Tamron 16-50mm f2.8 Review: Smaller, Lighter AND Cheaper
All photos edited with my Hibiscus Lightroom Preset Pack: https://juliatrotti.com/products/hibiscus-lightroom-preset-pack Hey everyone! Today I am sharing my review of the new Tamron 16-50mm f2.8 A which I'm using for photo and video on the Sony A6700. I'm testing autofocus, image quality, bokeh, chromatic aberration, lens flare, video and more. I also have the first party equivalent Sony 16-55mm f2.8 G lens which I will take a few comparison photos against. Let me know what you think about the lens in the comments! 2026 Fleet Week Submissions!
Had a blast taking these photos on a Canon 60D with EF 100-400 IS lens. My arms were exhausted at the end of the day! I am hoping to find a better vantage point next year. This year, I was by Fort Point area near the Warming Cup and felt like most of the shots missed out on the Bay Bridge backdrop! Hoping to have a monopod at Crissy Field next year but open to other suggestions!

The New Fujifilm Instax Soft Haze Film Brings 90s Style
Typically photographers love using mist filters on their camera lenses to get a soft glow, but the newest Fujifilm Instax film is doing that for them. To us, it already did a good job of that anyway. Fujifilm's instax series has won over millions of young photographers and casual shooters over the years. In fact, the instax series is still considered one of the most profitable camera businesses for the company. After the success of Square SQ1 in 2020, the company has finally introduced the instax Square 2 with a new soft haze film.
Fujifilm’s Instax Square Lineup Gets a Well-Rounded, Moodier New Camera
Fujifilm feels moody.

Fujifilm Instax Square 2 Review: How I made Over 40 People Smile
For most of my career, I've looked at Fujifilm's more affordable Instax camera options and kind of scoffed at them, but 20 years into my career, and I'm absolutely charmed by cameras like the Fujifilm Instax Square 2. Not only is it adorable, but if you're a photographer who actively talks to strangers, you'll realize that it's a wonderful way to connect with others. That word, connect, is one that I feel has been genuinely corrupted in our society by social media and other things causing us all problems.
I tried Fujifilm’s new square instant camera – and I love the built-in party trick
The Fujifilm Instax Square 2 is an easy-to-use instant film camera, but it's hiding a feature to create moodier shots
Instax Square is back! The new Fujifilm Instax Square 2 has a surprisingly fun color trick
The Instax Square 2 brings a simple design, zone focusing, and a clever built-in filter set to instant film
Best used mirrorless + all-in-one lens under $800?
I’m new to photography and looking to buy my first camera with a budget of about $800. Based on my research, I’d like to get a used mirrorless camera paired with an all-in-one zoom lens—either new or used—as long as the full setup fits within budget. I’m especially interested in buying through MPB, Amazon, or KEH, but I’m open to other reputable sites if you’d recommend them. Any advice on camera/lens combinations, what condition grade to choose, and what to avoid would be greatly appreciated.
Shutter not closing fully under certain speeds?
hi, i have an old Minolta Srt-202 here and it works completely fine, with exception to the shutter curtain at lower speeds. As seen in the two photos above, when I press the exposure release button on any speed 8 and below (8,4,2 & 1) it’ll hold the shutter open for the appropriate amount of time, and on the way back to close the shutter, it gets stuck at that same point every time. To reset and fix it i have to turn the film advance lever and put everything back into place, allowing the left side curtain to cover the film.
Any recommendations for a lightweight phone tripod stick and wireless mic for shooting wedding?
My brother is getting married next Friday and they hired a photographer, but opted not to hire a videographer because of the price. My plan as the best man and general fillmer for all our family trips was to have someone record the ceremony and later I would film clips of the guests, the evening, etc. I have a Galaxy s24 ultra, so the video will be recorded on that and quality won't be an issue since I will record in UHD at 60 FPS.
Used RF 70-200 f/2.8
I picked up a used 70-200 from ebay and it has a 30 day return policy. I got it for a price I was happy with on a used lens. I received it today and I have tested everything and it all works. My only concern is the specs inside the lens. I want to make sure its not a major issue or an issue worth living with. Added images for reference. I will add images of my 24-105 L that I bought brand new in the 1st comment. submitted by /u/geoffdon [link] [comments]
(Rebel SL1) First real camera, I don't know what to do with my hands
Been wanting to actually get into photography for a while and am diving in. Been on a tight budget, so I was lucky to be gifted my dad's old camera and a Tamron lens. Learning to play with the settings, but editing has been a lot of fun too. Although I'm finding each setting or nuance can be it's own rabbit hole of learning. submitted by /u/Unamuzed-Toast [link] [comments]
