XIAO IR Mate Led keep coming back on
I have a XIAO IR Mate IR transmitter. When I set the LED to off, some time later it keeps turning back on… has anyone experienced this?
NGBS ICON integration to HomeAssistant
Dear All, I am new to HomeAssistant and one of my first project to integrate my NGBS ICON system to HomeAssistant. I understand that there is no native client for NGBS ICON system therefore I need to use modbus integration to make ICON communicate with HomeAssistant. I managed to set up modbus integration and it looks like that HomeAssistant can communicate with the ICON however I am not able to collect the information from ICON I am looking for since I dont know the modbus register I need to c

Ongoing integration of Hoymiles HMeter-CT-T120-RW into Home Assistant
I recently purchased a Hoymiles HMeter-CT-T120-RW to see that it is so new that is not yet properly supported by Home Assistant. I want to use that smart meter to provide my Hoymiles HIS-3L-G3-WL hybrid inverter with CT data. Idea is that Home Assistant polls the data from the smart meter, transforms it as necessary and forwards it to the hybrid inverter using a Ethernet-to-RS485 interface (in my case I need only data of a single phase, since the HIS-3L-G3-WL is a single phase inverter). To mak

Heiman HS1SA-M matter over Thread OTA instruction/guide
@leoXie Can you please provide a short status about the siren timer implementation?
Electrolux-made top loader (Westinghouse WWT8084J7WA) in HA by listening to its own panel bus: minutes left, stage, programme, lid
My washer is a Westinghouse WWT8084J7WA, an 8 kg top loader made by Electrolux. No Wi-Fi, no app. Until now Home Assistant guessed “running” and “done” from a power-metering plug. I wanted minutes left, which stage it’s in, which programme, the lid, and errors, so I went looking at how the front panel talks to the main board. It’s the Electrolux MACS bus, and someone had already decoded it Before probing anything I did some reading. Electrolux, AEG, Zanussi and Westinghouse machines use a
UHPPOTE Desk: open-source web app for UHPPOTE access controllers, with native HA integration (MQTT discovery)
Hi everyone! If you have a UHPPOTE UT0311-L0x access controller (the cheap 1/2/4-door Wiegand boards sold on Amazon/AliExpress), you probably know the only official way to manage it is an old Windows program (N3000 “Access Control”). I wrote UHPPOTE Desk, an open-source web app that replaces it completely and runs in Docker next to Home Assistant, with a native HA integration through MQTT discovery (no custom component needed). What you get in Home Assistant As soon as you set the MQTT broker, one device per controller and
OpenMote - a drop-in ESP32-S3 board for a Wiimote shell, running ESPHome for Home Assistant
Hi all! I’m Ezra. My friend Samson and I built OpenMote, an ESP32-S3 board that drops into a Wiimote shell, original or third-party, and runs ESPHome. At Open Sauce this summer people kept asking us whether it works with Home Assistant. It does! Home Assistant finds it like any other ESPHome device, and the whole board shows up as entities: 12 buttons, 4 LEDs, haptics, motion sensor, speaker, IR, and a mic you can switch on. What it is An ESP32-S3 board with WiFi and Bluetooth, 12 buttons,
Multizone Thermostat v3: Smart PID, PWM & Geofencing (100% UI / No YAML)
Hi @serv2002, Thanks for the feedback and for offering to test the 0–10V control! Regarding OpenTherm: under the hood, Multizone actually already handles both approaches, but having everything grouped into a single selection field in the setup flow can definitely be confusing. Right now, you can already pick a climate entity directly in the OpenTherm entity field: the integration detects the domain and automatically handles modulation via climate.set_temperature as well as ON/OFF switching via climate.set_hvac_mode.
Automations are not running Automatically
Hello all I have an Automation that Turns On the Living Room Light Switch if the Suns Solar Elevation has Dropped below 30 Degrees. This Automation has worked perfectly for some Time, however, over the Last Month it no longer seems to Run Automatically. If I Run the Automation Manually, after confirming that the Suns Solar Elevation has Dropped Below the required point, it Runs perfectly, Turning On the Living Room Light Switch. This Issue seems to have occurred after a Home Assistant Update, unfortunately, I do not know which one.

Zemismart ZM25 Zigbee howto (Tubular roller blind/shade/cover motor)
Before I dig deep and end up in a rabbit hole does this work with a ZM15B as well? I use zigbee2mqtt no ZHA, have no remote no Tuya hub and blind is added but obviously tries to go too low, probably too high but I think it just gets caught and the motor senses this and stops anyway. I have a ZM25 on order but thats coming from China rather than local ship so still en route.

