Where does the price of fuel wind up?

Please avoid making this thread excessively political. It will go there no matter what, just focus on fuel (gas or diesel) and where it will wind up over the next year. Gas and diesel prices in my area are now painfully high. Oil pumping ability of producing nations is adequate to bring enough to market to keep gas prices between $2.50 and $3.00 per gallon.
