R1 or R2 equivalent to
I've got a 2011 Iseki TM 3160 with turf tires and they are absolutely useless as far as traction goes. Anyone know what, if any R1's or R2's (preferred) are equivalent on the O/D to a 212/80D-15? I'd have to have the same O/D due to it being 4WD, I know they don't have to be absolutely perfect but close, the current o/d according to specs is 28.4".
Changing HST Fluid BX2230
Can I drain the HST fluid through the strainer port ? I removed the strainer and about 2.5 gallons came out. I spilled about 1/2 quart using the funnel to refill, I'm down about a quart.
universal seat replacement on a 2010 GC2400
first, no idea if this would work on a GC2410/2610 BACKHOE unit, it SHOULD also work on a GC2600 NON-backhoe unit. The GC2400 seat is a 2 piece tilt forward seat that NOBODY is selling parts for. A GC1723 non-backhoe seat will work with mod on seat switch (meh I run bypassed often so this not
Gas Charged Strut to replace hood steel prop on TC55
Has anyone replaced their metal hood prop rod with a gas strut for their TC48, or TC55 tractor. I am spoiled now with the Kubota MX series and their gas charged hood strut. I lift my hoods regularly to check fluids, possible bird nest, keeps mice out, etc. Was looking for a link to one that has already been proven to work. I don't mind doing the fitting if no one has done this yet.
2016 26XL won’t crank
Ran good when I put it away then nothing the next morning. Checked battery, pulled starter spins on bench ( test not under load). Leaning towards hydraulic pump but don't know how to troubleshoot it. Outside of Pittsburgh if a mechanic knows what it is.
Got my free shirt today!
Got my free T shirt today, pretty nice and I liked the price. I can’t really remember what I even did to win it, maybe a post to a particular thread and then a random drawing? Thanks for the shirt! View attachment IMG_5596.jpeg
Guess I’m a Sawyer now? A 1991 Kasco “The Saw IIA” Sawmill is mine!
Well I have dreamed of buying a bandsaw/sawmill for a pretty long time now. I’m not a very prolific woodworker. And I barely have any free time for projects or hobbies nowadays. But life smacked me right in the face with an opportunity, and I decided not to regret declining it and never
A couple More Tractors Followed Me Home - John Deere 2210 Overhaul
Well, the time came for my parents to move out of their maintenance heavy, fully landscaped, multiple out-building property on 2.5 acres outside of Ann Arbor, MI, and into a senior living community. The decision point came up pretty suddenly this year, and it has become a bit of a whirlwind
Looking for suggestions on heating and air conditioning issues with upstairs not cooling properly
Looking for suggestions on improving upstairs cooling efficiency for our two-story colonial house. Our house is a five-bedroom two zone heating/cooling home with one portion being a mother-in-law apartment. Two years ago, I had both furnaces (single stage) and air conditioning units replaced
Starter Repair - Case VA 1952
Just picked up a Case VA tractor and among a few other things the starter isn’t always engaging properly and after pulling it out I am pretty sure the cause is the 1/4″ of axial play in the starter. This is the Auto-Lite MZ-4114 starter, I strongly suspect that there is a bushing or spacer of
Ethanol / E100 -- brewing, cooking, burn, fuel
Ethanol / E100 -- brewing, cooking, burn, fuel. Anyone here do that? Probably straight Corn Ethanol. Anyone cook that and/or run it? If so, what breeds and brands or equipment? Any special modification to do so? Thanks! (btw, please move this if not in correct area?)
Heat
It's finally been done here. The hottest day ever recorded in the 43 years I've lived here. 106F The only good thing - 5% relative humidity. Trying to fight a wildfire in this heat - unbelievable.
New hydraulic hose. $$$
I had a new hydraulic hose made for my log splitter today. $267 at the NAPA store. There is a diesel repair place less than 2 miles from my house that makes them but he didn’t have the right fittings. The threads were British Pipe Threads. Never heard of it before. The local farm store was out of hydraulic fluid so back to NAPA, $50 for two gallons.
Pictures from an athletic field contractor
A few other members have started picture threads of their work and I found them to be interesting. @Hay Dude @Lineman North Florida Well....here are pictures from my work. Working rail roads and their tracks
I have RR experience when I worked for about 5 different car repair shops over the years as a welder. (ak carmen) This thread is about anything associated with RR's.

