, thanks to the memory crisis
In short, I've been sitting on it.
I am here to save us all time by determining which of our most-played videogames would be more efficiently completed if you had a gun
If there's one thing I know about the age of information, it's that none of us have time for anything anymore, nor the attention spans to see them through. If I'm not getting a constant jitterbug hit of dopamine every two seconds from my doomscrolling, am I really awake? Don't answer that. I don't want to think about the answer to that.
Chiptune Mozart is really good
As someone who follows the game music scene closely, I am constantly on the lookout for interesting takes on NES classics. One of the best I've found in the last year has been Chips 'N Cellos, an artist who arranges classical music in the iconic style of Mega Man. The NES sound palette's fuzzy percussion and squeaking melodies are a perfect match for Bach, Mendelssohn, Mozart, and Dvorak, it turns out.
AOC jumps on the 1,000 Hz IPS gaming monitor bandwagon but this time with 0.1 ms pixel response
I reviewed the world's first 1,000 Hz monitor just the other day, a refresh rate that would have seemed barely comprehensible a couple of years ago. Now here comes another, this time from AOC. Pretty soon, no doubt, serious esport types won't get out of bed for less than quad-digit refresh rates.
Can you tell which of these images has been injected with DLSS 5?
I swear, it gets harder as you scroll down.

Arc Raiders’ is taking no prisoners when it comes to cheaters with permanent bans becoming the new normal: ‘No warnings. No second chances’
Embark is really pulling out all the stops for Frozen Trail.
Meta’s Muse mascot makes my skin crawl
I hate the new mascot for Meta's Muse AI assistant. The company unveiled the fluffy creature, as well as the Tamagotchi-esque Muse Charm device it will call home, (plus a VR headset that isn't really a VR headset) during its yearly Meta Connect conference last week.
The greatest RTS unit of all time, determined by democracy
Make your vote count.
I did every expedition in Arc Raiders and all I got was this t-shirt
I quite like it, though. The final expedition skin—at least for now, as Embark works out what it wants to do with the system—is pretty snazzy. It even has a cape. We won't see the new character prestige system until 2027, but even as someone who's taken part in every expedition, I'm glad it's getting some much-needed changes.
This new AMD APU is rumoured to be the chip that will power the long-awaited Steam Deck 2
As Final Fantasy 7 fans will know, it's 'Gainsborough' because 'Aerith Gainsborough'.
I have driven myself mad with Amazon’s gaming mouse price-per-gram score
You know, I'm something of a rodent scientist myself.
Our Fallout fanatics share their most controversial opinions
We’re probably not getting a new Fallout game until well into the 2030s, but that’s no reason to stop talking about them.
$30 extra for early access?
$30 extra just for early access and some cosmetics? I was a little taken aback to notice that the Gears of War: E-Day Premium Edition is $100, and all it gets you on top of the $70 regular edition is five days of early access starting October 1 and some skins (a "Bravo Squad Signature Weapon Pack" and five seasonal "customization packs"). I suppose this isn't really unusual today, when some games sell $60 skins, but I've gotta wonder who's biting on this kind of thing. It's gonna be on Game Pass in a week!
Henry conquers Kuttenberg
Coming tomorrow, I write about summoning an army (using mods) to conquer Kuttenberg in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. For Wenceslaus!
I want to hang out in Deadlock’s New York so bad, man
Don't mind me: I'm just seething over not being able to actually hang out in Deadlock's occult New York for real. As Elie noted earlier today, Deadlock's latest update made its map even more arresting, fleshing out Valve's accursed big apple with new district stylings and reworked lanes.
Valve says Deadlock is still too unfinished to release publicly, but has hero cosmetics and new game modes in the works
A new development update leaves us with more questions than answers.
Agony! Two life sims I really want to play launched back to back
Nivalis Nights Everyone's been waiting years for this cyberpunk "slice of life" and shop sim and I'm logging my nightly progress as my noodle bar empire begins. I enjoy a good shop sim, especially when there's decorating to do too. Nivalis Nights is moody and neon-drenched and has a deeper shop finances simulation than I was expecting. I may be sinking a lot of hours into this!

