HAIR 0.17.5 is out and takes Tuya codes… Paste the ir_code_to_send value from Zigbee2MQTT into the Clipper or a command’s editor and it is converted to Pronto (38 kHz is assumed, since Tuya codes don’t record a carrier). I also added Broadlink base64 codes to work the same way. 🍻 It takes one code per paste. LMK how it works! 💈 ~ DAB

Free-shelly-ota: put your own ESPHome firmware on Shelly Gen2/3/4 over the air (testers wanted)
Hi all, I built a tool that puts your own ESPHome firmware on a Shelly over the air, without opening the device for the flash itself. It takes the official OTA package from Shelly, swaps in your ESPHome image, and hands the result to the stock updater (Shelly.Update). It checks the device first and refuses when the update would land in the wrong slot. With ESPHome’s bootloader in the package, later ESPHome OTAs just work. 📦 Repository: 📖 One page per device (pins, ESPHome

Hello, would it be possible to specify the configuration options in the compose file in place of the dedicated config.yaml? distributing u2m to different machines would be far easier being able to modify only the compose (-> portainer stacks) and not also moving a config file around… Thanks

Echo Dot 3rd gen (2018) as a fully local Assist satellite, keeping Amazon’s mic array and wake word engine
I’ve been using this for several days and it has been great. microWakeWord is working wonderfully (wake words generated via tatertotterson by request https://github.com/TaterTotterson/Tater-Wake-Words) with very low false activations. I’m using two wake words, “Dr Brule”, and “Mr Carson”, with each taking a very different interpretation of personal home assistant. Each assistant is voiced via Omnivoice - my next step is to clone whispered voices for each respective character to respond in turn when “Last request whispered” reads true.
iOS Live Activity More Space
I have set up a live activity to show me the current rain rate. It has a message body, which shows the current rain rate, plus the last hours total rain. On android it displays my full text, but on iOS this gets truncated. I was wondering if there was any way to stop the text being truncated and display a larger live activity notification on iOS? I know iOS is capable of large notifications, just wondering if this is something I am missing or a limitation of the implementation? Example iOS: Example Android:

Enabot EBO Integration (Camera with wheels)
After a lot of reverse engineering, I’ve got the EBO Air 2 working in Home Assistant — including live video, which I think is a first for the Air 2. Z-Wave JS UI: “An error occurred” when changing config parameter, but value is applied (all nodes)
Hi, When I change a configuration parameter in Z-Wave JS UI (node > Configuration), the field shows “An error occurred.” underneath. However, the change does go through. The driver log shows the node answering with a ConfigurationCCReport containing the new value. HA Pylontech battery integration with ESPhome using esp8266 - help / assistance requested
Hi, Im a total newbie to this forum, but ive been looking at topics on the Pylontech batteries integration & im very very stuck. I am using an ESP8266 D1 mini & a RS232 to TTL interface. The above setup appears to work, but the battery info only gets as far as the ESP 8266 & is visible in the ESPHome logs The HA can see the ESP & the fields requested, but nothing appeares in the HA, I can select the heading for the data but below this is “unknown” (sorry if im not using the correct terms here

New Integration: Bosch eBike Smart System (Data Act API) – Track your rides in Home Assistant
I assume the authorisation part has now changed and you no longer need to wait for bosh to approve it (sorry didnt read the whole thread if its already covered), as the github instructions didnt mention it and it worked straight away. One thing I am curious about. The dashboard card has an entry at the bottom for battery %, but I dont seem to have a battery % entity ?

Set sensor icon color in picture-element
Getting a bit desperate after searching the forum and reddit for examples which most do not create erors in my lovelace cards but still do not work. I have a picture-element on which I want to show icons which change color based on the state of the sensor (‘open’ or ‘closed’). This snipped, including two examples which I tried, do not change the (defaut) color of the icons. When I use a state-batch the text in the batch does change between Open and Closed. So this snipped does not create errors

Anyone that uses a Shelly Wave i4 DC and also SmartThings?
I have a Shelly Wave i4 DC and was trying to link it to SmartThings and thought all the experts in here might be able to assist ? (Getting no replies on the ST forum) My Shelly Wave i4 DC is connected to a 3 switch plate with 3 toggle switches. I have installed a Shelly Smartthings edge driver called ‘Shelly Wave i4 as Switch’ but it doesn’t behave properly and detect my toggle switch changes. I am half wondering whether it could be a firmware issue with the i4, but despite spending 2 days wit

Trying to set up onvif triggers with Reolink doorbell cam. But I have this error so I googled the error and it said I should delete the cams IP address in ip_bans.yaml in your root folder. I have no such file. Dometic CFX3 WiFi integration for Home Assistant – local control without cloud
Hi everyone, I have created a custom Home Assistant integration for Dometic CFX3 coolers: The integration communicates directly with the cooler over the local WiFi network using the DDMP protocol. No cloud service and no external account are required. Features Local communication over WiFi Current temperature monitoring Configurable target temperature Cooling on/off control Compressor status Battery voltage AC or DC power-source status Battery-protection setting: LOW, MED or HIGH Automatic
AoI Bluetooth SIG Mesh: local control of Bluetooth Mesh lights and plugs, no hub or cloud
Hi all I’ve released AoI Bluetooth SIG Mesh, a custom integration that controls Bluetooth SIG Mesh lights and plugs directly from Home Assistant. Everything runs locally: no vendor hub, no cloud, no account. GitHub: GitHub - pratikthorat/ha-aoi-sig-mesh: Local Bluetooth SIG Mesh lights and plugs for Home Assistant, no cloud or hub · GitHub Why Many cheap smart bulbs and plugs (a lot of Tuya “Bluetooth mesh” devices among them) speak the standard Bluetooth SIG Mesh protocol, but usually need the vendor’s app, a gateway, or the cloud.

Wiszb-137 not working fully on Zigbee2MQTT
Hi all, Hopefully this message gets seen. I’m very brand new to all this. I have started to get some more home security. I got these Frient vibration sensors (wiszb-137) which I wanted to connect to my Home Assistant via Zigbee2MQTT. It allows me to connect them, but have very minimal settings that can be configured, including sensitivity levels 1-15, which are not there. After some googling, I came across this page Develco WISZB-137 control via MQTT | Zigbee2MQTT. It says you don’t get any of

The cheap Zigbee ceiling radar (MS01 / zbeacon) has a hidden serial port with all its radar settings
I put six cheap battery Zigbee 24 GHz ceiling radars around the house. They’re sold as Z3-24G under a few brand names. Zigbee2MQTT sees them as model MS01, vendor zbeacon, and Home Assistant calls them “Motion sensor (SNZB-03) by SONOFF”. You get occupied/clear and battery, and nothing else: no sensitivity, no range, no hold time. Out of the box they were wrong both ways. One fired over and over with nobody there, and another kept dropping someone sitting still right under it. So I opened o

CTC GSi Heat pump modbus connection
That google sheet doc is awesome and it annoys me that I stumbled across this after converting those PDF to excel myself… But I just wanted to give you a heads up that the linked document you referenced is no longer available on CTCs homepage, but they have a new version instead (to include newer model I guess?), that version also includes a new column “Name” for the functions.
Stiebel Eltron WPE-I 07 H 400 Modbus Configuration
Hi. A year ago, I had a Stiebel Eltron WPE-I 07 H 400 brine-to-water heat pump with underfloor heating installed in my house. Additionally, I received the ISG from Stiebel Eltron with firmware v12.2.3. I can also read data via Modbus on my test installation of HA (I prefer not to use my active HA instance for testing). Now to my problem: I would like to adjust the temperatures via HA in the web interface and later also through a thermostat. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find the relevant informatio

Added support Tuya Local for (Action) LSC Smart Connect RGB Christmas Lights / Multi color Smart Lights
I added Tuya Local support for LSC Smart Connect RGB Christmas Lights / Multi color Smart Lights (from Action). These lights still weren’t in Tuya Local. This is my first contribution. I couldn’t figure out how to add a new device in the original Local Tuya github because of stricts rules or something. My take on a home dashboard running on the Lenovo ThinkSmart View and managing multiple devices running Fully Kiosk
So all in all, pretty pleased with my TSVs. I soon found that AirPlaying audio (radio) from Music Assistant to a TSV (running AirReceiver) only plays for about 10 minutes, then the audio stops, although metadata for each track being played continues to be displayed and updated on the TSV. However, stop it and it is no longer available as an AirPlay receiver, until turning AirPlay off and on again in AirReceiver.
Raspberry Pi 3 model B+
Hi, I’m following this guide for setting up Home Assistant on Raspberry Pi: Raspberry Pi - Home Assistant It says under suggested hardware, that I’ll need a Raspberry Pi 4 or 5. I have a Raspberry Pi 3 model B+. Is it not possible to set up Home Assistant on this? // Jonas

[Custom card] 26 animated appliance & IT cards - a simple smart plug is enough
Hi everyone, I’ve been building a set of Lovelace cards for household appliances, with animated illustrations that follow the real state of the device: the washer drum tumbles, the oven element glows, the TV “boots” like a real screen, the range hood pulls in steam, the server rack LEDs blink with the load, the laptop shows a live screen, and so on. 26 cards so far: washer, dryer, dishwasher, water heater, oven, microwave, fridge, pellet stove, pool pump, 3D printer, chest and drawer freezers,
All things matter
You know the saying where it tells that what you don’t understand looks like magic. Matter/Thread is something like that. Unless you read/study all the documentation of course, but then you would be a Pro and I’m not. A couple of days ago two thirds of my Matter devices went offline and stayed that way. I tried a few things, pushed the buttons on the devices, restarted Home Assistant, the Matter Server and the Thread border router but to no avail. I run HA core in docker, Python Matter Server
Mars Hydro
I bought a used iConnectu (MARSPRO_PLUS_DONGLE_V2.1). After connecting it to an FC1500 lamp (2026 model), the device didn’t show up in the mobile app. The seller must have known something was wrong, as they refunded my money and told me I didn’t need to return the device I bought a CP2102 for less than $3 and connected only the GND, TX, and RX pins, while powering the iConnectu via USB. Everything works exactly as it should - I can turn it on/off and adjust the brightness in HA. @Davosje, thank you!

Sinope Line Voltage Thermostats
There were two updates today to the GT125 integration. I installed them both and now it says full up to date. The only problem is now under devices the interpretation didn’t load and I don’t see any thermostats anymore. It was working flawlessly i guess it was a bad idea to do that update.

QuietCool BLE: Native Bluetooth Integration (fan control, smart mode, temp/humidity)
Hey Mike, sorry for the delay here lot of other things going on. This definitely clarifies things for me, thanks a lot! Just released v0.2.20 with it. The fan entity now has a “Fan speed” attribute (Off / Low / High) that mirrors the Fan Speed sensor. Update via HACS, then in the Tile Card config under State Content you can pick “Fan speed” and it’ll show the real speed on the button — including Off when Smart mode isn’t actively running. Let me know if it shows up right for you!
Can’t connect to ESPHome API
I have an ESP32 D1 Mini that I have used on a previous ESPHome project. It worked fine for ages. I left most of the configuration alone but changed the hostname, replaced the display with the new platform epaper_spi and replaced the lamda draw function with lvgl which I have been developing using SDL2. I left the api and ota sections alone but added web_server. I am able to flash the device over the network from ESPHome Builder, which shows the device as online. I am able to ping it from a terminal. The router sees it, mDNS connects.

Introducing: A universal customizable 3D printer dashboard card
Hi everyone, I’ve been working on a Universal 3D Printer Card for Home Assistant and wanted to share it with the community. There are already some great 3D printer cards available, but many of them are designed around a specific manufacturer or integration. My goal with this project was to create something a little more printer-agnostic . The card doesn’t communicate with your printer directly and doesn’t require any additional account, cloud login or printer credentials. Instead,

Request for Integration: Smart Cocoon smart fans
I have a couple of these “Smart Cocoon” HVAC duct fans that I am hoping : Their app is really awful, but using Charles Proxy on an IOS device, I have managed to capture how the app interacts with their cloud service via (fairly straightforward) REST APIs. There is only a handful of APIs for signin and fan control needed (they also have APIs for their apps notion of rooms and thermostats, but these don’t seem to be required for basic fan status and control). Is there anyone with experience cr

HA unresponsive after setting up two network interfaces (WLAN/ETH; Guest network / Home network)

[SOLVED] Home Assistant - Google Assistant/Home app linking or synching issues - Error 404 or “Couldn’t Reach [Project]” After Login & 2FA — Root cause: Broken Misconfigured Legacy HA Entity
I had a working Home Assistant - Google Assistant integration that I set up 5 years ago but since it was not syncing with the “hey Google, sync my devices” I started to troubleshoot, removed the Home Assistant link in the app, and I cant make it link again My current setup is Dynu DNS / LetsEncrypt / NGINX No matter what I do, I keep getting this error message in Home Assistant Core: “Request for https://homegraph.googleapis.com/v1/devices:reportStateAndNotification failed: 404″ I have done p

Speaker volume randomly changes to 100%
Hi, HA Community. I have a strange case where one of my speakers the volume randomly will increase to very loud in the range of 75% to 100%. I tried checking the history but I’m not sure how to determine who/what changes the volume. A few nights ago the volume went up to 100% at 3:41AM! The screenshot below shows a lower volume because I lowered it before taking a screenshot. The times are random, and this happens almost every day. I have 3 Ikea sonos spakers and one HA Voice PE. HASS.Agent: Windows client to receive notifications, use commands, sensors, quick actions and more!
I want to install HASS.Agent on my administrator account and run it as a service, so I can control the PC even when my son is logged in with his simple (non-administrator) account. I installed both the application and the service, then connected it to HA via integration and to Mosquitto. The problem is that HA only sees the PC when I’m logged in; if my son is, it doesn’t, even though I’ve verified that the service is working. I guess I don’t understand how it works.
Local Balboa hot tub gateway for Home Assistant (ESP32 + MQTT discovery)
Hello, I’m using your esp32_balboa_spa project, version 2.28.1, with an M5Stack AtomS3 Lite and Atomic RS485 Base A131, connected to a Balboa BP2000/2100 controller (board P/N 24202_B). The firmware builds and runs, and Wi-Fi works. However, when connected to the spa board, it receives UART bytes but never detects a valid frame (UART_BYTES_NO_VALID_FRAMES). The spa’s original topside panel displays a communication error while the Atom is connected. When I disconnect the Atom and reconnect the original panel, the panel works normally again.
CVV Dashboard — ClasseViva school records in Home Assistant, with support for multiple students
CVV Dashboard brings the ClasseViva electronic school register into Home Assistant. HACS is required for installation. The integration provides: Grades and average grades, including results for each subject. School notices, attachments, and read status. An agenda with school events. Homework, teacher comments, and disciplinary notes. School reports and documents available for download. Four Home Assistant calendars for each student: agenda, homework, teacher notes, and room bookings.
Script Trace: Error in describing condition: can’t access property “includes”, e is undefined
Thanks Rusty. As I said earlier; " I changed these to standard state conditions, but the warning persisted". Although the code performs correctly it is somewhat confusing. It is being reported as an error but it doesn’t affect the result of the condition. The fact that I can use the UI to create the condition(s) using either state or switch condition and there are no issues with the resultant code, makes me think I should just ignore the issue. However, it would be good to clear it up just for completeness/correctness.

Ultimatrix: an ESP32 matrix clock with nine faces, including Home Assistant
Hi everyone, I’d like to share Ultimatrix, a project I’ve been working on for a 64×64 HUB75 LED matrix and an ESP32. It’s a clock with nine different faces: animated game scenes, live sports, a word clock, and a Home Assistant dashboard. The idea is to make something useful that’s also fun to have on your desk or shelf. The faces Home Assistant — rotating Home and Energy pages, with household status, power consumption, solar production, grid import/export and notifications. Football — fixtures, live scores, results and
EMHASS: An Energy Management for Home Assistant
Following my earlier EMHASS posts about controlling my Thermia heat pump, I have now published the Home Assistant integration I use for the equipment side: It provides local Modbus TCP sensors and controls for the Thermia Calibra Cool 7 BW, including heating, passive cooling, tap water, temperatures and operational states. The integration is independent of EMHASS. My Home Assistant automations translate the EMHASS p_deferrable outputs into commands for these Thermia entities, while the heat

Elecrow HA panel (ESP32-P4) - 3D printable enclosure
Hi everyone, I’ve been testing the Elecrow ESP32-P4 panel for Home Assistant and made a simple enclosure for it, so I thought I’d share the 3D files here in case they’re useful to anyone else. I like the concept of this panel because it works a little differently from many ESP32 wall displays: instead of building and rendering a separate UI on the panel itself, it displays the dashboard from your Home Assistant server. So you can keep using the dashboard you’ve already configured in HA. Th
Schluter DITRA-HEAT-E-RS1 WiFi SMART THERMOSTAT
No, I am trying very hard to get rid of any big tech cloud stuff, the schluter integration seems to work now. I’m likely to get rid of this thermostat and install or make something that works locally. I try to have my devices local, and use home assistant via a tailscale connection for any remote actions. This is one of a few that are still cloud connected. It’s hard to do, but everyday I’m reminded of the erosion of privacy and big tech having far too much data about me

Vicare DHW vitocal 060 hysteresis parameters
Hi, I integrated with success my 2 devices DHW vitocal 060 and heating vitocal 150-A. I am living in France, units are in Celsius. I could convert all the temperatures from F to C. But the hysteresis parameters (on:7°C/off:0°C) are treated as T and are converted to -273 and 268°C!!! How to fix that? Thanks

Modify Hamilton beach smart kettle for local HA control
Hi All, I’m planning to mod a hamilton beach 41036 kettle to be locally controlled by HA. As purchased it uses an ESP32-pico-v3-zero for communication to Alexa. I hope to reprogram the ESP32 to get rid of the Alexa functions, and use mqtt to control it. The goal is local voice control of the unit without any cloud usage. I’m going to connect to the esp32 to get logs first, to see what I can learn. After that I’ll sniff the tx and rx between the ESP32 and the main MCU, to see what signals g

Just in case anyone was looking at getting an Ideal HP290 integrated with HA, here is how I did it (with a LOT of help from Claude ) I should say in advance, mine is a “Controller only” setup of the 4.5kW HP290. Integration for sending SMS messages with Voip.ms
I want to start a thread looking to see if any other users are using the following github custom integration to use voip.ms sms My current workaround for sending “free” text messages is to use MQTT and a listener on a macos device to relay the MQTT messages to iMessage. Eufyhome integration fails after Core 2026.10
My Eufy switch is not working after Core 2026.10 upgrade. I am using the built in HomeAssistant eufyhome integration. I only have one Eufy switch and it is not working anymore, I get this error “Failed to perform the action switch/turn_off. NGBS ICON integration to HomeAssistant
Dear All, I am new to HomeAssistant and one of my first project to integrate my NGBS ICON system to HomeAssistant. I understand that there is no native client for NGBS ICON system therefore I need to use modbus integration to make ICON communicate with HomeAssistant. I managed to set up modbus integration and it looks like that HomeAssistant can communicate with the ICON however I am not able to collect the information from ICON I am looking for since I dont know the modbus register I need to c