Greetings from dusty outback Australia
Hi all, Leon from Coober Pedy, South Australia here. Was pretty happy with a pick and shovel, escaping white collar tech work days to dig on my property. Recently got my first mini excavator, koop 10hp 1t. Now, I'm hooked and have my sights set on a loader or small crawler to help move muck about. Here for tips, tricks and banter! Cheers!
Possibly dumbest question ever - where do I buy attachments?
Seriously. I just bought a used L2501. I’d like to buy quick attach forks, a smaller bucket for the backhoe, some other bits and bobs. But where do I go? My nearest dealer is an hour and a half away and doesn’t have a website that has “shopping” on it. Do I just roll up and start asking for stuff? I know this is a dumb question but we just don’t have the resources around here that it seems most of you have.
LS tractor, low Power
I have r4041 LS tractor 2012 year. I changed out all filters, hydraulic fluid, oil, fuel. Cleaned the fuel tank. To go it struggles initially to get the power to move. Can't push tractor to pick up load of gravel. Once bucket is finally full I can pick up and carry the gravel. Just really hard to pick it up because there is no push power. Any ideas?
TYM T554 parts/service manual
Looking for a PDF of the T554 HST service and parts manual. I know this question has been asked before, but some of the older posts on this website do not have working links anymore. Hawkins Equipment had parts manuals online about two weeks ago, but they sold and I have not heard from the new
Transporting turbo tractor
Quick question: i'll be selling my tractor through dealership next week, they'll be hauling it 60-70m. Do i have driver put sock over stack to prevent turbo pinwheeling, or is that an old school wives tale today? i don't want any malfunctions when it shows up at the lot, thanks
Old Man, Old Tractor
I own about 8 acres of land in Central Texas and recently bought an old Kubota L295DT with a loader. It showed up at my place with the loader taken off and in need of a new hydraulic pump. Hydraulic pump has been replaced and now I am fixing the small things. I put the box blade on first (I live on a long gravel road) and now I am getting ready to put the loader on. Tractor runs good, the old man behind the wheel wears out quick.
LowBoy Trailer Boards
I need to re-coat my trailer boards. Had replaced them about 5 years ago - used treated lumber, but the Texas sun has really did a number on them. Been reading about used motor oil + diesel, plain motor oil, Hydro fluid + used oil and other products. I suspect the wood will soak in quite a bit
Hi folks!
Hey everyone, New here just introducing myself quick, my names Jacob from central MA area. My tractor obsession started several years ago when I picked up my first wheel horse out of the blue. It’s basically a b80 but it’s a 73, that year they had tried to do away with models or something like
Massey Ferguson GC 1725 MB - QUAD rear remotes
I don’t know the proper name of what I want ... But I want a manual hydraulic valve that kinda acts as a toggle with “off” being in the center, push it one direction the fluid goes one way, bring it back past center, fluid goes the other way ... I have one on my Kubota that runs the rear remote
“Buck,” my sloppy ol Hoe
Marketplace strikes again. 1966 Ford 4500, 2 speed shuttle shift with H/L. Early form of the 6x4 trans, just no 3/6. Gas engine. Smokes like a certain mercury, hence the ol gal’s new name. Typical backhoe. Cylinders all need some form of attention. Power steering works… most of the time
New chainsaw/warranty/damage???
Sorry in advance for a long story, however, “what would you do?” is appreciated. Last month I ordered a hydraulic chainsaw from Limbsaw in Oklahoma. Total with shipping about $3K. Basically a 20″ saw on a 10ft pole with hoses & hardware. It was for my new excavator, so not to damage buckets I
New owner of kioti dk4220
Good evening, Was excited about my new tractor, but had nothing but issues so far. 7-8hrs in blew a fuel return line off fuel injectors. Found the line to be crimped in two places. Had to buy a new hose harness out of pocket because it was cheaper than hauling it 250km to the dealership. Then
TYM T264 Severe smoking
Just got this T264 with only 136 Hours on it. Don't know the history but I suspect it was not maintained properly. Oil was black and when I start t first thing in the day it smokes severely and skips for a couple minutes then clears up and runs fine. Starts and runs fine the rest of the day.I suspect that the previous owner ran it at idle a lot and carboned things up and possibly fouled an injector but don't know that for sure. Any suggestions on the problem and solution?