Asus TUF Gaming A16 gaming laptop review

Arc Raiders’ executive producer explains how he ‘wasn’t completely prepared for how hard’ a live service game would be and warns against the dangers of burnout
Arc Raiders had a meteoric rise, but with that came struggles.
Holy hell—Deadlock’s new map looks absolutely beautiful
10/10 would die in that jungle.
Do inductive clicks really help lower reaction time?
I tested whether the Superstrike’s clicks actually make me react quicker
Which Deadlock hero are you voting for first?
The City Never Sleeps update is here for Deadlock, which means one thing: It's time to get tribalistic about which strange critter will be making it to the Cursed Apple next. Personally, all of my bones are on Baba. I'm obsessed with her design. Making the Baba Yaga's chicken-legged hut a New York park bench? Incredible work.
This $30 gaming mouse proves you don't need 8,000 Hz polling at 65,000 DPI for a good time
As our Reece put it last year, the Glorious Model O Eternal is "Cheap AND cheerful". It looks solid, has decent enough specs, and is comfortable to hold. If you don't have competitive aspirations, it's a solid pick, and a great price too. Key specs: 55 g | 12,000 DPI | 1,000 Hz
You’re hyped for Deadlock’s new heroes and map updates, I’m hyped because of the 800 extra pre-match conversations, we are not the same
I kinda wish Deadlock wasn't a MOBA—not because I don't play MOBAs, you understand. I have a misspent youth of over 2,400 hours in Dota 2 and 340 of the suckers in Deadlock itself. I know ball. Rather, I think Deadlock's universe and characters are so damn charming that I'd love for more people to know about them, and the MOBA genre is kinda unassailable.
I have a reaction time 10x faster than pro gamers. Don’t believe me? The Human Benchmark just told me
I have a reaction time 10x faster than pro gamers. Don't believe me? The Human Benchmark just told me... I've been spending an unreasonable amount of time clicking things as fast as I can, this morning. I'm testing whether the Logitech G Pro X3 Superstrike's inductive clicks really help me react quicker compared to a regular switch click. Anyway, the usual range for reaction time on the Human Benchmark site is 100–300 ms. We might expect pro gamers to get towards 150 or 160 ms. Well I just got 16 ms. So which esports team is gonna pick me up?

I’m starting my Baldur’s Gate 3 Dark Urge run (again)
This is it. I'm finally going to do it. I'm finally going to start a new Baldur's Gate 3 save as the Dark Urge and see it through to the end. I'm supposed to be updating our BG3 mods list (which I swear I'll get to), but I've tacked on the additional sidequest of 'find mods I want to use in my Durge run.'

This neat WoW AddOn lets you jot down notes about kind strangers

With the addition of armor and weapon transmog in The Witcher 3 Remastered, you can now wear one set for fashion and another for stats, but that begs the question: which of the Witcher School sets is the best? There are four in the base game. 🦅 Griffin: A medium set for signs 🐈⬛ Feline: A light set for glass cannons 🐻

Former Elder Scrolls writer Kurt Kuhlmann is ’100% convinced’ a load-bearing bit of series lore was inspired by a typo
Speaking on the FRVR Podcast last week, former Bethesda writer and designer Kurt Kuhlmann was asked about the concept of "Dragon Breaks"—time getting all weird on account of magic and stuff—in Elder Scrolls lore. The biggest Dragon Break as far as Elder Scrolls fans are concerned: "The Warp in the West," the series' post-facto determination that every ending of The Elder Scrolls Chapter 2: Daggerfall happened at the same time. On account of magic and stuff, you see.

Here is your world-first comparison between original and remastered Tub Geralt in The Witcher 3
Let's cut to the chase: you come to this site for one reason and so do I—to examine photos of Geralt of Rivia in the bath. The Witcher 3's remaster launches tomorrow, so here is the most important before and after you will see on a videogames website. You know? I do think he looks better now. Shinier, anyway. Isn't that the point of a good soak, to shine yourself up?

I just think it’s neat
Taking some time here on the PC Gamer Hyperfeed™ to praise my favorite hardware purchase of the past year and go-to gamepad for the foreseeable future, the Steam Controller. I love its responsiveness, ergonomics, looks, ease of use, battery life, all of it. I'm not usually much of a paddle button user, but being able to map screenshot to R4 has been a real game-changer for me. Goose not included with purchase of Steam Controller.

Make the Steam Deck 2 a Steam PSP
The Steam Deck 2 remains a glimmer in Greg Coomer and Lawrence Yang's eyes, and the AI-driven RAMpocalypse makes it feel further away now than when the original Deck launched in 2022. But by god, I'll still wishcast about it.
Kibble & Locust Pizza
Just want to do an enthusiastic PC Gamer shout out to Villager97liam on the cyberpunkgame subreddit. They painstakingly recreated one of the dystopic foods of R. Talsorian Games' grim future: kibble and locust pizza.

This ambitious Half-Life 2 mod asks: what if Iron Lung had a submarine and an airship?
Like many people, I'm a big fan of quickfire submarine horror adventure Iron Lung. Yet despite receiving rave reviews and spawning a film adaptation by Markiplier, surprisingly few games have picked up its baton of vehicular terror. There are other submarine horror games like Barotrauma, as well as job-based horror games like Klekta and Shift at Midnight. But the former has quite a different vibe, while the latter pair seem more inspired by Lethal Company than David Szymanski's 2022 horror.