Wired 24 V outdoor light with exposed sensors: useful or too niche?
Hi everyone, I’m working on an outdoor wall light for my own home automation setup. The project started because I couldn’t find a fixture that combined straightforward architectural lighting with sensors that were actually available to the local automation controller. I specifically didn’t want another Wi-Fi light or a fixture that keeps its motion sensor internal and only switches its own LEDs. The current concept uses a separate 24 V DC supply and wired RS485/Modbus connection. It has indepe

HouseView: glass-style widgets, screensavers and full-screen displays for wall tablets (HACS, MIT)
Hi all, Inspired by some products that have been announced recently, I’ve been building a dashboard plugin for a wall tablet in my kitchen and I’ve just published it as an open-source project: HouseView. GitHub - dandoingdev/HouseView: Glass-style dashboard widgets and full-screen views for Home Assistant wall tablets. · GitHub A HouseView kitchen dashboard What it is One custom card (custom:houseview-card) that arranges widgets into bounded, swipeable pages that fit the screen in landscape

Ikea Bilresa scroll wheel blueprint (Matter) - The Original
Hello, this is very cool and works so far but i am having trouble with one of the scripts. I am trying to get channel 2 on the remote to control Hue of a light only, but when I choose “lights: color hue only” I get an error “The automation “Aurora Light Control” (automation.aurora_light_control) has an unknown action: script.light_color_hs_helper”. I can see the script in the UI but I am not sure what I have misconfigured in the process. Any help is appreciated, thank you for the blueprints!
External connection issues, is there any other way?
Hi all, I used Nabu-casa for a while but it seemed to get a bit clunky and I started getting a lot of “unauthorised access attempt” logs so although I still support the cause, i stopped using the cloud service. My mediocre research pointed me to Tail-Scale, I set that up with help from you guys, and it seemed ok. I have the tunnelling option set so only Home Assistant uses the tail-net as it seemed to mess with my banking and parking apps. Lately it seems to be less than reliable and the TS a

Script Trace: Error in describing condition: can’t access property “includes”, e is undefined
I’m seeing the following error in the trace output for a script: Error in describing condition: can’t access property “includes”, e is undefined The trace identifies the condition as if/condition/0, but reports result: true. The script appears to execute correctly. I noticed a similar message in an earlier topic but that was for a trigger and was to do with legacy code. In my case I have used the UI to create the conditions in the script. The warning originally appeared for three conditions i

Heima — an experiment in learned, proposal-driven automation for Home Assistant
A quick update on heima v3 status. I fixed many ideas and requirements, in particular: Everything is a fact. Every reading becomes a HouseFact (what / where / when / how), with provenance, so you can always ask “why did the house do that?” and follow the chain back to the sensor. Semantic claims, not one global “house mode”. Presence, sleep, guests, vacation and so on can overlap. Each has its own evidence and confidence. Learning that asks first. Patterns are mined from history but never act on their own.
Cannot access HA remotely since August update
I use HA OS on a NUC, and I used to connect it remotely (either with a web browser or the mobile app). I use the DuckDNS extension, which redirects to my home router. The router is configured to redirect the HA port to the NUC. It used to work correctly until the August update. Basically, I get a timeout. * Host myhost.duckdns.org:8123 was resolved. * IPv6: (none) * IPv4: myIP (correct) * Trying myIP:8123... * ipv4 connect timeout after 9881ms, move on! * Failed to connect to myhost.duckdns.

TCL Water Heat Pump ( SMKLd-10D/HBp-A / THF-8D/HBpO-A)
Hello, I acquired and installed the following heatpump from TCL. I am not proud about not buying local, but my DIY store wanted to get rid of it. Now I’d like at least to read basic information from it into my HA. Full manual : https://the-creative-life.eu/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/instrukcja-obslugi.pdf (English is in the second part). It’s managed by Tuya, and I can do very BASIC reading via the Tuya app. Via the tuya IOT cloud, I managed to debug some basic information. I tried to send
So much has changed on Supernotify, especially if you hate YAML, and more to come
v2 a few months back added direct installation from the Home Assistant integrations page, without any YAML editing. Since then, the focus has continued to be on making it as useful as possible out of the box with no YAML, which preserving all the power of scenarios and user defined deliveries. The new action, supernotify.notify means you never need see a nested data: section ever again, and makes it easy to add camera snapshots or Alexa announcements to notifications. And you can use area, floo

Smooth dimming with IKEA Bilresa + Kajplats?
Has anyone managed to get the following functionality with IKEA Bilresa two-button remote + Kajplats bulb? Smooth dimming upon button hold, of the same quality as when using direct Touchlink pairing between the remote and bulb. Decent reliability (still works while HA rebooting?) These devices are officially Matter/Thread. They have limited Zigbee modes but it seems to come with issues, especially for Bilresa. I could get good results out of old IKEA Zigbee remotes (Rodret/Styrbar) paired wit
