  • Any recommendations for a lightweight phone tripod stick and wireless mic for shooting wedding?

My brother is getting married next Friday and they hired a photographer, but opted not to hire a videographer because of the price. My plan as the best man and general fillmer for all our family trips was to have someone record the ceremony and later I would film clips of the guests, the evening, etc. I have a Galaxy s24 ultra, so the video will be recorded on that and quality won't be an issue since I will record in UHD at 60 FPS.

    Used RF 70-200 f/2.8

I picked up a used 70-200 from ebay and it has a 30 day return policy. I got it for a price I was happy with on a used lens. I received it today and I have tested everything and it all works. My only concern is the specs inside the lens. I want to make sure its not a major issue or an issue worth living with. Added images for reference. I will add images of my 24-105 L that I bought brand new in the 1st comment. submitted by /u/geoffdon [link] [comments]

(Rebel SL1) First real camera, I don't know what to do with my hands

Been wanting to actually get into photography for a while and am diving in. Been on a tight budget, so I was lucky to be gifted my dad's old camera and a Tamron lens. Learning to play with the settings, but editing has been a lot of fun too. Although I'm finding each setting or nuance can be it's own rabbit hole of learning. submitted by /u/Unamuzed-Toast [link] [comments]

    Tamron LD 70-300mm

Hello everyone, I bought a new Tamron LD 70-300mm as my old one is becoming faulty and half the time throws err 001 and the new one has arrived today but somethings not right with it. The seller claimed the lens is an EF/EF-S mount lens but they look different at the bottom. Yet it’s the exact same model. I believe this guy has sent me a Nikon F mount version. Attached are my lenses side by side. The one with the metal ring around it and blue background is my current lens and the other one is my new one. Please help!

    R50V vs M6ii vs m43 for EDC/street

I am a nature/landscape photographer who aspires to be a street/travel photographer. I have an R7 and RF lenses that cover a range of focal lengths. I am super happy with that set-up. I am looking to add a smaller camera for EDC and street photography. Here are 3 options that I hope to get some feedback on. They are similar in price range and physical size, and all lack an EVF (which is okay for me).

  • Handling client scope creep on a cheap £50 newborn shoot - FINAL FINAL UPDATE?

If you thought this saga was over after my last post, the plot just twisted one last time! Quick recap: After days of endless "bank issues" over a £50 newborn shoot, the client finally transferred the money. I sent over the gallery link, and literally 15 minutes later, he messaged back saying the photos weren't good and that a few of them looked "weird." Shortly after complaining about the photos, he sent a text demanding a £40 refund (so basically asking for a 35-image (+5 Free) session for £10).

  • Faces look much better on full frame?

I have a Fujifilm setup since I started photography about 6 years ago. I got into apsc because it was cheaper on the second-hand market. I have since then expanded my lens collection and I got myself a 50-140mm F2.8 for portraits. I wasn't impressed much with it; there wasn't enough subject separation even at F2.8 and I didn't like portraits taken on the lens. It didn't look pleasing at all to my eyes.

Free alternative to EOS Webcam Utility for a Canon Rebel T6 that lets me control camera settings from Windows?

I have a Canon Rebel T6 and want to use it as a webcam on Windows without paying for an EOS Webcam Utility subscription. Is there a free alternative that lets me control camera settings—such as exposure, focus, and frame rate—from the PC? pikpipipi I’ve tried installing EOS Webcam Utility, but I can’t get the camera working in OBS. I’m also considering an HDMI capture card. Can the T6 send a usable video feed over HDMI, and is there a way to remove the focus box and other on-screen overlays? submitted by /u/davss21 [link] [comments]

  • Getting into photography again. Sony a7v + Sony 35mm / 1.8

Its been about 20 years since I did any photography and finally decided to get back into it. Just sharing some photos. Currently trialing Dx0 PhotoLabs 10 for raw editing. Mainly I am just running around with the single prime lens when I go anywhere but will eventually get the Tamron 70-180 / 2.8 for more versatility. submitted by /u/Geotone [link] [comments]

    Lens Advice Please

I am simply an amateur photographer with no illusion that I will ever be pro. My main interests are shooting portraits for family and friends, some HS seniors, and landscapes while on motorcycle trips. I am looking to trade in my R50 with 2 kit lenses, and potentially my RF 24-105mm f4-7.1 lens that came with my R6 Mkii. Would you use the trade to obtain an RF 24-105 f4 or a 28-70mm f2.8 and an 85mm f2? Appreciate the advice. submitted by /u/Busy_Paint_5680 [link] [comments]

  • In need of a new camera— what kind should I buy?

Hello beautiful photographers! I have been using a Nikon D3400 since 2017, so nearly 10 years. It still works just fine, but as I am moving into the professional world I definitely want a camera with more clarity, depth, and overall is just better. What are your recommendations?? I mainly photograph theatre, families, headshots, interior design, and wildlife.

  • Are these Sensor Artifacts?

I was editing a photo of the sky above ice today and noticed some vertical lines in the image (see image). I was able to isolate them to see them better, but I have no idea what they are. Is this some kind of sensor artifact? Is it subtly in the background of all my images? I'm using a 7+ year old Canon Rebel T6i. Thanks for any help! submitted by /u/dweaver670 [link] [comments]

  • Can't choose between two beginner camera ?

Hello guys, I'm a complete beginner, at the moment learning about the technical side of things between buying anything. I searched a lot about what to buy as my first camera with my budget in my country. I'm gonna buy used, if that matters. At the moment, I'm torn between the Canon Rebel i5 and the Nikon D7000. Both are in my range with the canon being a bit cheaper. They seems fairly close in the technical side, nearly as old too and fairly, I'm lost. Do you have any advices to give me ?

    Camera issue Help!!

Hi everyone, I'm having a really strange issue with my Canon EOS 1500D, and I'd appreciate some help figuring out what might be wrong. While I was using the camera normally, it suddenly started malfunctioning. The LCD screen went dark, and none of the camera's buttons seemed to respond. The weirdest part is that the camera still takes photographs, and the images are being saved to the SD card without any problems. Here is everything I've noticed so far: The LCD behaves differently depending on the shooting mode.

Could you kind folks recommend a lens for milky way and landscape photography?

Current bodies: 90D, R5 Current lenses: EF 100-400L II, EF 135 F2 L, EF 85 F2 L, EF Macro 180 F3.5 L I mostly do astrophotography with a dedicated astrocamera and a few telescopes (300mm to 1400mm), but it's deep sky work on an equatorial tracking mount. I also do wildlife photography with the EF 100-400L II. I have the bug to start doing milky way landscapes and daytime landscapes. Particularly in the Southwestern United States like Big Bend, and areas in New Mexico and Arizona. I'm considering two options.
