CHOPARD Blooming Love
During my meeting with the wonderful Give Back Beauty team at TFWA Cannes 2026, I realised that I had already covered almost every fragrance from our previous session, previewing the year’s upcoming launches. The one remaining was Chopard’s newest creation, Blooming Love, which launched during this year’s show. What I saw and smelled for next year must remain under wraps for now, but I can share o... Between Shadow and Light: The Versatile Umbra Oud
My introduction to the Anomalia Paris brand began with one of the brand's bestsellers — Umbra Oud. In Latin, the word "umbra" means "shadow". In the context of astronomy, an "umbra" is the zone of total shadow during an eclipse; in optics and graphics, the "umbra" is the darkest, central part of a shadow untouched by direct light. And in the fine arts, the word "umbra" denotes a dark brown min... Read full article: Between Shadow and Light: The Versatile Umbra Oud from Fragrantica Perfumes and Colognes Magazine.
MarMar. Greetings from Genoa
I don't have high expectations for 99% of new brands, but there are some things I usually appreciate: commercial genius, consistency, attention to the perfume, and particularly poetic storytelling. Come to think of it, it must have been the latter that made me fish the discovery set from MarMar out of my sample trunk. This is a young brand from Genoa-born Filippo Fornasini, launched this past May,... Read full article: MarMar. Greetings from Genoa from Fragrantica Perfumes and Colognes Magazine.
Perfume Bag Charms by Zara
Miniatures and travel sprays have become an increasingly prominent part of fragrance collections, with major designer houses and niche brands offering smaller versions alongside their full-size bottles. Their appeal is practical: compact and easy to carry, they fit comfortably into a handbag, pocket, or toiletry bag, keeping a favourite fragrance close at hand throughout the day. Travel sprays are... Read full article: Perfume Bag Charms by Zara from Fragrantica Perfumes and Colognes Magazine.

When you walk into a bakery and smell fresh cookies
When you walk into a bakery and smell fresh cookies, the enticing smell draws you in. After you eat a handful of cookies, though, the same smell likely doesn't send you back for more. Researchers in the McKelvey School of Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis sought to determine the biological mechanisms in the brain that controllably alters odor-evoked behavior by using an unlikely model—a locust. — Read more in What a locust can teach us about how neuromodulators alter odor processing at Phys.org.
A damp scent
All of this comes together to create a damp scent, with a freshness that leans more light aquatic than breezy marine. On first spritz, it opens bright, green, and watery; the dry down stays impressively fresh, though a touch of sweetness from the green banana note comes out more the longer you wear it. There is thankfully zero hint of “corpse” anywhere to be found. — Cosmopolitan on DS & Durga Resurrected Corpse Flower. ICON’S 26: Asia Speaks the Language of Perfumery - and Grasse Listens
There are cities whose names have long become more than just geographical designations. And Grasse is one of them. For the perfume world, it is not merely a small town in the south of France, surrounded by hills, fields, and old manufactories. It is a place of origin, a historical reference point, and to a certain extent, a guardian of the concepts of what we call haute perfumery. Musée Internati... Middle Eastern Perfume Oils I Love - Part 2
As Beauty World Dubai is underway and many new releases are undoubtedly being showcased, I find myself exploring my Alrehab perfume oils. These perfumes are among the earliest Middle Eastern fragrances introduced to the West. I already talked about some of my favorites in Part 1. I enjoy the oil versions a lot, and they layer very well under other scents. Shadha a relatively unknown gem, in my ... With Heat, Akro Explores Chili With Delicacy
This summer, Akro unveiled Heat, a fragrance inspired by the burn of chili pepper, "the one that ignites and makes the temperature rise". A highly fitting theme in the midst of a heatwave! It is a spicy score beneath a halo of softness, which I was able to discover during the TFWA fair in Cannes at the end of September (2026). Akro continues to explore our addictions, plunging us this time into t... Read full article: With Heat, Akro Explores Chili With Delicacy from Fragrantica Perfumes and Colognes Magazine.
JHAG's Purple Trouble, Romano Ricci's Answer to Fruity Ouds
Purple Trouble, Romano Ricci's new release for Juliette Has a Gun, is a launch aimed at seducing the fans of ubiquitous fruity ouds, a category currently experiencing a period of stagnation, given that the combinations are few and their creators' imagination often leaves much to be desired. Moreover, the passion fruit, raspberry, or any other generally acidic and fresh fruit used in marketing mess... Danhera Launches Orkeia
Italian brand Danhera showed its latest fragrance, Orkeia, at both Esxence and PITTI Fragranze this year. The new fragrance is centered around a fantasy black orchid accord, coupled with a deep, dark, Indian oud backbone. The story of Orkeia opens in a garden after dark. In the moonlight, a white tiger moves silently amongst the flowers. The tiger is a symbolic guardian of the garden that protect... Best Vanilla Cologne for Men 2026: Worth It?
The best vanilla cologne for men proves that vanilla has no business being filed away as exclusively sweet or feminine. That perception is simply dated. Used right, vanilla is one of the most versatile base notes in men’s fragrance; it’s warm and grounding, far more common in men’s colognes than most people realize. The right
