Should Executions Be Livestreamed?
Gavin Ortlund considers whether Christians should watch a livestreamed execution, arguing that justice should be carried out with sobriety rather than turned into a spectacle, and reflecting on how viewing violence can shape us. What Makes Someone Difficult to Pastor?
Watch the whole episode: https://youtu.be/rRrwY-MDIjw Matt Smethurst and Ligon Duncan talk candidly about the challenge of shepherding difficult sheep. They discuss church members who lack social awareness, monopolize pastoral attention, become fixated on a particular cause, struggle to get along with others, or expect their personal ministry passion to become the church’s priority. The Only Way To Break Sins Power
Every temptation comes with a promise. It whispers, “This will satisfy you.” And every time we give in to sin, we’re believing that promise over God’s. The way to fight sin isn’t just trying harder or feeling more guilty. Faith breaks the power of sin because it believes something better — that everything God promises us in Christ is more satisfying than anything sin could ever offer. Read ‘Future Grace’ by John Piper to learn how to not just say no to temptation, but to say yes to a greater joy. Now available as a revised edition at Crossway. https://dsr.gd/4yDbJIV

Who Were the Sons of God in Genesis 6? | Difficult Passages #31
Genesis 6 is one of the strangest passages in the Bible. The sons of God see that the daughters of men are beautiful, they take them as wives, and the Nephilim show up on the earth. Then comes the flood. I asked my Talbot colleague Dr. Charlie Trimm to walk me through it. He teaches Old Testament and he’s currently writing a commentary on Exodus, so he’s spent real time in this material. Christianity and Perimenopause: Staying Faithful When Your Hormones Crash Out | Hilary Morrison
What does it look like to remain faithful to Christ when your hormones feel like they’re crashing out? In this first episode of a two-part series on perimenopause and menopause, Alisa shares her own experience with hot flashes, sleep disruption, anxiety, and intense mental and emotional symptoms—and how learning to care for both her spiritual and physical health changed everything. She is joined by physician assistant Hillary Morrison, who has spent more than a decade working in functional and integrative medicine. Together, they discuss what actually happens to a woman’s hormones during perimenopause, common symptoms to watch for, why some women struggle more than others, and the connection between hormonal changes, sleep, mood, weight, and overall health. They also discuss hormone replacement therapy, progesterone, estrogen, testosterone, testing options, nutritional deficiencies, thyroid and gut health, and how women can advocate for themselves when seeking medical care. Most importantly, Alisa and Hillary consider these questions through a Christian worldview. Hormonal changes may make obedience more difficult, but they do not define us or excuse sin. At the same time, caring for the physical body God has given us is not somehow less spiritual. Whether you are currently in perimenopause, preparing for it, or trying to better understand a woman you love, this conversation offers practical information, biblical encouragement, and hope for navigating this season faithfully. ----------------------------------------------------------------- This video is sponsored by: RANGE LEATHER American-Made Craftsmanship from Wyoming Go to www.rangeleather.com for more information Use my code: ALISA GOOD RANCHERS American Meat Delivered Go to https://go.goodranchers.com/alisa for more information.
