  • Speaker volume randomly changes to 100%

Hi, HA Community. I have a strange case where one of my speakers the volume randomly will increase to very loud in the range of 75% to 100%. I tried checking the history but I’m not sure how to determine who/what changes the volume. A few nights ago the volume went up to 100% at 3:41AM! The screenshot below shows a lower volume because I lowered it before taking a screenshot. The times are random, and this happens almost every day. I have 3 Ikea sonos spakers and one HA Voice PE. This only a

Shelly’s new presence sensor simultaneously detects up to ten people without a camera

Following the launch of its $50 subscription-free security camera last month, Shelly announced another new accessory for smart home automation today that can keep track of multiple people as they move through rooms or large spaces without recording them. The Shelly Presence Gen4 sensor uses mmWave radar technology instead of a camera to detect the presence, motions, and activities of people and pets. It's available starting today for $84.99 through Shelly's online store and is expected to hit other retailers like Amazon and Best Buy soon.

  • HASS.Agent: Windows client to receive notifications, use commands, sensors, quick actions and more!

I want to install HASS.Agent on my administrator account and run it as a service, so I can control the PC even when my son is logged in with his simple (non-administrator) account. I installed both the application and the service, then connected it to HA via integration and to Mosquitto. The problem is that HA only sees the PC when I’m logged in; if my son is, it doesn’t, even though I’ve verified that the service is working. I guess I don’t understand how it works.

  • Local Balboa hot tub gateway for Home Assistant (ESP32 + MQTT discovery)

Hello, I’m using your esp32_balboa_spa project, version 2.28.1, with an M5Stack AtomS3 Lite and Atomic RS485 Base A131, connected to a Balboa BP2000/2100 controller (board P/N 24202_B). The firmware builds and runs, and Wi-Fi works. However, when connected to the spa board, it receives UART bytes but never detects a valid frame (UART_BYTES_NO_VALID_FRAMES). The spa’s original topside panel displays a communication error while the Atom is connected. When I disconnect the Atom and reconnect the original panel, the panel works normally again.

  • CVV Dashboard — ClasseViva school records in Home Assistant, with support for multiple students

CVV Dashboard brings the ClasseViva electronic school register into Home Assistant. HACS is required for installation. The integration provides: Grades and average grades, including results for each subject. School notices, attachments, and read status. An agenda with school events. Homework, teacher comments, and disciplinary notes. School reports and documents available for download. Four Home Assistant calendars for each student: agenda, homework, teacher notes, and room bookings.

  • Script Trace: Error in describing condition: can’t access property “includes”, e is undefined

Thanks Rusty. As I said earlier; " I changed these to standard state conditions, but the warning persisted". Although the code performs correctly it is somewhat confusing. It is being reported as an error but it doesn’t affect the result of the condition. The fact that I can use the UI to create the condition(s) using either state or switch condition and there are no issues with the resultant code, makes me think I should just ignore the issue. However, it would be good to clear it up just for completeness/correctness.

  • Ultimatrix: an ESP32 matrix clock with nine faces, including Home Assistant

Hi everyone, I’d like to share Ultimatrix, a project I’ve been working on for a 64×64 HUB75 LED matrix and an ESP32. It’s a clock with nine different faces: animated game scenes, live sports, a word clock, and a Home Assistant dashboard. The idea is to make something useful that’s also fun to have on your desk or shelf. The faces Home Assistant — rotating Home and Energy pages, with household status, power consumption, solar production, grid import/export and notifications. Football — fixtures, live scores, results and

  • EMHASS: An Energy Management for Home Assistant

Following my earlier EMHASS posts about controlling my Thermia heat pump, I have now published the Home Assistant integration I use for the equipment side: It provides local Modbus TCP sensors and controls for the Thermia Calibra Cool 7 BW, including heating, passive cooling, tap water, temperatures and operational states. The integration is independent of EMHASS. My Home Assistant automations translate the EMHASS p_deferrable outputs into commands for these Thermia entities, while the heat

  • Elecrow HA panel (ESP32-P4) - 3D printable enclosure

Hi everyone, I’ve been testing the Elecrow ESP32-P4 panel for Home Assistant and made a simple enclosure for it, so I thought I’d share the 3D files here in case they’re useful to anyone else. I like the concept of this panel because it works a little differently from many ESP32 wall displays: instead of building and rendering a separate UI on the panel itself, it displays the dashboard from your Home Assistant server. So you can keep using the dashboard you’ve already configured in HA. Th

  • Schluter DITRA-HEAT-E-RS1 WiFi SMART THERMOSTAT

No, I am trying very hard to get rid of any big tech cloud stuff, the schluter integration seems to work now. I’m likely to get rid of this thermostat and install or make something that works locally. I try to have my devices local, and use home assistant via a tailscale connection for any remote actions. This is one of a few that are still cloud connected. It’s hard to do, but everyday I’m reminded of the erosion of privacy and big tech having far too much data about me