XT1 dies on brake release
Sorry, wrong thread Rough season so far for this 8 yr. old XT1. Started the season with the fuse blowing fairly often. Tried to find the issue myself, with no luck. Had to go to the repair shop. A few weeks after that the mower would just randomly shut off, but easy to restart. Then had 2 drive
TYM newbie
I just bought a 2022 TYM T264 so I am looking for people to share info with.
Good afternoon all - New Owner - 1952 Case VA
Good afternoon all - recently purchased this tractor. Bought it as a “yard art” piece. Got it home and started digging into it. After tweaking a few things I got the engine running and the hydraulics tested. The Eagle Hitch functions, the engine seems to run nicely though I will probably
Natural gas?
We’re downsizing house and property after being here for over 20 years. New home is still rural, but closer to larger town and a lot more homes on the road to what I’ve been used to. Wife noticed a gas line on the new road, so I called the local natural gas company. Turns out if I convert
Shipping again
Deliveries continue to be a problem, so I went looking for information. I ran across this guy, who kind of explains why my overnight refrigerated medicine delivery took a week to show up. He has a separate video on why drivers are turning down USPS loads. Fuel is not the only problem facing the trucking industry.
Is there such a thing as a affordable hydraulic crimper?
I have a number of 1/4” & 3/8” hydraulic hoses to make and was wondering if anyone makes an affordable crimp machine that won’t break the bank. Reusable ends seem to be very limited to find. I had NAPA make two 27” long hoses for me the other day with 1/2” male npt on both ends at a cost of $60.00 each which seems pricey to me. Anyone here make their own hydraulic hoses?
John Deere 410 Backhoe to SSQA Adapter
*I posted this on a different forum, but since it is tractor related, it makes more sense to post it here. I have a 2011 John Deere 410J backhoe and need attachments. This backhoe has the quick change bucket on the front that John Deere calls “Worksite Pro”. Well finding anything that adapts to
Comms prep for winter and beyond- GMRS models so many
OK, so finally reached the point, I can now focus a bit on comms for winter and well life in general. There are a bahzillion radio brands, models, budgets out there. In the Shiner area, not many hills, lotta oaks and pecan trees. Application: staying in touch with the CFO in the house, NOAA

Rippa R10-6 Eco with Kubota Diesel
Hello all, even though I’ve been a member since 2019, I’m not active at all here as far as posting but I do peruse and learn quite a bit. Just purchased this from a dealer about an hour away. He had already cleaned both tanks, changed all fluids and greased everything so after checking
Are there any electricians in the house?
I have some really weird things going on in my house right now. A little history, I never have had this problem before but last weekend the power went down for a whole day. Since then, I have been having issues with losing power in a couple rooms in the house. No blown circuit breakers. It’s
AI and it’s usefulness in everyday life?
So, I really haven’t messed with AI much, but when son bought his project truck, someone on here copied and pasted ChapGPT’s answers. Which honestly where pretty good. Then wife needed to update a resume, she said ChatGPT made it a breeze. I went ahead and downloaded Deepseek, and have used it
1984 555 wiring harness route under hood
My alternator is on the left side of the engine. Does the wiring harness run along the left side (when seated in seat looking forward) and wrap around the front of the engine to supply the air filter sensor and thermos start module?….or is it supposed to run along the right side and wrap around
Board and Batten Wood Siding - Any Tips?
Now that I (finally) have a builder lined up for my barn, I’m working through the details for the siding which I’ll be installing myself. Plan is to do 1″ thick rough sawn cypress board and batten 12″ boards and 4″ battens. Will use 2 1/4″ .092″ hot-dipped ring shank nails for the boards, 3
Driver protection when bush hogging
I am wanting to add some protection from limbs and such to the right side of my L4400 and have seen some tractors over the years with expanded metal mounted to a frame to protect the driver when bushhogging. What is the easiest way to go about this? Right now, there are no front supports to mount anything to. Anyone have pics you can share of your setup?
Cleaning the inside of the diesel tank
Struggling with the cleaners I had attempted to use to remove the tar on the bottom of my diesel tank off my Ford 555 I strapped the tank to my small tractor and loaded it with a hundred or so nuts and bolts and let it spin forward and backwards 15 minutes each way. Inside of the tank is bright
Just Little Bites
I got home late this morning, and put on the backhoe (BH) on my Little Baby Fergie as it was starting to sprinkle, I’ve only gotten .62” of rain in the past 2 months, so it was very welcome, but I was hoping to clean out the creek that has been dry, and hopefully widen, and maybe deepen it, it
How much liquid in tire?