Ongoing integration of Hoymiles HMeter-CT-T120-RW into Home Assistant
I recently purchased a Hoymiles HMeter-CT-T120-RW to see that it is so new that is not yet properly supported by Home Assistant. I want to use that smart meter to provide my Hoymiles HIS-3L-G3-WL hybrid inverter with CT data. Idea is that Home Assistant polls the data from the smart meter, transforms it as necessary and forwards it to the hybrid inverter using a Ethernet-to-RS485 interface (in my case I need only data of a single phase, since the HIS-3L-G3-WL is a single phase inverter). To mak

Electrolux-made top loader (Westinghouse WWT8084J7WA) in HA by listening to its own panel bus: minutes left, stage, programme, lid
My washer is a Westinghouse WWT8084J7WA, an 8 kg top loader made by Electrolux. No Wi-Fi, no app. Until now Home Assistant guessed “running” and “done” from a power-metering plug. I wanted minutes left, which stage it’s in, which programme, the lid, and errors, so I went looking at how the front panel talks to the main board. It’s the Electrolux MACS bus, and someone had already decoded it Before probing anything I did some reading. Electrolux, AEG, Zanussi and Westinghouse machines use a
UHPPOTE Desk: open-source web app for UHPPOTE access controllers, with native HA integration (MQTT discovery)
Hi everyone! If you have a UHPPOTE UT0311-L0x access controller (the cheap 1/2/4-door Wiegand boards sold on Amazon/AliExpress), you probably know the only official way to manage it is an old Windows program (N3000 “Access Control”). I wrote UHPPOTE Desk, an open-source web app that replaces it completely and runs in Docker next to Home Assistant, with a native HA integration through MQTT discovery (no custom component needed). What you get in Home Assistant As soon as you set the MQTT broker, one device per controller and
OpenMote - a drop-in ESP32-S3 board for a Wiimote shell, running ESPHome for Home Assistant
Hi all! I’m Ezra. My friend Samson and I built OpenMote, an ESP32-S3 board that drops into a Wiimote shell, original or third-party, and runs ESPHome. At Open Sauce this summer people kept asking us whether it works with Home Assistant. It does! Home Assistant finds it like any other ESPHome device, and the whole board shows up as entities: 12 buttons, 4 LEDs, haptics, motion sensor, speaker, IR, and a mic you can switch on. What it is An ESP32-S3 board with WiFi and Bluetooth, 12 buttons,
Multizone Thermostat v3: Smart PID, PWM & Geofencing (100% UI / No YAML)
Hi @serv2002, Thanks for the feedback and for offering to test the 0–10V control! Regarding OpenTherm: under the hood, Multizone actually already handles both approaches, but having everything grouped into a single selection field in the setup flow can definitely be confusing. Right now, you can already pick a climate entity directly in the OpenTherm entity field: the integration detects the domain and automatically handles modulation via climate.set_temperature as well as ON/OFF switching via climate.set_hvac_mode.
Automations are not running Automatically
Hello all I have an Automation that Turns On the Living Room Light Switch if the Suns Solar Elevation has Dropped below 30 Degrees. This Automation has worked perfectly for some Time, however, over the Last Month it no longer seems to Run Automatically. If I Run the Automation Manually, after confirming that the Suns Solar Elevation has Dropped Below the required point, it Runs perfectly, Turning On the Living Room Light Switch. This Issue seems to have occurred after a Home Assistant Update, unfortunately, I do not know which one.

Zemismart ZM25 Zigbee howto (Tubular roller blind/shade/cover motor)
Before I dig deep and end up in a rabbit hole does this work with a ZM15B as well? I use zigbee2mqtt no ZHA, have no remote no Tuya hub and blind is added but obviously tries to go too low, probably too high but I think it just gets caught and the motor senses this and stops anyway. I have a ZM25 on order but thats coming from China rather than local ship so still en route.

Wired 24 V outdoor light with exposed sensors: useful or too niche?
Hi everyone, I’m working on an outdoor wall light for my own home automation setup. The project started because I couldn’t find a fixture that combined straightforward architectural lighting with sensors that were actually available to the local automation controller. I specifically didn’t want another Wi-Fi light or a fixture that keeps its motion sensor internal and only switches its own LEDs. The current concept uses a separate 24 V DC supply and wired RS485/Modbus connection. It has indepe

Ikea Bilresa scroll wheel blueprint (Matter) - The Original
Hello, this is very cool and works so far but i am having trouble with one of the scripts. I am trying to get channel 2 on the remote to control Hue of a light only, but when I choose “lights: color hue only” I get an error “The automation “Aurora Light Control” (automation.aurora_light_control) has an unknown action: script.light_color_hs_helper”. I can see the script in the UI but I am not sure what I have misconfigured in the process. Any help is appreciated, thank you for the blueprints!
External connection issues, is there any other way?
Hi all, I used Nabu-casa for a while but it seemed to get a bit clunky and I started getting a lot of “unauthorised access attempt” logs so although I still support the cause, i stopped using the cloud service. My mediocre research pointed me to Tail-Scale, I set that up with help from you guys, and it seemed ok. I have the tunnelling option set so only Home Assistant uses the tail-net as it seemed to mess with my banking and parking apps. Lately it seems to be less than reliable and the TS a

Script Trace: Error in describing condition: can’t access property “includes”, e is undefined
I’m seeing the following error in the trace output for a script: Error in describing condition: can’t access property “includes”, e is undefined The trace identifies the condition as if/condition/0, but reports result: true. The script appears to execute correctly. I noticed a similar message in an earlier topic but that was for a trigger and was to do with legacy code. In my case I have used the UI to create the conditions in the script. The warning originally appeared for three conditions i

Heima — an experiment in learned, proposal-driven automation for Home Assistant
A quick update on heima v3 status. I fixed many ideas and requirements, in particular: Everything is a fact. Every reading becomes a HouseFact (what / where / when / how), with provenance, so you can always ask “why did the house do that?” and follow the chain back to the sensor. Semantic claims, not one global “house mode”. Presence, sleep, guests, vacation and so on can overlap. Each has its own evidence and confidence. Learning that asks first. Patterns are mined from history but never act on their own.
Cannot access HA remotely since August update
I use HA OS on a NUC, and I used to connect it remotely (either with a web browser or the mobile app). I use the DuckDNS extension, which redirects to my home router. The router is configured to redirect the HA port to the NUC. It used to work correctly until the August update. Basically, I get a timeout. * Host myhost.duckdns.org:8123 was resolved. * IPv6: (none) * IPv4: myIP (correct) * Trying myIP:8123... * ipv4 connect timeout after 9881ms, move on! * Failed to connect to myhost.duckdns.