The next retro games coming to Steam are a pair of extremely 1990s run-and-gunners where Spanish Goku fights mutants
In the 1990s, Spanish videogame label Gaelco was responsible for a string of arcade games (and also electronic dartboards) that hardly anyone outside Spain knows about, bar perhaps the occasional breakout like World Rally.
Steam stays winning, but why
We do a lot of thinking about digital storefronts here at PCG, and a great struggle is that we don't want to demonstrate too much bias in favor of Steam. But Valve's platform just does it better.
What’s in Steam’s global top sellers this week?
Steam's global top sellers are my Hit Parade. Dropping back 3 places this week is Dota 2, hanging in at number 10 in its 460th week in the charts. Did you know Mr. Brightside by The Killers has held the UK pop charts in a stranglehold for the last 520(!) weeks? A new entry at number 9 for Dressmaker. More than just another shop sim, this is serious seamstress simulation. Fashion hasn't been this much fun since Bowie. Rocketing up 58 places to number 8 is Total War: Warhammer 3, thanks to its latest single, Lords of the End Times.
Between 70 and 80% of Blood Bowl 3 games were solo
You'll know this frustration if you've ever been part of the community around a game that has both singleplayer and multiplayer modes. People who prefer one to the other are always convinced the other cohort doesn't exist. "Nobody plays this game in a different way to me and my friends, and anyone who says they do is lying."
Portrait mode
It was Pathfinder: Kingmaker's eighth birthday yesterady, so I'd like to shout out one of my all-time favorite bits of fantasy character art. This Orc assassin portrait basically captured my go-to, home base character for every fantasy RPG: I like being sneaky, I like doing DPS with a short sword or two, and I like orcs.

The cure for missing old electronics
I've found the cure for missing classic electronics with buttons and dials and LEDs and cool stuff like vacuum tubes. Unfortunately, it's pretty expensive, and other people will most likely be indifferent to your pursuit of this hobby, which you will practice alone, for yourself, possibly next to a potted plant. It's synthesizers.
Konami had the best booth at TGS 2 years in a row
Konami really goes all-out for Tokyo Game Show. It had the coolest booth at the convention two years in a row on the strength of extremely good cosplay. Last year it was thanks to the perfectly creepy student from Silent Hill f, while this year Castlevania got the spotlight. I shot a quick video of the actor playing Belmont's Curse protagonist Rose Belmont, but other times I walked by there were actors for Trevor Belmont and Dracula giving their best runway looks.

My first MMO character #8: Mollie Taylor
My first MMO character was... Brown Cat Born: Oh god, er, 2005, probably? Game: Toontown Online I wasn't cool enough to be playing World of Warcraft or RuneScape. No, instead I was throwing pies and squirting gag flowers across the blindingly bright, Disney-themed streets of Toontown Online. It was the House of Mouse's stab at an MMO for children. Ironically, one all about defeating giant, greedy corporations and rescuing small businesses from the "cogs" that would take over and turn their colourful storefronts into lifeless grey towers.
What insiders say Halo Studios was up to before losing Halo: ‘The next Halo game was years away’
In the wake of Microsoft gutting Halo Studios to a skeleton crew and passing off the series to Activision, new reports from insiders tell a believable story about what was happening in Halo Studios as the plug got pulled. The accounts come from The Verge's Tom Warren (longtime Microsoft beat writer) and YouTuber Rebs Gaming (whose sources within the Halo machine are often accurate).

Papers, Please: Your decisions as a shopkeeper have an effect. If you spot someone on the wanted list coming in to your store, you can report them to security for a reward—but keep in mind they may be members of the resistance fighting against the cruel dystopia.
My first MMO character #8: Jessica Kinghorn
My first MMO character was... Sakura-Lola Born: 2004? Maybe? Game: RuneScape As a child who was not willing to try to convince their parents to send money to a strange company on a monthly basis, I had resigned myself to looking at MMOs like Final Fantasy XI longingly from afar. After being introduced by my best friend, the browser-based RuneScape was it for me…well, at least until we got a bit older and began devoting all of our time to Gaia Online.

This pro player told me why he ditched the Superstrike for the Superlight
I found yxngstxr's candidness fantastic, here, considering we were at a Logitech G Play event when he said these words to me—an event surrounding the launch of the X3 Superstrike, no less. I trusted what he was saying: he liked the Logitech G Pro X2 Superstrike and tried it for a while, but found it inconsistent, and had heard about it having a front-weighted balance.
