Finally I’m ready for spooky season!!

Hello final girls, nice to meet you final boy! Finally I found time to trying this board game… AWESOME!! Very quickly setup, clearly rules and mechanics, funny to play and understand. It’s works well for me, because I don’t like game that requires more time to setup and space to play. Thanks for people that suggested this game!! submitted by /u/iPol_85 [link] [comments]

    Reprint :)

Shout-out to u/Panamaniac_3D for saving me $300. I had been considering picking up a resold copy from eBay for a hefty markup, but after asking about a reprint here and seeing their response I waited. Lo and behold, about a month later I get a notification about the reprint and It's ordered not 5 minutes later. One more week and it arrives. Now I just have to get a game (🫩) submitted by /u/Hopeful-Ad-830 [link] [comments]

    JOTL after Gloomhaven 2e?

~15 scenarios in to Gloomhaven 2nd ed; love it. Playing 4-handed with a group of 40s(ish) blokes and my 16yo. Wondering whether it is worth getting JOTL for after that is finished (or just for sneaky 2-handed between-session play with just my 16yo), or is it going to feel too brief / too hand-holding for initial scenarios / confusing with 1e-based rules? edit to clarify - gloomhaven 2e is my group's first Haven game submitted by /u/johnthestats [link] [comments]

"Cutting corners" becomes a contranym when polishing a diy prototype

Perfect braindead thing to do while watching TV, but I need to take breaks to let my wrists rest. This is for my new party game somewhat inspired by CAH that I'm calling either Cross-examination or Backed Into a Corner. Is the latter name too long for a game name? Like what constitutes a good game name? submitted by /u/vicorator [link] [comments]

What's a good solo game that is a pure engine builder?

I just realized that I don't have a single real engine builder, only Ark Nova and Gaia Project which have engine building aspects. What I'm looking for in particular is a game in which by the end I am producing a shit ton of resources compared to the beginning. Terraforming Mars with preludes and automa expansion, Terraforming Mars Ares with Crisis, Jump Drive with Terminal Velocity, and It's a Wonderful World are three that I'm considering. However, I have doubts about each of them:

  • Designer Diary - Nature: Climate - Redesigning a Classic

by Dominic Crapuchettes The Nature system currently has a BoardGameGeek rating of 8.6 - well beyond my wildest expectations! This designer diary tells the story of its most recent module, Nature: Climate. The first five modules introduced entirely new material, but Nature: Climate takes a different approach: it's a redesign of an Evolution expansion. I saved it for last because I knew it would be the most challenging module to create.

Lost Legacies Faction Showcase: Part 2

A follow up to my previous post here are factions 4-6 of my Lost Legacies Homebrew?so=search). I wanted to put a lot of care and focus into designing starting fleets/techs and homes in a way that helped showcase combos within the factions to show off what they are good at, so you might see a few quirkier fleets or starting setups among the project. I'll keep these up piecemeal to ensure they're easy to digest but feel free to check out the wiki?so=search) if you're bored submitted by /u/theodis09 [link] [comments]

    Namiji Review

Stonemaier Games recently acquired the rights to the classic white box game Tokaido and its follow-up Namiji. Tokaido is well known and loved around my house, as we have the collector’s edition that was on Kickstarter a while ago. But it’s been over a decade since that game first debuted. When Stonemaier’s version of Namiji […] Source

Discussion on Game style options for three players on taken home system

Hello, Me and my good close friends play once a month, with pok c1-4 and now TE. We have found that our playstyles have some attrition and would love to have more input from outside: We were discussing how a player should react to their home system being taken from other players. The issue arises when a player which has their home system taken, stops playing to win and attacks to retaliate/punish/damage the player that attacked. The two point of views we have:
