The Myth of the Perfectly Preserved Quran
A common claim is that the Quran has been perfectly preserved with zero variations since its inception. Michael Jones explains the historical reality of burned manuscripts, differing textual traditions, and the varying versions of the Quran that exist today. #Apologetics #TextualCriticism #ChristianWorldview #Quran #TheologyMatters

What Was the Protestant Reformation?
To understand the Reformation and its lasting influence, we have to imagine a very different world from our own. For one thing, the choices we enjoy in the twenty-first-century West were nonexistent. Life was controlled by financial constraints, geography, ignorance, and family ties. And then there was the church. The freedom to choose one’s own church was unheard of because before the mid 1500s, the Roman Catholic Church was the dominant religious force.
How to counsel a brother’s out of wedlock pregnancy
A young Christian brother in his early 30’s (although I’m not entirely sure he’s born again - has the head knowledge but very little fruit), had been living with his girlfriend which I told him 6 months ago to either marry her quickly or move out. Didn’t heed the advice and now she’s pregnant. Of course they broke up right before they found out. She was threatening to call cops, berated him for not making enough money, threatened to cheat on him so he would take the break up seriously…
Baylor University: Wolves in Shepherd's Clothing?
What's going on at Baylor University? After exposing the administrative roadblocks that led to the cancellation of a recent college tour event, Frank returns to address some anticipated objections and dig even deeper into his concerns about the university. He'll address questions like: -- How do Marxist principles conflict with biblical teachings on justice and impartiality? -- How is Baylor violating their own core values on inclusion and diversity? -- How do some of Baylor's courses give supposed intellectual justification for violence? -- What is the purpose of a Christian university? -- What is the worst advice of the past century? -- Should academic freedom have limits? -- How can Christian schools teach other religions and worldviews without compromising biblical truth? -- Why would a Christian school be tempted to compromise on Christian values? -- What schools (if any) does Frank recommend? Will Baylor respond to Frank's concerns or send a representative to join him on the podcast? That remains to be seen. In the meantime, this conversation raises some important questions for every Christian family considering where to pursue higher education. Abraham was a sociopath - prove me wrong
Kill your own child because a voice (god) tells you to do that? Can you just imagine this situation in real life today? Imagine your neighbour would kill his son and say it was a test from god to see if I fear him and be loyal. I don’t understand how this storys are not seen as insane but as heroic, even back then. submitted by /u/No_Faithlessness1243 [link] [comments]
Seeking book recommendations on (lack of) fairness of God judging mankind
How's it going all? TLDR will be in bold. (Edit: I am from a Christian perspective, but I am attempting to take the opposing POV as fairly as I can.) So, I am taking an English class this semester. One of our assignments will be to write a research paper on any topic of our choosing. We need to provide double digit worth of sources for this paper. At the same time, I am taking a philosophy class. Earlier this week the phil professor was going on a speech against Christianity from Genesis 1-3 and creation.

The Mom God Isn’t Calling You to Be
“I’m so sorry I’m late.” As my son climbed into our minivan, my apology felt weak. I had misjudged the time — again. I didn’t leave any margin as I hurried to finish a project at home, so when another child needed care, the situation delayed me from picking up my waiting son. Then I hit extra traffic en route. Mom guilt weighed heavily on me as I realized running late was a pattern for me, even though it’s one I had hoped to avoid as a parent.

A hymn I wrote
I wrote this poem/hymn in a time of great prayer, reverence and worship to God. I hope it can be of great edification to you all!- O That Wonderful Saviour [Verse 1] As I look upon that hill, that cross, my Saviour still. And as before he cried “Lord not mine, but your will”. He carries my sins from past and to till, And the words of old became fulfilled [Verse 2] For I rejected him from my inn Oh my iniquities abound within And he was crushed for my sin! What great did my Saviour win? [Verse 3] But how great that saviour
[LIVE TEACHING SERIES!] Can We Legislate Reality? 'The War on Reality' Session #2 PLUS Q&A
How can Christians equip themselves to discern which public policies align with their faith? Is the church's best political strategy going to be treating the voting booth like a personal prayer closet--sending people in with eyes closed, hands raised high, and voting for whoever seems "nicest" while singing "Jesus Take the Wheel"? We think there's a better way to go about this. Join us on MON. 10/12 at 7:30 PM ET to catch a glimpse of Frank and Phoenix filming their BRAND NEW TV SERIES--'The War of Reality' in front of a LIVE audience at Freedom House Church (Lake Norman) in Cornelius, NC. This week they'll be covering Session #2 - 'Can We Legislate Reality?' which also includes '10 Reasons Christians Should Be Involved in Politics'. WARNING: This session is live-streamed and then taken down. If you miss it, you'll need to tune into NRBTV several months from now. 00:00 Waiting 2:50 Introduction 5:18 Presentation Begins 1:08:37 Should Pastors endorse candidates? 1:19:20 Was Jesus a social justice warrior? 1:27:00 Testimony from a Christian Politician 1:30:35 Is America really a Christian nation?

Which seminaries are best for Minister of Education roles?
I'm a reformed-leaning member of a Southern Baptist church, and an online seminary student. I'm looking to transfer to a different seminary because my seminary is weak in the areas of Bible teaching, church education, and administration. The roles I want to prepare for the most are education, discipleship, and administration-oriented. What seminaries are most strong in that realm? I'm open to reformed heavy schools, but they don't have to be. Edit: clarification about Southern Baptist submitted by /u/jonesderek76 [link] [comments]
What Does Romans 9 Mean?
My grandparents were legally permitted to leave communist Russia in the 1930s, in an era when borders were sealed. Almost no one escaped Russia at that time. Humanly speaking, my father should have lived and died in Russia, probably without hearing the gospel. He should not have met my mother in America, and—if there were no God—neither I nor my children would have been born. But God does exist, and Romans 8 and 9 describe His sovereign governance over all things.
God or Government: Who Do You Obey?
Does submitting to governing authorities mean Christians should always obey the government? From abortion and religious freedom to illegal immigration, Frank explains how Christians should apply 1 Peter 2:13 in today's political climate, when civil disobedience is justified, and why remaining politically silent isn't always an option. 📚 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗗 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗖𝗘𝗦 Legislating Morality: Is it Wise? Becoming a member at a PCA church very soon. Do I need to agree with everything?
I've been going to a great PCA church near me. The sermons are longer than what I'm used to and due to some medicine I take it is hard for me to stay focused during sermons because I get drowsy in the mornings, but the people are friendly and the music and nostalgia is wonderful. After going through an inquirer's class (due to my sleep issues I missed several weeks) I am being encouraged by the pastor to fill out some stuff to become a member.
