John MacArthur’s One Perfect Life
Has anyone read One Perfect Life: The Complete Story of the Lord Jesus. I was considering doing a study of the four gospels and this looked like a good resource. Are there better Reformed alternatives? Thanks.
William Ames’s Exhortation to Students of Theology
William Ames (1576–1633), the English Puritan theologian exiled to the Netherlands, delivered An Exhortation to the Students of Theology at the University of Franeker on August 22, 1623. Convinced that theology is “the doctrine or teaching of living to God,” he urged future pastors to know the
Spiritual gems from John Newton
Some encouraging and wise advice from John Newton: There is one whom though you see him not, is always near you to show you his power, his wisdom and his goodness. He knoweth your path and though it should be through fire and water, he has promised to bring you safety out. Try, if in dependence
Questions from my Sister concerning Baptism
Hi friends, My sister and her husband studying covenant theology and infant baptism. They currently attend a baptistic non-denominational church (semi-charismatic). They have a 15 month old little girl. My brother in-law has pretty much been convinced of the Reformed paedobaptist position, but
Devotional help for Small Children
Brothers and Sisters, I’ve recently been introduced to reformed theology and it has changed my life. I now found myself having a great desire to make my faith the focus of every aspect of my life, which ashamedly it was not before. I have 2 small daughters, ages almost 2 and a little
2026 PB Pick’em Week 4 ** Kick-off is 9:30pm, CDT FRIDAY
Happy Monday, my fellow fanatical football fans! Ok, maybe not quite fanatical... but despite the best efforts of the NCAA to ruin the sport, college football sure is fun! Week 4 is here and thus in-conference play begins in earnest. I’m excited to see which teams prove to be the cream that
Westminster Seminary California - thoughts from alumni?
Hi, all! I’m a future seminarian and am currently considering schools. I am a Particular Baptist (think 1689) who loves the Reformed tradition and am looking mainly at WTS, WSCAL, and RTS. I am very attracted to the academic rigor boasted by WTS. I am also, however, really considering WSCAL
Isaiah 14 and Satan
In a recent thread, some of us discussed the idea that Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28 have an additional layer of meaning beyond the literal historical references to Babylon and Tyre. My Bible reading for the day brought me to Luke 10, where I have a note written in the margins to refer to Is. 14:12
PDF Viewer - Chrome Extension
Well, I finally got tired enough of adobe crashing on me and slowing down my computer that I made my own PDF viewer. If you read any of those google books scans you might find it useful, since it’s designed to load quickly and keep your page (for example, if the computer restarts, it won’t
NEW BOOK: God the Wonder of Wonders by C. Matthew McMahon
God the Wonder of Wonders by C. Matthew McMahon (300 Pages) In Judges 13, Manoah stood before the Angel of the LORD, whose name was declared to be Wonderful. When He ascended in the flame of the altar, God revealed in shadow what would later be displayed in fullness in Jesus Christ: the

Resources for Greek Paradigms
Hello all, I'm a new Greek student at Covenant Baptist Theological Seminary. As we're moving into verbs, I've realized the importance of memorizing paradigms. Does anyone have any tips and tricks for learning paradigms? Or any good resources for practicing them? Thanks!
Which Puritan has been an influence to you lately?
Over the past year God has allowed me to discover the riches of the puritan writings. Although I've always heard of them since coming to Christ, I've never been influenced to read them as heavily as I have since discovering the reformed tradition. Listening to Joel Beeke, Mark Dever, John Piper and Iain Murray often reference the Puritans kept me ever-searching for other puritan guys. As of late Thomas Watson has been a favorite of mine. Which Puritan has been of much influence lately for you?
The Most Ideal Form of Church Government
From the studying I have done in the past, though I am a Presbyterian, I will admit that trying to understand Church government simply using the Bible is very muddy stuff. I was just looking into Congregationalism and I think there is a lot that’s appealing there and a lot of Biblical
