Chris Pratt’s surprising new co-star: Pope Leo XIV
Chris Pratt has certainly had some interesting co-stars over the years. He’s shared the screen with dinosaurs, superheroes, and a rather opinionated raccoon. But his latest collaboration might just be his most unexpected yet, as the Hollywood actor is about to appear in a new documentary with none other than… Pope Leo! And if that pairing weren’t intriguing enough, the documentary will see Pratt heading beneath St. Peter’s Basilica to explore ancient tombs and archaeological discoveries surrounding the burial place of St. Peter himself.
Bishop Varden: There is a Catholic springtime in Norway
Bishop Erik Varden, a Cistercian monk and the bishop of Trondheim, Norway, recently published two books that illustrate the fruitfulness of a hidden life. Already becoming well known across the Church, he was asked by Pope Leo to preach this year’s Lenten retreat to the Curia. He spoke with Aleteia about his conversion to Catholicism, Norway’s spiritual awakening, and the power of the interior life. In an age when everything seems to be on display, Bishop Varden celebrates what remains hidden.

Prayer for Pope Leo
Heavenly Father, we know there is no circumstance that can separate us from you, that every action of ours acquires an infinite value if lived in your presence, continually offered to you. You have given us Pope Leo to be the Vicar of your Son on earth. We ask that you continue to allow us to benefit from his guidance, that he might continue to teach, sanctify, and govern your Church. Vatican: Nodule was cancerous, surgery a success
In a statement released by the Vatican on Tuesday evening at 9:53 pm, doctors said that the nodule removed from Leo’s lung was adenocarcinoma and that a lobe of his lung was removed. However, as the Pope himself indicated when he announced the surgery on Sunday, the nodule was small and “well-localized.” “The lower lobe of the right lung was removed using a video-assisted technique,” the doctors said.

Here is what Our Lady spoke to the three shepherd children and why the Rosary is a vital part of her message.
Pope names Irish sister to lead Pontifical Mission Societies
Pope Leo XIV has appointed Sister Mary Teresa Barron as the new adjunct secretary of the Dicastery for Evangelization. The Holy See Press Office announced the appointment on October 8, 2026. The Irish religious sister is the first woman to become president of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS), the Holy See’s global evangelization network. More than two centuries after Blessed Pauline Jaricot founded the first of the four Pontifical Mission Societies in Lyon, France, a woman has been appointed to lead the organization for the first time.
