Heima — an experiment in learned, proposal-driven automation for Home Assistant
A quick update on heima v3 status. I fixed many ideas and requirements, in particular: Everything is a fact. Every reading becomes a HouseFact (what / where / when / how), with provenance, so you can always ask “why did the house do that?” and follow the chain back to the sensor. Semantic claims, not one global “house mode”. Presence, sleep, guests, vacation and so on can overlap. Each has its own evidence and confidence. Learning that asks first. Patterns are mined from history but never act on their own.
Cannot access HA remotely since August update
I use HA OS on a NUC, and I used to connect it remotely (either with a web browser or the mobile app). I use the DuckDNS extension, which redirects to my home router. The router is configured to redirect the HA port to the NUC. It used to work correctly until the August update. Basically, I get a timeout. * Host myhost.duckdns.org:8123 was resolved. * IPv6: (none) * IPv4: myIP (correct) * Trying myIP:8123... * ipv4 connect timeout after 9881ms, move on! * Failed to connect to myhost.duckdns.

TCL Water Heat Pump ( SMKLd-10D/HBp-A / THF-8D/HBpO-A)
Hello, I acquired and installed the following heatpump from TCL. I am not proud about not buying local, but my DIY store wanted to get rid of it. Now I’d like at least to read basic information from it into my HA. Full manual : https://the-creative-life.eu/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/instrukcja-obslugi.pdf (English is in the second part). It’s managed by Tuya, and I can do very BASIC reading via the Tuya app. Via the tuya IOT cloud, I managed to debug some basic information. I tried to send
So much has changed on Supernotify, especially if you hate YAML, and more to come
v2 a few months back added direct installation from the Home Assistant integrations page, without any YAML editing. Since then, the focus has continued to be on making it as useful as possible out of the box with no YAML, which preserving all the power of scenarios and user defined deliveries. The new action, supernotify.notify means you never need see a nested data: section ever again, and makes it easy to add camera snapshots or Alexa announcements to notifications. And you can use area, floo

Smooth dimming with IKEA Bilresa + Kajplats?
Has anyone managed to get the following functionality with IKEA Bilresa two-button remote + Kajplats bulb? Smooth dimming upon button hold, of the same quality as when using direct Touchlink pairing between the remote and bulb. Decent reliability (still works while HA rebooting?) These devices are officially Matter/Thread. They have limited Zigbee modes but it seems to come with issues, especially for Bilresa. I could get good results out of old IKEA Zigbee remotes (Rodret/Styrbar) paired wit

Replacing my Logitech Harmony Hub and Remote
I replaced my Logitech Harmony with Home Assistant, and I’m still amazed how far it went I never realised Home Assistant was this powerful. I started with a remote that kept getting things wrong and ended up with a phone remote for the whole living room that does things the Harmony never could. Here is a quick show and tell of where it got to. The problem with the Harmony A Harmony doesn’t know what state anything is in. It only knows what it last told each device to do. Press “Watch Sky” and i
Smart Thermostat Knob — ESPHome
[Show & Tell] Smart Thermostat Knob — ESPHome round rotary knob for climate, lights & covers (CrowPanel ESP32-S3) A round rotary smart display that controls your thermostat, lights, and covers straight from Home Assistant — no phone, no app, just a knob you turn and press. It’s fully open-source ESPHome firmware built for Elecrow’s CrowPanel ESP32-S3 rotary displays, with an optional HACS integration so you never have to hand-write YAML to configure it. I wanted something that felt like a real
A Thermal Camera That Uses WebUSB
When creating a peripheral for a mobile phone, an obvious path is to create a companion app with which to talk to it. But as we all know today’s app is tomorrow’s non-functional abandon
Vent Axia Sentinel Kinetic MVHR External Component
Hi guys, Im still playing with the idea of removing the old “control board” from the unit and replace it with ESP32 that will control the “power board”. So I fired up the Claude Opus 5.5 that designed the board and used autorouter to route it. Then Codex Astra was doing review of the design and Opus was fixing it - but were they real issues? Im not sure It also runned simulations via PSpice. Big thanks to Alextrical for informations in this thread! Im no electrical engineer, days when I was studying this on High school are looooong gone
KWB Integration