TCL Water Heat Pump ( SMKLd-10D/HBp-A / THF-8D/HBpO-A)

Smooth dimming with IKEA Bilresa + Kajplats?

Replacing my Logitech Harmony Hub and Remote

Utility_meter with delta_values: true incorrectly increments on YAML reloads
Hello everyone, I am running into an issue combining a Template Trigger Sensor (which calculates positive deltas from a jumping source sensor) and a Utility Meter in delta_values: true mode. The Scenario: I have a source counter (sensor.softliq_sd21_soft_water_quantity) that should increase monotonically. However, there appears to be a bug which causes this sensor jump down at irregular intervals. This is an already raised issue on GitHub, but until it gets resolved upstream, I’ve to come up with a solution in HA.

Weewx MQTT data not showing in HA
I have a Weewx weather station, and I am struggling to get the date into HA. I have installed the weewx-mqtt extension. I understand that there are other extensions, but they seem to either need to be running inside Docker alongside Weewx, or needing the whole thing to be installed using pip which again I’m not. It’s a vanilla Raspberry Pi OS install with Weewx installed via Apt. Anyway, I have configured the Weewx part in weewx.conf as below [[MQTT]] server_url = mqtt://mqtt:****
Omlet Auto Door for Chicken Coop
The signal strength of 70+% indicates the control panel is able to connect to your wifi network, but the fact they’re still showing as offline suggests something is preventing them from connecting from there to our servers. It would be worth double checking that there’s no firewall rules, parental controls, or other types of security on the network preventing the control panels from connecting to us. If you’re using a wifi extender, also worth verifying it’s not lost its uplink connection to the

Thread device lost after update and duplicated after re-pairing
I bought a thread smart plug (Onvis T20) and wanted to connect it to my new thread network on the ZBT-2. It took some time to understand what to do, but it finally worked. Then I upgraded the OS (home assistant OS) and the device was gone, no way to recover it. I paired it again and now I have two of them, of which one is not functional of course. Should I delete the device and add it as completely new, to have a clean situation? And, most importantly, will this break when I upgrade the system next month or so?
Orisec Alarm Integration

Overview Dashboard, but “Plus” -> Overview Plus
Hi, @all! I wanted to show you a dashboard strategy Claude put up for me. The idea is: I really like the new default Overview dashboard strategy. But there are circumstances, where I would want a bit more flexibility. Hence: “Overview Plus” Examples, where “Overview Plus” is helping: You can define your own Area Sections for your Area views. (I use this for my virtual areas: Proxmox-Cluster, TrueNAS, etc. where I collect specific devices and entities for these “Areas” which I get through various integrations)
Prepaid electricity meter: units left, one low warning per token, recharges (kWh, any municipality)
A prepaid meter’s units counted down from the grid import your inverter or energy meter already measures. Made for South African prepaid meters, but it counts kWh, not money, so it works whatever the tariff or supplier. Units left in a Number helper you can put on any dashboard. One warning when they run low, and again only after the next token. A recharge is simply setting the helper to the meter’s reading after loading a token; a message confirms it. Why it is built this way: It works
Grid outage or load shedding: one message, loads off and back on, and a check that they really came back
For a home with a solar inverter and a battery. I live in South Africa, where load shedding made me want this done properly, but it works for any outage and any inverter integration that gives a grid voltage. When the grid goes: one message per outage (“The grid went off at 18:02 (0 V). Battery 64%. Switched off: Geyser, Pool pump.”) optionally the heavy loads switched off to save the battery, always or only below a battery level When it comes back: one message with how long it was gone
IKEA Myggbett Door/Window Sensor Modifying
I did originally modify with the hall sensor in place but as you can see by previous replies it resulted in rapid battery drain. I damaged the sensor doing some more testing so my board no longer has the hall attached. Next steps: Identify a power source that remains at 2.194v regardless of switching state and test with a pull up resistor. The test pad test I tried didn’t work but didn’t manage to confirm if the the test pad maintains power at all times.
Samsung Washer Card
Hi all, I wanted a nicer way to see what my Samsung washer-dryer is doing than a row of sensors, so I made a Lovelace card that shows the machine itself in 3D and animates it with the real state. What it does A live three.js model of the machine: laundry tumbles in sloshing water while it washes, the drum ramps up and the cabinet shakes during the spin, the inside glows warm with steam while it dries, and the door opens when the cycle is done (if you have a door sensor) Each phase gets

Zigbee Garden Irrigation Dashboard with Standard Home Assistant Features (Docker) – SONOFF SWV-ZFE, Six Schedules & Safety Automations
Hi everyone! I’d like to share my Zigbee garden irrigation dashboard for Home Assistant Container running in Docker, using the ZHA integration and a SONOFF SWV-ZFE Zigbee water valve. The dashboard uses native Home Assistant cards — no HACS frontend components or custom Lovelace cards are required. It provides six independently configurable daily watering schedules, manual controls, device status information and basic safety automations. I’ve included the dashboard YAML, all helper definition

Tapo-monitor — Tapo alerts where the photo actually shows the person, with Home Assistant over MQTT
Hi all Tapo cameras love sending motion detected with a photo of an empty driveway — the person already walked out of frame. tapo-monitor (MIT, Python) fixes that: Empty live frame? It pulls frames from the camera’s own SD-card recording around the event’s timestamps and sends the one the person is actually in. False alarms (cars, branches, pets) are filtered by a small local YOLOX scorer on your LAN. Nothing leaves the network. Home Assistant: opt-in MQTT discovery — each camera shows up

