If a specific rechargeable device recommends using a 5v charger, what would happen if a higher voltage charger was used?
A lot of the standard wall usb adapters I see are 5v. However, a few portable power banks I’m interested in all seem to be listed as higher voltage (15-20v). Would these not be safe to use? I don’t want to damage my device or cause long term battery issues. submitted by /u/eatnsle3p [link] [comments]
Which Alkaline Battery Brand Has Leaked on you the most?
I am trying to find actual Alkaline batteries that won’t leak or at least won’t leak before I get a chance to replace them. I have a feeling Duracells are the main culprits as non of my devices with Energizers with the battery meter back in the day have failed, but all my devices with Duracells have leaked and destroyed my Gameboy, my smart lock (they were basically new batteries). Anyway, I want to see what brands people have experienced the most leaks. View Poll submitted by /u/Psychological-Hall22 [link] [comments]
Weird results when recharging batteries
Seems like every time I go to recharge my batteries I get different results. Some indicate as recharged in 10 minutes but clearly are not. And others will sit for hours on end (over night pictured) and never complete. These are all new batteries (less than 10 cycles). Maybe the charger is just trash? Any advice on a quality charger? submitted by /u/Malfeitor1 [link] [comments]
Rebuilt another battery 7.5ah EGO 56v level Expert
Recently be wanting to try and rebuild an ego battery for fun. Bought a couple 7.5ah and 5ah off eBay for parts not working bought 112 Ampace JP30P1 cells and waited. Well this weekend I had received cells and 1 of the 7.5ah so I went to it. 3 hours Saturday and another 3 hours Sunday. Reassembled late afternoon Sunday and wow this thing is freaking amazing. There is so little voltage sag now it rips hard on 880 cfm blower and anything I use it with. And lasts forever.
2000 charge cycles🎉🎉
I just hit 2040 charge cycles on my base model iPhone 12 which now has 78% battery health which I don’t believe cuz it’s been saying that for a while. Also I got this phone brand new 4 years ago from Verizon and it was at 100% battery health then. I get like around 3hpurs before it dies from 100%. I go through about 2 charge cycles a day now. Also my battery has not swelled even a tiny bit. submitted by /u/ThirdMonster529 [link] [comments]
Anyone got one of these to work properly? 20v LVP
they are supposed to protect 20v batteries from overdischarge. its supposed to break the circuit when the input voltage goes under 15v. i have ten of them. and i have tried 4, and all of them let the voltage go down to 12.8v or something. anyone had any experience with these? can i mod them to make them work? submitted by /u/ProfessionNo6244 [link] [comments]
