    Which Alkaline Battery Brand Has Leaked on you the most?

    I am trying to find actual Alkaline batteries that won’t leak or at least won’t leak before I get a chance to replace them. I have a feeling Duracells are the main culprits as non of my devices with Energizers with the battery meter back in the day have failed, but all my devices with Duracells have leaked and destroyed my Gameboy, my smart lock (they were basically new batteries). Anyway, I want to see what brands people have experienced the most leaks. View Poll submitted by /u/Psychological-Hall22 [link] [comments]

    Is Trump Trying to Blow Up the Permitting Deal?

    This is Heatmap Daily, an evening news digest written by our executive editor. Subscribe here. At the end of the day, the biggest threat to the bipartisan permitting deal probably isn’t green groups, the fossil fuel industry, or monopoly utilities. It’s President Trump himself. The legislative proposal is meant to constrain the president from tampering with clean energy projects — and if it passes, then some of its provisions seem like they could do so. But in order for it to pass, Trump must adhere to the deal that he brokered with the bill’

    How AI went from climate hero to villain

    Not long ago, we were asking if AI would save the climate. Now we’re asking if it will wreck it. The truth is somewhere in between. But it’s easy to see why sentiment swung so radically. When the AI race kicked off, we were promised rapid breakthroughs in materials, a business model revolution, and a radically more intelligent energy economy. But many people feel like we got hulking gas plants, higher electricity prices, and broken emissions promises instead.

    Diesel Heater Priming

    I can't for the life of me find out how to put this into priming mode online and my heater came without a manual. (LF-Bros ES5.0 5KW 12V Parking Diesel Heater if that matters. I think the controller is a T2). I have a tiny little air bubble in the line. This happened last year, but I'm unable to contact the person that fixed it. I tried to squeeze the line and push it through but my fingers are not strong and I'm worried any tool would rip the hose. I've tried cold starting it to run the line probably 20 times and the air bubble won't move.

    Victron is Over-priced Eurotrash. Why would anybody buy Victron over an AiO?

    EDIT: This thread has become a Victron bro-fest. Anything Victron related is on-topic. Given that I'm also horrible about staying on-topic, even that rule is flexible... For those familiar with my post-whoring ways, this subject line is likely quite shocking. Just trying to make a point... Seemed a good lead into the question. The answer? Because Victron is worth it. It's a small company run by people who give a shit and care about their product, its performance, features and the... Read more

    Don't connect Victron MPPTs in parallel

    I thought I was clever, I made a combiner with 6 strings of panels down into the mech room. My idea was that any/all of the strings would be connected to 2 250/100 MPPTs. Each string of panels is fused... but the combination of panels was not fused to each MPPT. If you read the manual in the fine print it tells you that the MPPT can accept upto 70 amps. Well mister, 6 strings of panels can make more than 70amps. Aparently on of the MPPTs did a sweep and it caused the other to think... Read more

    Battery cable & fuse question -> Epoch V2-T 12v 460 ah

    I'm in the planning stage for building a new DIY solar generator. I'm ditching my old one with the four BB 100 ah batteries and decided to re-engineer based on what I learned the first time around. I'll be reusing the four 100 watt Renogy panels from the first build. Based on the max current possible from this battery I think I should be using 4/0 cable, and a A3T T2 400 amp fuse (and holder) off the positive terminal. As I understand it, that protects the cable and the battery's internal... Read more