For the past two days, my backup has grown to a massive size—tens of gigabytes—and the database isn’t the cause. When I check the disk space usage for the backup, it shows 90 GB under “App data,” even though I haven’t installed anything large. The only tool I added was “Spook” (by Franck), but I’ve since removed it, thinking it might have been the source of the problem. OPNsense Presence Detection Stopped Working
Two days ago I updated the hass-opnsense integration to v1.2.1 and, on the same day (bad idea, I know!) updated my OPNsense router to v26.7.7 Something in one of those updates has caused device tracking and, by extension, my presence detection setup to stop working. I track a specific subset of devices in the hass-opnsense integration (the mobile phones of my family members). This has worked well in the past, but since the updates all devices show permanently as At Home. Reloading the integra

Tuya Intergrated Theromostatat not showing temperatures
Hi, I’ve just added a KETOTEK Smart Thermostat to control underfloor heating. I’ve added the thermostat to TUYA and I can control it in the app ok. I refreshed the TUYA integration and the thermostat is shown in HA with two entities. A heating control and a child lock configuration. Electric Underfloor Heating Control with Standard Home Assistant Features (Docker) - Timed Heating, Manual Mode and Two Schedules
Hi everyone, I’ve already found useful information here in the community several times, so I’d like to give something back and share a setup of my own. It’s a solution for controlling electric underfloor heating that uses only the built-in features of the Home Assistant Docker installation — no HACS, custom themes, custom cards or other additional components. It’s running in my own installation and has proven to work reliably in everyday use. Hopefully, it will be useful to someone else, too!

Axioma Qalcosonic W1 - smart water meter
Hey everyone! I wanted to finally read out my new water meter into home assistant now (which is super annoying because I had a perfect setup with inductive sensors before which worked flawlessly, but of course everything has to be made way more complicated than it has to). I am now not sure what to do. I tried reading my meter with the (very sketchy) android app that was linked here but couldn’t get any data out of it. Someone mentioned I need a PIN? So before getting all the hardware to read

Dynamic charge times draining battery
Hi community and Mikael, While I thought I had resolved my end goal, I have not, I thought I had. What I had drafted was 2 automations. 1 automation to freeze the battery when a EV charge was detected by updating the depth of charge to 0%. And the other automation to revert this back to 90% when the EV stopped charging. For whatever reason the change was not being applied, in some scenarios it worked, but i cannot get it to work with a level of reliability. Does anyone have the exact config for Goodwe to make this scenario work? Is it possible?

AION EMS Zeus – Energy Management & Intelligence for Home Assistant
Here’s the 14 Oct result. I updated to v16.0.255 14 Oct: actual 4.0 kWh Forecast (recorded 23:00 on 13 Oct) kWh vs actual Current Zeus 1.98 −51% Candidate A (moderate) 5.06 +27% Candidate B (lighter) 7.60 +90% Solcast 7.27 +82% Helios 14.50 +263% Candidate A was the closest this time. Location of frigate snapshots in HA
The image stored in the entity image._person seems to be different from the “preview” snapshot (clipped) shown in the HA’s media browser > Frigate > Snapshots > . Has anyone an idea how to access the latter? In my case, these cropped snapshots really show people in almost all cases, whereas the entity images mostly show false identifications or candidates including the orange bounding box and a label “person: 51% …”.

Integration of Moes battery ZigBee light Switch not working anymore as is like in sleep mode
Since a couple of weeks ago, my Zigbee battery powered switch from Moes (ZT-B-EU2-MS) stopped working normally. Instead of switching the lights on at the first button press only the switch LEDs are blinking several times but nothing else happened. Only after the second or even the third button press the switch is activating the lights. I have changed the battery, I have replaced the suite with a new one, I have installed and un installed it again, I have checked all the settings in Home Assista

Origami, and other Apple Screensavers [Card]
I wanted something more dynamic for photos on my tablet, so I made a minimal screensaver card that lets you use animations like Origami, Shifting tiles, Sliding panels and more from Apple’s photo screensavers. The card uses its sibling integration to create photo sources from iCloud and Google Photos shared albums, Immich, PhotoPrism, Synology Photos, Nextcloud, Ente, local folders/NAS and Home Assistant’s media browser. You can use it as a regular dashboard card or make it full-screen on yo
Node-red: let motion control lights only outside bigtimer windows
Hello all New to bigtimer (which i think is an elagant solution) and i would like to control the light on the front porch like @NimdaBE . My objective is to turn on/of the light from dust to 22:00 and from dawn(-30 mini) to 07:30. I do have this working using a a simple inject node. No motion detection…This works I see in the above solution that you are using a inject mode in addition to the switch (i presume to trigger the event)…ok Which means that bigtimer can not be uses as a trigger on its own

🔥 PumpSteer 2.0 released (major rewrite)
🔥 PumpSteer 2.0 released Hi again! I’ve just released PumpSteer 2.0 — a major rewrite of the entire control system. This is not an incremental update. It’s a completely new approach to controlling heating systems based on electricity price, indoor temperature, and forecasts. ⚠ Important: Treat this as a new integration, not an upgrade from 1.x. 🚀 What’s new in 2.0 • 🧠 PI-based control (replaces previous heuristics) • ⚡ Smart price classification: cheap / no

How-to integrate HomePod Mini Sensors into Home Assistant When Direct Integration Isn’t Possible
In my configuration.yaml, I finally added sensor template… template: - sensor: # ✅ Humidité HomePod Mini CHM - name: “HomePod Mini CHM Humidity” state: ”{{ states(‘sensor.homepod_mini_chm_humidity’) }}” unique_id: “homepod_mini_chm_humidity_sensor” unit_of_measurement: ”%” device_class: humidity icon: “mdi:water-percent” # ✅ Température HomePod Mini CHM - name: “HomePod Mini CHM Temperature” state: ”{{ states(’sensor.home
How-to integrate HomePod Mini Sensors into Home Assistant When Direct Integration Isn’t Possible
Same issue. As far as I can tell, it’s the”Get Contents of URL” action that causes the issue. I suspected this as I’m having exactly the same issue with a Pushover api call in my HomeKit automations. As far as I can tell, “test this automation” runs the automation on the device in your hand. And these “Get contents of URL” actions work fine then. However, they fail when the automation is triggered to run on the Home Hub. I’ve proved this for myself by setting up various time-triggered automations.
Echo Dot 3rd gen (2018) as a fully local Assist satellite, keeping Amazon’s mic array and wake word engine
Yea. finally got it rooted. Thanks for the comment on your first post. Below is the order in which to get the device in bootrom. The whole time I was thinking the script will download those 3 files automatically and we don’t need to power the device when flashing.
Connect 10 pool controller - fully local control
Hi @antiqueyak this looks amazing! I’ve been persevering with the sloooooow cloud-based integration on my Connect 10 system for some time now after leveraging all the great work in this thread. Well done for working out how to integrate a local version of this! I would love to leverage what you have done to build my own local control integration. I’ve done quite a few ESP32 projects over the years however I’ve never done my own PCB printing, which seems like next level! I’m willing to give i

