Impossible to Be Restored? What Hebrews Really Warns Against | Marcus A. Mininger
Few passages have unsettled Christians like Hebrews 6:4–6, which says it is impossible to restore again to repentance those who have fallen away. Does Hebrews teach an unforgivable sin? In the first of two addresses on Hebrews, Marcus Mininger clears away common misreadings and identifies the danger the author actually confronts: the temptation to abandon Christ and lay the foundation again in the old covenant alone. Rightly heard, the warning concerns the impossibility of going back, and it raises the covenant question Dr. Mininger takes up in his second address. Dr. Marcus A. Mininger is professor of New Testament at Mid-America Reformed Seminary. His research focuses on Paul and the General Epistles, including the warning passages in Hebrews. Delivered at the 2026 Reformed Forum Theology Conference, "The Covenant of Grace: One Savior, One People, One Purpose," at Lakeland Church in Gurnee, Illinois, on September 26, 2026. A Greater Joshua, a Greater Conquest: Another Look at Jesus's Exorcisms | Benjamin L. Gladd
Jesus bears the name of Joshua, who led Israel into the promised land and drove out its enemies. In this address, Benjamin Gladd takes another look at Jesus's exorcisms and reads them against the backdrop of Israel's conquest. Jesus confronts the powers of darkness, frees those held captive, and wins the decisive victory that Joshua's conquest foreshadowed. The Gospels present him as the greater Joshua, who secures the inheritance God promised to his people. Dr. Benjamin L. Gladd is executive director of the Carson Center for Theological Renewal and formerly professor of New Testament at Reformed Theological Seminary, Jackson. He edits the Essential Studies in Biblical Theology series and has written widely on the use of the Old Testament in the New. Delivered at the 2026 Reformed Forum Theology Conference, "The Covenant of Grace: One Savior, One People, One Purpose," at Lakeland Church in Gurnee, Illinois, on September 26, 2026. The Case for Sola Scriptura You Probably Haven't Heard (Michael Kruger)
Sola scriptura is one of those phrases people think they understand. Dr. Michael Kruger spent a lecture at Talbot arguing most of us have the definition wrong, then sat down with me to work through it. The trouble is the word "alone." People hear it and assume the Bible is the only authority a Christian consults, just you and your Bible under a tree. Kruger's point is that it means highest authority, not only authority. Creeds, confessions, church history, the sciences, all of it counts. None of it outranks scripture, because scripture is the only one that can't err. Reading the Bible Academically Compared to Devotionally
I don’t know if this will help any of you, but I share this because it’s been a really interesting thing in my life. I very much have a systematic mind when approaching the Bible. Often that would cause me to read the Bible in an academic way, thinking more about rationalization and categories
Apologetics Is Also Spiritual Warfare
Apologetics is not merely intellectual. Eli Ayala reminds us that unbelief is moral and spiritual, and Christian witness therefore cannot be separated from prayer. Full episode: https://reformedforum.org/podcasts/ctc978/ #Shorts #SpiritualWarfare #ChristianApologetics

Roman Catholicism and Christian Unity
Mark Gilbert joins Camden Bucey to examine what Protestants and Roman Catholics mean when they speak of Christian unity. Drawing on Gilbert’s conversion from Roman Catholicism and his work equipping churches to speak with Catholics about Jesus, they contrast a unity grounded in the Spirit’s work through the Word with Rome’s institutional claim to mediate grace and gather humanity into one visible communion. The conversation turns to Vatican II and Karl Rahner’s doctrine of the “anonymous Christian.” Camden and Mark consider Rahner’s optimistic anthropology, his account of God’s self-communication, and the influence of this framework on Roman Catholic inclusivism. They conclude with a pastoral call to understand Roman Catholicism on its own terms, speak with clarity and charity, and offer the assurance found only in the finished work of Christ. When Does the Restoration of Israel Take Place? | G. K. Beale
When does the long-promised restoration of Israel take place? G. K. Beale gives particular attention to Acts 1:8 and its use of the Old Testament and argues that the restoration is already under way in the church's Spirit-empowered witness to the nations. God fulfills his covenant promises to Israel in Christ and carries them to the ends of the earth, as the one Savior gathers one people to himself. The answer has direct consequences for how we understand the church, the nations, and the promises of the covenant. Dr. Gregory K. Beale teaches at Reformed Theological Seminary, Dallas. He is a leading New Testament scholar known for his work on biblical theology, the use of the Old Testament in the New, and the temple theme across Scripture. Delivered at the 2026 Reformed Forum Theology Conference, "The Covenant of Grace: One Savior, One People, One Purpose," at Lakeland Church in Gurnee, Illinois, on September 26, 2026. The transcendent & timeless word God

I'm back... I've known for a while that Bill just agrees with these lousy men in more ways than his own followers may realize but I didn't quite have the ability to articulate it like I do in this video. Prosperity preaching is in fact part of the DNA of the prophetic movement as it is influenced by Bethel. It's not just that it's in their overt teachings for they are more about culture than doctrine, social engineering than theological explanations, and pragmatic practices over explained values. P45...One of the earliest four-gospel codices
We recently partnered with manuscriptshop.com to create exact facsimiles of early biblical manuscripts, and Dr. Kruger was the very first person to receive one of these P45 replicas. Dating back to the 3rd century, P45 is one of the earliest four-gospel codices, containing all four gospels and the book of Acts. Dr. Kruger noted how the physical papyrus breaks off into brittle clumps and lines, which is exactly how these ancient documents wear out over time. This specific replica beautifully preserves Mark 8 and 9. They make incredible gifts or display pieces for anyone who loves biblical history

Turn to God in Suffering
One third of the psalms are prayers of lament. TGC President Mark Vroegop defines lament as “a prayer in pain that leads to trust.” No one wants to learn the language of lament, but when sorrows come, lament is the means God has given us to pour out our hearts before him. In this message on Psalm 102, recorded at TGCW26, Vroegop encourages believers to turn to God in suffering by acknowledging the reality of our pain while holding fast to our faith in his goodness. 📝ON THIS VIDEO: 00:00 – Prayer and personal story of loss 02:50 – Journey of lament 06:20 – Understanding lament 09:34 – Role of lament in processing suffering 12:55 – Practical advice for lamenting 19:29 – Pivot from pain to trust 35:07 – Hope and future of lament 36:16 – Connection to the cross 40:45 – Role of lament in the Christian life ——— 🎁 Help The Gospel Coalition build up a renewed church for tomorrow. The Covenant of Redemption and the Covenant of Grace | Camden M. Bucey
The covenant of grace has its source in eternity, in the covenant of redemption: the eternal agreement of Father, Son, and Spirit to save a people. In "Before the Foundation of the World," Camden Bucey traces the historical covenant of grace back to that eternal counsel. Following Herman Bavinck, he shows that the covenant revealed in time rests on an unchanging foundation in the counsel of the triune God. Before creation and before the fall, God purposed one redemption with one Savior at its center, and the unity and certainty of the covenant of grace rest on that purpose. This opening address gathers up the first two conferences in the trilogy and lays the foundation for the addresses that follow. Bucey is executive director of Reformed Forum and host of Christ the Center. He is the author of Karl Rahner in P&R's Great Thinkers series and Defending Our Hope: An Introduction to Christian Apologetics.