New dashboard for the kitchen - Culinola
I had a C# dashboard in my kitchen that I had used for a long time. I have now replaced it with a new version built using JavaScript. It has connectors for Home Assistant, OpenHAB, MQTT, Homematic, Merkio, Google Calendar and email accounts. It can also display video streams and includes a timer, news feeds, and a radio. It is easy to implement more features. The layout and configuration are completed entirely within the UI; no configuration files need to be edited. The layout and configura
Echo Dot 3rd gen (2018) as a fully local Assist satellite, keeping Amazon’s mic array and wake word engine
@taucher4k It seems you may have a unicorn that potentially is not vulnerable to the exploit used for unlocking the bootloader. I shot you a DM, so we can debug this properly without spamming here too much.

DreamMaker Feel Fan Plus / Dream Maker DM-FAN02-W
ESPHome should probably work with this newly available solution: GitHub - dhewg/esphome-miot: ESPHome components for MIoT devices I just received a newer model: Mi Smart Standing Fan 2 which uses a ESP-WROOM-02D with 18 pins. Photos: Esphome? · syssi/xiaomi_fan · Discussion #150 · GitHub I just started writing an ESPHome configuration with the support of the specs available at Xiaomi Smart Standing Fan 2 Pro dmaker.fan.p33 - 小米/米家产品库 - Xiaomi Miot Spec but right now I’m trying to first figure

Network integration of multiple coordinators over 40 acres
Gday, I am new here.I want to create a HA network at home.I have nearly 40 acres and want HA to cover 200m to front gate .It currently has wifi coverage for a camera and a Wifi Plug that works, also a shed about 30 m from the main house that will have an ethernet connection( in progress). I have not as yet purchased any hardware but was thinking of a HA Green with a USB coordinator for main house, and the other units as wifi and ethernet. If need be the 200m gate I could put in a wifi bridge. I a

Utility_meter with delta_values: true incorrectly increments on YAML reloads
Hello everyone, I am running into an issue combining a Template Trigger Sensor (which calculates positive deltas from a jumping source sensor) and a Utility Meter in delta_values: true mode. The Scenario: I have a source counter (sensor.softliq_sd21_soft_water_quantity) that should increase monotonically. However, there appears to be a bug which causes this sensor jump down at irregular intervals. This is an already raised issue on GitHub, but until it gets resolved upstream, I’ve to come up with a solution in HA.
Check integration status
Hola guys. Sory if it easy, but i breake my brain long time. I whant to send notify in Telegram when HA is started up and send some info about all integrations, like current status (running or not). So i need variable in text message but i cant find what it should be. Like: service: notify.odnaf_butler_chat data: message: > ✅Home Assistant✅ Start up succed 1. Integration {{ if (state.integration.status) {🟢} else {🔴} }} 2. Integration ...... etc... t.y.

Weewx MQTT data not showing in HA
I have a Weewx weather station, and I am struggling to get the date into HA. I have installed the weewx-mqtt extension. I understand that there are other extensions, but they seem to either need to be running inside Docker alongside Weewx, or needing the whole thing to be installed using pip which again I’m not. It’s a vanilla Raspberry Pi OS install with Weewx installed via Apt. Anyway, I have configured the Weewx part in weewx.conf as below [[MQTT]] server_url = mqtt://mqtt:****
Omlet Auto Door for Chicken Coop
The signal strength of 70+% indicates the control panel is able to connect to your wifi network, but the fact they’re still showing as offline suggests something is preventing them from connecting from there to our servers. It would be worth double checking that there’s no firewall rules, parental controls, or other types of security on the network preventing the control panels from connecting to us. If you’re using a wifi extender, also worth verifying it’s not lost its uplink connection to the

Thread device lost after update and duplicated after re-pairing
I bought a thread smart plug (Onvis T20) and wanted to connect it to my new thread network on the ZBT-2. It took some time to understand what to do, but it finally worked. Then I upgraded the OS (home assistant OS) and the device was gone, no way to recover it. I paired it again and now I have two of them, of which one is not functional of course. Should I delete the device and add it as completely new, to have a clean situation? And, most importantly, will this break when I upgrade the system next month or so?
