Why Did Hitler Really Leave the League of Nations? #shorts #DOD
Why did Hitler withdraw Germany from the League of Nations in October 1933? Publicly, Hitler argued that Germany was being denied equality. The victorious powers of World War I had imposed strict limits on German armaments, while international disarmament negotiations had failed to produce the broader disarmament Germany demanded. But Hitler’s foreign-policy ambitions went far beyond equal treatment. Leaving the League and the World Disarmament Conference removed an obstacle to the Nazi regime’s increasingly aggressive rearmament program. At home, Hitler presented the decision as a restoration of German sovereignty and national dignity. A November 1933 plebiscite produced an overwhelming official vote in favor—but it took place after Germany had already become a one-party dictatorship, amid intense propaganda and repression. #WW2 #Hitler #LeagueOfNations #NaziGermany #Shorts Join us on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/TimeGhostHistory Or join the TimeGhost Army directly at: https://timeghost.tv/signup/ Check out our TimeGhost History YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/timeghost Between 2 Wars: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLrG5J-K5AYAU1R-HeWSfY2D1jy_sEssNG Follow WW2 Day by Day on Instagram: @ww2_day_by_day Follow TimeGhost History on Instagram: @timeghosthistory Like us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TimeGhostHistory/ Source literature list: https://bit.ly/SourcesWW2 Archive footage: Screenocean/Reuters - https://www.screenocean.com A TimeGhost chronological documentary produced by OnLion Entertainment GmbH. #timeghost #timeghost #history #historical #history #worldwartwohistory #worldwartwo #ww2 #ww2history #historymatters #maps #cartography #camo

How Hitler Destroyed German Democracy in Just 60 Days #shorts #DOD
How did Adolf Hitler dismantle German democracy in just 60 days? After President Paul von Hindenburg appointed Hitler Chancellor on January 30, 1933, the Nazis rapidly combined existing presidential powers, state institutions, political violence and emergency legislation to eliminate their opponents. After the Reichstag Fire, the Reichstag Fire Decree suspended fundamental civil liberties. Communist and other political opponents were arrested as Nazi violence increasingly operated with state authority. Even under these conditions, the Nazis won only 43.9% of the vote on March 5. Then, on March 23, with Communist deputies prevented from taking their seats and SA and SS forces surrounding the proceedings, the Reichstag passed the Enabling Act, allowing Hitler’s government to legislate without parliament. Germany’s democracy wasn’t destroyed in a single coup. Its own institutions were progressively turned against it. #WW2 #Hitler #NaziGermany #WeimarRepublic #Shorts Check out our TimeGhost History YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/timeghost Between 2 Wars: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLrG5J-K5AYAU1R-HeWSfY2D1jy_sEssNG Join us on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/TimeGhostHistory Or join the TimeGhost Army directly at: https://timeghost.tv/signup/ Follow WW2 Day by Day on Instagram: @ww2_day_by_day Follow TimeGhost History on Instagram: @timeghosthistory Like us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TimeGhostHistory/ Source literature list: https://bit.ly/SourcesWW2 Archive footage: Screenocean/Reuters - https://www.screenocean.com A TimeGhost chronological documentary produced by OnLion Entertainment GmbH. #timeghost #timeghost #history #historical #history #worldwartwohistory #worldwartwo #ww2 #ww2history #historymatters #maps #cartography #camo

