The Case for Sola Scriptura You Probably Haven't Heard (Michael Kruger)
Sola scriptura is one of those phrases people think they understand. Dr. Michael Kruger spent a lecture at Talbot arguing most of us have the definition wrong, then sat down with me to work through it. The trouble is the word "alone." People hear it and assume the Bible is the only authority a Christian consults, just you and your Bible under a tree. Kruger's point is that it means highest authority, not only authority. Creeds, confessions, church history, the sciences, all of it counts. None of it outranks scripture, because scripture is the only one that can't err. P45...One of the earliest four-gospel codices
We recently partnered with manuscriptshop.com to create exact facsimiles of early biblical manuscripts, and Dr. Kruger was the very first person to receive one of these P45 replicas. Dating back to the 3rd century, P45 is one of the earliest four-gospel codices, containing all four gospels and the book of Acts. Dr. Kruger noted how the physical papyrus breaks off into brittle clumps and lines, which is exactly how these ancient documents wear out over time. This specific replica beautifully preserves Mark 8 and 9. They make incredible gifts or display pieces for anyone who loves biblical history