Echo Dot 3rd gen (2018) as a fully local Assist satellite, keeping Amazon’s mic array and wake word engine
You are repeating step by step my route Fully agree, that subject 2 points are not clearly described in docs - you have to download 3 files by yourself in to ~/Downloads, and yes you have to plug in the power. The easiest way is to plug USB in PC, hold button and only after that pug in the power.
Panasonic PACi / commercial unit — wired controller protocol (2-wire bus) — anyone working on this?
@hugojm Yes, do this. My journey started with a trimpot and LM393. When you get a good enough signal that where the fun begins. Decoding noise without knowing what is really happening. Its not easy but its possible. Here’s my project and hopefully it can help yall out.
ApexCharts: Aligning Two Graphs on the Same Timeline
Hi everyone! I’m trying to align my energy plan graph with my electricity price graph in ApexCharts, so that the timelines line up correctly. I’ve tried a few things but haven’t managed to get them aligned. Does anyone know how to do this or have an example of how to achieve it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Synchronous discharge
This is normal behaviour for Omnibattery with two separate Venus E3 units — it drives one battery at a time, so on discharge it hands over to the other unit in turn rather than discharging both in sync. True parallel discharge would need the batteries to operate as one coupled unit, which these all-in-one boxes don’t do through Omnibattery’s individual device control.
Midea A/C via local XYE
Hi all — first post here on this thread, hoping someone has seen this before. Unit: Midea MKG-V600C, wall-mounted DC hydronic fan coil (2-pipe, chilled/hot water, not a refrigerant split). Wiring label dated 2024.08, rev F. What the wiring diagram says CN23 = XYE, wired to terminal block XT2 (X/Y/E), labelled “TO CCM COMM BUS” — solid lines, standard fit CN22 = PQE Modbus, “TO UPPER UNIT” — dashed/optional Address comes from a separate “switch board” (ENC2 rotary + 2-way SW1) plugged into CN

Possible memory leak from VSCode plugin?
Today around 11:46PM I got a warning of memory usage over 90% on my HAOS virtual machine. Then I found that VSCode webUI is very unresponsive. The UI problem went away after refreshing the page, and suddenly the memory usage drop from 90% to 50%. The log of VSCode also indicate a restart happened on 11:46. I’m not sure if VSCode is the culprit, or if it’s the victim of OOM(our of memory) situation. Is there a good way to debug this possible memory leak issue?
Button Scene Cycling and Off Control
Button Scene Cycling and Off Control This automation blueprint cycles sequentially through a selected list of scenes using an On Button (or scene button) and a Counter helper to remember your place in the cycle. Pressing the Off Button (or power toggle configured for off) shuts down target devices and resets the counter to 0, ensuring your cycle always starts fresh on your preferred first scene every time you turn it back on. Features Sequential Scene Cycling: Step through your favorite scenes in order with every press of the On button.
Spook -Your homie
I normally rename entity_id’s because I replace a device and would like to keep the history and automations. I would prefer not to have all my automations changed. If I want that, a simple search and replace in a text editor is enough.
Nexus MCP: Ultra-lightweight AI Agent for Home Assistant with Native Tool Calling, Automation Creation & Free 120B Models (Groq, Gemini, Qwen, Ollama)
Hi everyone! 👋 I’m thrilled to share a project I’ve been building and polishing for the community: Nexus MCP. 💡 Why Nexus MCP? Most LLM conversational agents for Home Assistant either require paid OpenAI subscriptions, bulky local server setups, or are restricted to answering basic questions without real automation tools. Nexus MCP is an ultra-lightweight, 1-click install integration that turns cutting-edge open-weight AI models into autonomous smart-home agents wit
Using Sonoff Dongle CC2674P10 as thread router
I flashed the usb dongle and tried setting it up as a router however it fails to connect. I have IPv6 working fine with my Gfiber router. Any idea what could be wrong? I’m running on MacOS w/ VirtualBox. USB 3.0 xHCI enabled and SONOFF in the device filter. Echo Dot 3rd gen (2018) as a fully local Assist satellite, keeping Amazon’s mic array and wake word engine
@taucher4k It seems you may have a unicorn that potentially is not vulnerable to the exploit used for unlocking the bootloader. I shot you a DM, so we can debug this properly without spamming here too much.
Open AI retiring GPT-4o mini - Replacement?
I use OpenAi in LLM Vision with the suggested “gpt-4o-mini” as the default model. I received this email today confirming that this model is going away. It was flagged a year ago: Hi there, We’re retiring GPT-4o, GPT-4o mini, GPT-4.1 and GPT-4.1 mini in favor of newer OpenAI models, which offer stronger capabilities and safety performance. We recognize that changing models takes planning and testing, which is why we’re providing three months’ notice so your team has time to evaluate replaceme

Is the devices label not clickable anymore?
d before, you could click or tap on this, and it would jump to a filtered list of devices in a table belonging to the relevent integration like this now clicking it behaves like clicking anywhere else on the entry and goes to the full list which looks like this did they take that shortcut away, or is this a bug? i dont remember seeing this listed as a change anywhere
Echo Dot 3rd gen (2018) as a fully local Assist satellite, keeping Amazon’s mic array and wake word engine
I made the same mistake, thinking that the script downloads the files… it doesn’t. You download them yourself from the forum posts in the links provided, once they exist in the downloads folder, the script carries on. The instructions could be more clear, but they were likely written by ai. It literally means YOU need to dowload the files to the ~/Downloads folder. Be sure that you ran the script as you and no sudo as it will look in the Downloads folder of the user you ran it under.
Grandstream HT802 Integration - busy tone?
Still new to HA and adding things as I find them. Today, I am trying to use my Grandstream HT802 and set it up for phone integration as described here. When I pick up the line, I get a busy tone. Things I have tried: Added an autopickup delay in the HT802 settings. Then I get a dial tone and after the timeout it switches to busy. Switched around the Vocoder preferences so that OPUS is in first place. Payload type is correct. Added SIP user 37 to the Voip integration settings in HA, to match

