AnyPS5 Project Skips Emulation Entirely, Aims to Port PlayStation 5 Games to PC Directly
A new open-source project called AnyPS5 aims to run PlayStation 5 games natively on Windows and Linux, without emulation. Its GitHub page describes it as a tool that relinks PS5 executables into the host system's native format and reimplements the console's system libraries for dynamic linking, similar in concept to Wine or Proton. Since the PS5 already runs on x86-64 Zen 2 hardware, close to a modern PC, AnyPS5 skips CPU emulation and recompiles shaders into SPIR-V for Vulkan instead.
NVIDIA Files Patent for AI Tool to Help Developers Diagnose GPU Performance Issues
NVIDIA has filed a patent for an AI tool that could help developers diagnose and optimize GPU performance issues through a plain-language chat interface. The application, published September 17 and first spotted by Respawn First, describes a system connecting an LLM-based chat agent directly to GPU profiling tools, letting a developer ask about a performance problem and get back custom-generated code that digs through diagnostic data to find the answer. The patent describes separate agents for general GPU questions versus report-specific ones,
Intel Expects 14A Node to Be Within 5% of TSMC’s A14
Intel's Foundry chief, Naga Chandrasekaran, spoke with investment bank KeyBanc Capital Markets about Intel Foundry and the future trajectory of its nodes. One of the most intriguing insights is that Intel expects its 14A node to be within 5% of TSMC's A14 node, with both competing in the same sector. Microsoft 365 Companion Apps Are Getting Retired

These were designed to provide quick access to people, files, and calendar events directly from the Windows 11 taskbar. However, it seems that Microsoft 365 customers did not find them particularly useful, and Microsoft plans to retire them on December 16, 2026. This is one of Microsoft's examples of short-lived mini applications.

NVIDIA's DLSS 5 has been controversial ever since its announcement and eventual launch. Perhaps more concerning than the visual changes is its effect on the user's hardware. As reported by Videocardz, Korean outlet QuasarZone ran its own thermal tests on the RTX 5090's power connector with DLSS 5 enabled, to see if the technology really has a hand in recent reports of melting 12V-2x6 connectors.
