After Years of Investing, I Finally Have a Moment to Say Thank You
I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to everyone here who has helped me along the way. I’ve been investing for many years, and honestly, I never thought I would see a moment like this. Looking at my account right now still feels a little unreal. I’m excited, grateful, and honestly a little emotional too. Just to give some context, I’m currently holding 1,429 shares of Dell Technologies (DELL). My average cost is around $176 per share, with a total cost basis of about $251K.
The US Should Learn From The GBP Crash
The pound was overvalued. The UK couldn't defend it forever, and eventually, it would be forced to make a choice: either devalue the pound or leave the ERM. The US, with Scott Bessent, should learn from the 1990s pound crash. Find the full story in my video: China’s Plan To Destroy The Dollar

How do you think about holding concentrated positions after big gains?
How do people here think about concentration vs diversification after a strong run? Over the past few years, my portfolio has become more concentrated in a handful of large-cap tech names (GOOGL, DELL, AAPL, MSFT, META, TSLA). These were companies I understood and wanted to hold long term, and the strategy has worked well so far. The interesting part is that some positions have grown much larger than their original allocation. At what point does a successful investment become too much concentration risk?

Anyone NRA from a country with no US tx-treaty and holding GS GPI* or NEOS ETFs ?
Hi all, I'm not from US nor US-resident, living in a country with no US tx-treaty and wanting to buy some Goldman GPI* and NEOS funds. Anyone in same situation can inform how those dividend payments are being taxed, if they withhold the regular 30% and them they it pay-back at the end of the year, or if even they don't withhold any and dividends reach your account intact monthly? Anyone hold rental real estate through a fractional platform, how'd you go about getting your money early?
38M and almost everything I have is in index funds across a 401k and a taxable account. Every allocation guide I get from my financial advisor says at my age and pay range I need to explore some real estate to help balance things out but I have no interest in buying a rental. I think fractional platforms seem like an obvious newer middle ground.
Getting Paid 5%+ to Wait: Treasury Yields at Multi-Year Highs Make Bonds Sexy Again
Equities have been crushing it this year, but long-term Treasuries have been moving the other way — 10-Year Treasury Notes now hit 5.24% and 30-Year yields sit at 5.60%, those multi-year highs no one was talking about a year back. The best part? You’re getting 5-5.6% annual coupon even if yields don’t move an inch, that’s a free positive floor to lean on while you wait for that eventual rate drop that locks in extra capital gains.
Nate Soares on How AI Really Could Kill Us All
Since the Hugging Face incident, concerns over AI doomsday scenarios has entered the mainstream. But of course, some people have been warning about this for years, long before LLMs or ChatGPT. In their 2025 book If Anyone Builds It, Everyone Dies, Nate Soares and Eliezer Yudkowsky spelled out their vision of humanity’s inevitable demise once superintelligent AI is built.

ETFs on Track to Outnumber Mutual Funds Early Next Year
Like Labubus and tinned fish, ETFs are very in style. Launches are breaking records and issuers are increasingly introducing ETF versions of existing strategies: As of Oct. 8, there are 194 converted ETFs, 142 ETF clones and 50 exchange-traded funds as a share class on the market, according to data from Morningstar. With roughly 5,718 ETFs and 6,202 mutual funds currently, the number of ETFs is expected to overtake the number of mutual funds for the first time in February 2027, said Ben Johnson, head of client solutions at Morningstar.