[App] LedFx (with Sendspin support)
Heyhey, I couldn’t find a working up-to-date LedFx-app (especially none with the new sendspin-feature), which doesn’t necessarily mean there isn’t one out there. Nonetheless, I decided to create my own from scratch. I am not very experienced and I couldn’t test all the features it has (it supports tons of hardware) but I granted some permissions that should make lots of hardware work, that is directly connected to the host-system. Network-devices (like ESP-based ones) shouldn’t have any issues unless it’s an issue by LedFx itself.
NextFloor: draw your floor plan in HA and see the house live in 3D (HACS, free)
I wanted a floor plan that is more than a picture, so I made one. NextFloor adds a panel to Home Assistant where you draw your floors and rooms, and it shows the house in 3D. The model is live: when a lamp goes on, its room lights up in the same colour, blinds follow their position, windows tilt, doors swing, the TV shows what is playing, and outside it rains or snows if your weather entity says so. That clip is my own house, recorded live in Home Assistant. The car on the parking spot is a r
Recommendations for (Monitored) alarm systems
I have been using Abode for this purpose, and it has worked pretty well. Basically, I use the Abode system for sensors that are necessary for “security” (doors, windows, smoke, etc) and everything else goes on HA. The two systems are fairly compatible, Abode supports Z-Wave and Zigbee internally, so you don’t have to use their sensors. There is a HA integration, which is mostly one way – HA can see all of the Abode devices, and it is possible to trigger an Abode automation (they call it CUE).

Building Dynamic timer helpers
In Home Assistant can we create a template automation that can enumerate all lights or switches and based on the labels on them create a dynamic timer helper to turn off the light, switch or fan when the timer finishes, Any ideas? This would allow a single automation to control duration values for any number of entities and the labels would be an easy way of making custom durations.

Continue on Error as the default
Or, add the ability to flag an entire script as “continue on error” (to save having to set that flag for every action).

Music Assistant 2.0: Your Music, Your Players
Need a hand adding a squeezelite-esp32 to Music Assistant. I have a few working squeezelite-esp32 players that I have added in the past. They are configured via a separate external Lyrion Music Server (not the HA app). Now when I try to add the new squeezelite-esp32 player (the one with arrow)I can’t because it wants to add it via it’s “Set up native player instead”. My other squeezelite-esp32 that I setup about a year ago are not setup with the “native player”, and the “native player” is not even installed on MA.
Searching an reliable, interconnected smoke detectors with Home Assistant integration
Hi everyone, First of all, this is my very first post here, so please bear with me! 😊 I know that smoke detectors have been discussed quite frequently in this forum, and I apologize for bringing up the topic once again. I’ve spent quite some time reading through existing threads, but haven’t really found what I’m looking for. I’m searching for smoke detectors that meet the following requirements: Interconnected detectors: This is my most important requirement! If one detector senses

Heiman smoke alarm HS1SA-E Plus new features in ZHA and Z2M
I’m sorry, but I don’t know how many users would be interested in this. What about starting a new thread on this topic to see if there is any interest apart from me!? Maybe also reference existing Heiman Zigbee siren HS2WD, and see if there is interest in a battery siren based upon your existing smoke detector model? NB HS2WD is not really usable in UK where I live due to the Euro plug, which is one reason why I like the battery option. However battery version also makes placement so much easie
Zigbee Guide: How-to add/setup local custom ZHA Device Handlers (also known as ”quirks”) in the ZHA integration
If you add a new Zigbee device to Home Assistant and it does not show all expected feature/function entities (attributes) in the UI for the ZHA integration (the native “Zigbee Home Automation” gateway component that is built-in to Home Assistant), even after you tried multiple times to re-pair/re-join that same Zigbee device to the ZHA integration, then there is a big chance that your new Zigbee device will either need a new custom ZHA Device Handler (also known as a “zha-quirk”) for that specif

HomeAssistant-SmartCompress: Intelligent, Time-Tiered Database Compression & Deduplication (SQLite & PostgreSQL)
Hi everyone, Like many of you, I struggled with Home Assistant’s recorder database ballooning into tens of gigabytes. Even with a 10–30 day purge window, modern Zigbee/Z-Wave devices, battery sensors, TRVs, and smart plugs flood the states table with millions of redundant rows: • Telemetry jitter: Timestamp ticks, linkquality, rssi, uptime, and last_seen trigger full database writes every few seconds even when the primary sensor state hasn’t changed. • Micro-noise: Thermometers jumping betwee

Actron Aircon / ESP32 Controller Help
I just ordered one as I spent way too much time getting this working on my system. I even managed to fry a controller and had to order another from ebay. I could get some of it working, but it was so fiddly I just gave up. Hopefully the macAutomate board will make it much easier.

Hello. Joining in on the fun. Just received my used 3rd gen echo. Cracked opened the cover and soldered on the 2 wires with my no so good soldering skills. Ran the scripts and have been waiting close to an hour for it to download the files? It shouldn’t take this long should it? I am using a rpi4 over wifi. Here is the screenshot of what is happening. No errors. Just the mins jumping up and down. There is internet connection on the pi.
Local Only Rainpoint Irrigation control via ESP32 and CC1101 Radio
RainPoint Local — cloud-free irrigation with ESP32 radio nodes (alpha) Hi everyone! I wanted to control my RainPoint irrigation and read its soil sensors directly in Home Assistant, without depending on the RainPoint/HomGar cloud. I also wanted coverage across different parts of the garden instead of relying on one centrally placed hub. That led to RainPoint Local: an open-source project built by using AI to reverse-engineer RainPoint’s radio protocol. It communicates directly with supported s

What happens if I die?
OP should start by writing an instruction to some electrician etc how and where to remove all tinkering. If the other occupants are not interested on running or maintaining automations, at that point those do more harm than good. The setup might be running okay for time being but quickly breaks on some battery being empty etc. In my house I am the only one interested. Everyone benefits from it but no other separately want to have it. A well done system runs in manual mode without home assist