I’m rather frugal and tend to like to do stuff myself ... I added “some” water to my rear tires to aid in TRACTION, and Lower the center of gravity ... Started out with what I called a “quarter” (07:30) but reality is ... It really much more, as the entire bottom section if full! This is on a
Subcontractor contract. Doesn’t seem right
Bought a log cabin kit as an addition to existing cabin. Bought the dry-in service from the cabin kit manufacturer. Was given firm price on kit on which we have paid non-refundable earnest money of $10,000. Given estimate/quote on dry-in cost with understanding that there may be unforeseen
Rotary Cutters: Bush Hog or Woods
I know it depends on models and this could very well be opinionated, but all around, who makes a better rotary cutter (brush hog), Bush Hog or Woods? I’ve never owned any Woods product but have owned many Bush Hog rotary cutters over the years and have been well-satisfied. It will be going on
Bush Hog Cutting Height
What is your typical mowing height with your bush hog? How tall / thick is the grass/undergrowth? 12ft batwing here, been clipping a field (Teff residue) to about 4” and looks really good. I think the thing will cut as low as 2 inches, but scalps any shorter than 4ish inches. Beautiful cut
Husqvarna 356BT backpack blower
Does anyone have one? I am working on my brothers. It hasn’t run in 15 years, so I pulled the carb off to clean it and replace fuel lines. There is a plastic piece on the choke shaft that was broken- the choke rod attached to it. I have replaced it, but the choke rod is a mystery to me. I didn’t
Fishing Dock
Ever since digging my pond and it filled up, I’ve regretted not building a fishing dock. For years I tried to keep the shore mowed so we could fish, but every year, it gets thicker and harder to keep clear. Even with mowing and weed eating, the vegetation in the water gets thicker and harder
What have you done with/to your GC Series 2300, 2400, 1700 Tractor TODAY
Hey, since we mostly stick around here and post, I thought I would start a new thread (like others have done for different color tractors) for us to post about what we have done with our GC Tractors TODAY, or what we have done to our GC Tractors TODAY! Or maybe it's just a weather report at your location, Or maybe, oh well feel free to post... KC Edit, 11/24/2019, Sorry to all that have a GC 2600 Series Tractor that you were not included in the thread heading, just forgot about you?

My Own Firehall
One garage is full of tractors and atv's, so had to build a new home for my old Ford fire truck. Contractors did a great job. Was a busy summer. Never even got any of the antique tractors out to shows or parades this summer. Had the new garage built, renovated the house and finally had a transfer switch installed to power the house with my generator. No more running numerous extension cords! LOL What a great feeling to have everything the way I want it before I retire.
TC40DA Hydraulic fill plug
Hi all, Lost my hydraulic fill plug today when slashing some hairy grass on the neighbours place. The part is SBA398430560 which would be easy as pie to get if I was in the USA. However I'm in Australia and I can't get it easily. New Holland SBA398430560 PLUG TC45A 4 CYL COMPACT TRACTOR (10/03- ), www.partspring.com The part fits a bunch of CNH and Ford tractors apparently, does anyone know what thread it is? I have access to a lathe if I can't buy something to suit locally, but I
Used Trailer Prices
I’ve been dancing around the idea of getting a tandem axle 10k flatbed trailer for hauling cars & tractor. I currently make do with a little utility trailer and a horse trailer, but things like a car I just can’t haul. I periodically look for deals online. I looked today, thinking the economy
2026 Gardens!
It’s time. I’ll be starting my tomatoes and peppers next week. I actually brought two serrano pepper plants indoors last fall, and they are growing new leaves. This year I’m improving my seed starting operation. Last year my seedlings failed due to lack of light. This year I built a grow
My Homemade 3 Point Trailer Hitch
Ever get inspired to make something even if you don’t have a use for it? I did yesterday and this is the result... When we bought the old family farm, there was a Ford hitch in the barn that fit some old truck my grandpa had, and I had no use for. I knew it would come in handy, so I kept it out
Cool Nature Photos
I just spent a long weekend in Blackwater Falls, WV and Dolly Sods, WV taking photos. These are a few of my favorites that I captured. Click on the images to view larger versions. Enjoy.