One Artillery Piece for the Road! - StuG III - Nazi Rearmament 09
Join the TimeGhost Army at https://www.patreon.com/c/TimeGhostHistory or https://timeghost.tv/signup/ The StuG III was built to support infantry. It became one of Germany’s most important tank killers. How did the Sturmgeschütz III go from mobile artillery to a mainstay of German armored warfare? Built on the Panzer III chassis, the StuG traded a revolving turret for a low silhouette, strong frontal protection, and a fixed gun. Originally designed to destroy machine-gun nests and fortifications, it gained a long-barreled 75 mm gun as Germany confronted the T-34 and other Soviet tanks. In “One Artillery Piece for the Road,” Spartacus Olsson follows the StuG III from Manstein’s assault-artillery concept through its development, production, and combat service. We examine its strengths, mechanical limitations, and the struggle between the artillery and Panzer branches over its expanding role. Germany’s most numerous fully tracked armored fighting vehicle also exposes a larger contradiction: Nazi Germany could build practical, economical weapons, yet repeatedly burdened its war effort with costly complexity. What made the StuG different, and why could its battlefield successes never solve Germany’s strategic problems? This episode continues our Nazi rearmament coverage, following Death of Democracy. Which vehicles should we cover next: Panzer I and II, Tiger, or Panther? Tell us in the comments. Did Japan Really Use Biological Weapons in WWII? #shorts #OOTF
Did Imperial Japan really use biological weapons against China during World War II? Yes. Unit 731, commanded by Shirō Ishii, conducted lethal human experiments involving plague, cholera, anthrax and other pathogens - and Japan’s biological warfare program went beyond the laboratory. Japanese forces deliberately spread disease in China, including plague-infected fleas and contaminated food and water. The exact death toll remains disputed and may never be known. But after the war, many of the people responsible escaped prosecution. U.S. authorities sought Unit 731’s research and shielded Ishii and other senior figures from war-crimes prosecution. In 2002, the Tokyo District Court formally recognized that Imperial Japan had conducted biological warfare in China, while rejecting the plaintiffs’ demand for compensation. #WW2 #Unit731 #WorldWar2 #History #Shorts Join us on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/TimeGhostHistory Or join the TimeGhost Army directly at: https://timeghost.tv/signup/ Check out our TimeGhost History YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/timeghost Between 2 Wars: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLrG5J-K5AYAU1R-HeWSfY2D1jy_sEssNG Follow WW2 Day by Day on Instagram: @ww2_day_by_day Follow TimeGhost History on Instagram: @timeghosthistory Like us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TimeGhostHistory/ Source literature list: https://bit.ly/SourcesWW2 Archive footage: Screenocean/Reuters - https://www.screenocean.com A TimeGhost chronological documentary produced by OnLion Entertainment GmbH. #timeghost #timeghost #history #historical #history #worldwartwohistory #worldwartwo #ww2 #ww2history #historymatters #maps #cartography #camo

How Did Hitler Become So Popular So Quickly? #shorts #DOD
How did Adolf Hitler build mass support so quickly after becoming German Chancellor in 1933? Hitler entered office leading a coalition government, but the Nazi regime rapidly destroyed German democracy while simultaneously cultivating genuine popular support. Propaganda presented Hitler as the man who had restored national unity, created jobs and recovered Germany’s international prestige. Carefully staged events like the Day of Potsdam, falling unemployment and Germany’s withdrawal from the League of Nations all contributed to the emerging “Hitler Myth.” But Nazi popularity cannot be separated from dictatorship. Political opponents were arrested and intimidated, civil liberties were dismantled, and by July 1933 the Nazi Party was Germany’s only legal political party. #WW2 #Hitler #NaziGermany #History #Shorts Join us on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/TimeGhostHistory Or join the TimeGhost Army directly at: https://timeghost.tv/signup/ Check out our TimeGhost History YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/timeghost Between 2 Wars: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLrG5J-K5AYAU1R-HeWSfY2D1jy_sEssNG Follow WW2 Day by Day on Instagram: @ww2_day_by_day Follow TimeGhost History on Instagram: @timeghosthistory Like us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TimeGhostHistory/ Source literature list: https://bit.ly/SourcesWW2 Archive footage: Screenocean/Reuters - https://www.screenocean.com A TimeGhost chronological documentary produced by OnLion Entertainment GmbH. #timeghost #timeghost #history #historical #history #worldwartwohistory #worldwartwo #ww2 #ww2history #historymatters #maps #cartography #camo

