Feeling behind on retirement
I’m 51, and I can’t help feeling that I’m running out of time to retire comfortably. My portfolio is around $721k, with JNJ, WM, NVDA, SCHD, PG and PEP among my main holdings. It generates about $16k a year in dividends, and I reinvest everything. I know I’ve made progress, but seeing other people retire early makes me wonder how many more years I’ll have to work. For those who’ve already retired, how old were you when you finally made it? submitted by /u/ExpressionFar7993 [link] [comments]
Why do most suggest growth over dividends for young people?
I’m 16 and I have been investing for a few years. I have always liked the idea of dividends. Recently I have been buying into PEP since they have a decent yield, just a few hundred dollars a month so I can grow my position and dividend. I think the market is too high right now which is why I have been buying PEP since it holds well during a bear market. I also have DRIP on! So why do most people suggest growth for young people? Also what would you do with your money if you were my age again? Thank you! :)
Anyone NRA from a country with no US tx-treaty and holding GS GPI* or NEOS ETFs ?
Hi all, I'm not from US nor US-resident, living in a country with no US tx-treaty and wanting to buy some Goldman GPI* and NEOS funds. Anyone in same situation can inform how those dividend payments are being taxed, if they withhold the regular 30% and them they it pay-back at the end of the year, or if even they don't withhold any and dividends reach your account intact monthly? Tks! submitted by /u/DaleAguaAlMono [link] [comments]
Getting Paid 5%+ to Wait: Treasury Yields at Multi-Year Highs Make Bonds Sexy Again
Equities have been crushing it this year, but long-term Treasuries have been moving the other way — 10-Year Treasury Notes now hit 5.24% and 30-Year yields sit at 5.60%, those multi-year highs no one was talking about a year back. The best part? You’re getting 5-5.6% annual coupon even if yields don’t move an inch, that’s a free positive floor to lean on while you wait for that eventual rate drop that locks in extra capital gains.
You have reached the end of this list.