A/C stopped working
Hi, My AC stopped working on my LS XR4140 tractor, and I'm looking for some help. The compressor appears not to be getting power. With AC switch on, the compressor is off. Here is what I have tried so far: Fuses Good. AC Pressure(s) Good. Direct 12v to the compressor, which engages it and blows cold air into the cabin. OHMS within spec on the pressure switch. If anyone has a service manual for the XR41XX that would be fantastic as well. Any insight is appreciated!
My New (to me) Yanmar YM3810
Bret, I absolutely love all the info. you’ve posted on the vintage Yanmar tractors. I now have a YM3810. It is very clean, especially the engine. The best part is it’s mostly all original. No ROPS, not UTDA Certified, not refurbished. I’ve done a few things to it since I got it, to bring it
Milwaukee M12 Tool Line
Not sure if this is the correct spot for this thread.... I will start out by saying I am a big fan of Dewalt tools and have several 18v. Been using them for years and have zero complaints. I have noticed though how much smaller and convenient the Milwaukee M12 line is. I understand Dewalt
adding electrical accessories
I have a Cub Yanmar tractor and an Ariens Apex mower, Both have fuse boxes. I want to add a 12V electrical socket and some lights. I’d probably add a seperate fuse box for the aux stuff and just need to understand how to wire it into the existing electrical systems? Years ago when I did a ground

Chains on a T1510
. . . with industrial tires. I sold my old chained Fergie a year ago and needed a replacement to plow my driveway; it goes uphill to the road, so it's a bit tougher than flat ground. I bought the NH last October and found out that it was pretty worthless in the snow, even with 4WD. I bought these chains over the summer from "tirechainsrus.com", got 1.5" spacers, and got it all together yesterday. Clearance seems fine with 1.5" spacers.
Automatic gate openers
What gate openers do you like? After getting sticker shock ($15k plus for gates and openers) I have decided install everything myself. I have the gates already. Will be a dual swing 20 ft opening, two 10 ft gates, with solar, remotes, keypad entry, auto exit, and timer for keeping gates open during certain daytime hours. Right now I am considering the liftmaster LIF-LA500XL40W-DUAL. This would be the lower end of their commercial line. The gate will be shared by us and two other homes.
Beekeeping
I’ve searched around and it doesn’t look like there are any active threads on beekeeping. Do any of you keep bees? I am going to try my hand at it, starting next year. I will get my supplies ready over the winter and have it all set up before spring so I can be ready for a nuc as soon as I can
Digging pond out
I started doubling the size of our pond without draining it. My son brought me a Yanmar 35 to play with. It has plenty of power but not enough counter weight as I did test its limits. I now have a Cat 303.5se that my son’s work will sell me at $10,000.00 plus below value. I dug a section 3’ by
Front Loader Hydraulic Post Hole Digger
I’ve battled rear mounted pto driven post hole diggers for 3 decades. Tree roots and stones that lock up the auger/drive, getting a new post next to a broken old post, hooking it up with bad shoulders, (it’s an age thing..). Last week i won a “mini-excavator hydraulic auger digger” at an
Just another junk chainsaw , Repairs explained , Work Collector Race All brands
I love that nobody knows about certain good saws out there. Had to put in another piston today after a tear down to see what was up with the stuck ring. These saws were way ahead of their time IMO. 1984 Partner 5000 plus and I had a 1979 5000 open port that was strong or stronger
OK, what on earth trailer is this and what could be used for hauling??
First off the guy who took this swears it’s not AI. It was stuck in the middle of Route 11 and Roses point New York just across from the Canadian boarder. Apparently driver was pulling out onto the highway, and the rig pushed him into a jackknife, and he couldn’t move blocking traffic
YM or FX for first tractor?
Hello. I am from Europe. I have two wheel tractor Yanmar that is from the same era as YM series. I will be looking soon for four wheel tractor. I have driven only one for short time, bigger and older, not japanese. I basically decided on two models, YM2420D or FX24D. From what I understand
Hello from Europe!
Hi everyone! I’m based in Europe and work in the agricultural machinery space with PARTAO. I’m especially interested in tractor maintenance, troubleshooting, fault codes, and parts, so I thought TBN would be a great community to join and learn from. Looking forward to taking part in the discussions!
Drain Plug Extraction
I have rounded out the internal flats of this drain plug. The plug is white, magnetic in the aluminum housing and is pointing down. I am intending to weld a mild steel coupon into it so that I can unscrew it. The photos show my first attempt with scrap. I am using this nut that was fastened to