The 88 - Foe of Tanks and Planes Alike - Nazi Rearmament 07
Join the TimeGhost Army and enable us continue producing historically rigorous documentaries: https://www.patreon.com/TimeGhostHistory The German 8.8-centimeter Flak began as a heavy anti-aircraft gun, but war repeatedly dragged it into new roles. It shot at bombers, destroyed tanks, smashed bunkers, supported infantry, and eventually defended the collapsing Reich from Allied armies advancing into Germany. Its origins, however, predated the Nazis. Developed through clandestine cooperation between Krupp and the Swedish firm Bofors, the Flak 18 emerged from Weimar Germany’s efforts to evade the military restrictions imposed after the First World War. The Nazis inherited that expertise, expanded production enormously, and turned the “Eighty-Eight” into one of the most famous weapons of the Second World War. From Spain and France to North Africa, the Eastern Front, and the air defense of German cities, the 88 earned a formidable reputation. But how much of that reputation was deserved? Was it really an unparalleled anti-tank weapon, or has later mythology exaggerated its contribution? In this German rearmament special, we examine the development, production, deployment, capabilities, limitations, and strategic effect of the Flak 18, Flak 36, Flak 37, and the substantially redesigned Flak 41. This is the history behind the legend: an impressive piece of engineering employed in support of Nazi Germany’s war of conquest and genocide. Did the Nazis Really Build a UFO-Shaped Plane? #shorts #OOTF
Did Nazi Germany really build a UFO-shaped aircraft during World War II? Sort of. The bizarre Sack AS 6 was a circular-wing experimental aircraft built by Arthur Sack, but it wasn’t a secret Nazi fighter. It was a private, unarmed prototype that struggled through repeated takeoff attempts and never achieved sustained flight. Germany did develop something far more advanced: the Horten Ho 229, an experimental jet-powered flying wing designed as a fighter-bomber. Its futuristic shape has since inspired claims that it was an early stealth aircraft, although evidence that it was deliberately designed for stealth remains disputed. So: one flying beer mat, one revolutionary flying wing—and absolutely no Nazi spacecraft. #WW2 #AviationHistory #HortenHo229 #History #Shorts Join us on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/TimeGhostHistory Or join the TimeGhost Army directly at: https://timeghost.tv/signup/ Check out our TimeGhost History YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/timeghost Between 2 Wars: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLrG5J-K5AYAU1R-HeWSfY2D1jy_sEssNG Follow WW2 Day by Day on Instagram: @ww2_day_by_day Follow TimeGhost History on Instagram: @timeghosthistory Like us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TimeGhostHistory/ Source literature list: https://bit.ly/SourcesWW2 Archive footage: Screenocean/Reuters - https://www.screenocean.com A TimeGhost chronological documentary produced by OnLion Entertainment GmbH. #timeghost #timeghost #history #historical #history #worldwartwohistory #worldwartwo #ww2 #ww2history #historymatters #maps #cartography #camo

Great Battles That Changed the World by TimeGhost
Join us on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/TimeGhostHistory Or join the TimeGhost Army directly at: https://timeghost.tv/signup/ After bringing you the most extensive coverage of World War Two ever created, TimeGhost is about to bring you Great Battles That Changed the World... and Some That Didn’t. I’m Spartacus Olsson. This is my next big project, and I want you to join me. Battles are fascinating in themselves, but great battles also act like burning glasses, focusing the problems humanity has faced into one fiery, dramatic moment. They reveal how we became who we are, what we might learn from those who came before us, and how we can become who we aspire to be. We will travel from the wars of antiquity through medieval Europe and imperial China, the Thirty Years’ War, the revolutionary and Napoleonic eras, the American Civil War, both World Wars, and beyond. But we won’t examine only what happened on the battlefield. We’ll explore the weapons and technology, military organization, personalities, politics, tactics, and strategy, and, crucially, how each battle changed the world, or failed to change it. Sometimes a battle forces history to choose between two paths, and that choice continues to shape our lives today. Sometimes it leads to progress. More often, it merely exchanges one road for another, with new trials and tragedies ahead. And some great battles change almost nothing. Yet they too can teach us about defense, resistance, courage, and the terrible futility of war. Starting in January 2027, I will bring you one new battle every week in long-format videos and Shorts on the TimeGhost channel, thoroughly researched and as academically accurate as possible, with seldom-covered details, maps, graphics, and everything necessary to bring the history alive. Meanwhile, I’ll also continue bringing you new World War Two content every week, and Indy will continue the Korean War. Producing all of this at the quality you expect takes a team, facilities, and

Were Hitler and Stalin Allies in 1939? #OOTF #shorts
Were Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union actually allies when they divided Poland in 1939? The Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact was formally a non-aggression agreement, not a conventional military alliance. But its secret protocol divided Eastern Europe into German and Soviet spheres of influence and provided for the partition of Poland. Germany invaded Poland on September 1, 1939. The Soviet Union invaded from the east on September 17. Their armies fought separate campaigns, but their governments had already agreed on spheres of influence and subsequently formalized the partition of Poland. So whether historians call the relationship an alliance, partnership or collaboration, one thing isn’t disputed: Germany and the Soviet Union cooperated in dismantling the Polish state. But if both invaded Poland, why did Britain and France declare war on Germany—and not the Soviet Union?
